I was going to say i have done the vinegar set and a pony that i did 5 years ago still looks like i just did it. It does depend on the plastic and the temp that you have the water as well. RIT works best at 140 degrees F. then Ice cold water with Vinegar.
Although I have not done a dye job since G4's hit the market.

I use a Keurig and dont use the KCups I actually use the little filters for using your own coffee and I use the cleaner you can get for the coffee pots and I have never seen mold in mine. In fact I have two of the things and they are just as clean as when i set them up.
I say just take care of them and clean them often and you wont have any problems with them.
