I've found some in Poundland (or was it Poundworld?) as well. Smaller than that set though, just mug and egg. Interesting to note that the spoon in the set pictured is the same as the one that came with the Thomas set for the last couple of years as well

No such luck! Maybe one day She is definitely a rare one. The end of the tail does look overly straight, however fingers crossed she is a real one!

It is perfectly acceptable to debate the authenticity of a pony (not just this one!) regardless of whether it has been said before, as if we never challenge things (in general), we don't learn more. Everyone is going to have an opinion and we don't all have to agree.
Myself, I'd really like to see the rest of the scanned page. It looks so close to the one from Argos, but is missing the number reference on the image and I don't recall seeing an Argos scan of that particular one (there are a lot of scanned catalogues around across the different years). As far as we know, Argos did produce their own pictures, normally with existing products though, as typically they are not overly ahead of the game. Once it's in the catalogue, it's in the shop - they don't come out ahead of time - so no need to use a prototype. It's always possible they shared images with another catalogue, perhaps elsewhere and the rest of the page would give interesting provenance to the image itself to consider things further.

The cards that came with badges, do you know if they are magazine exclusives or have they been sold separately as well?
Another badge id question: badge saying "Christmas is fun" in red letters, pony shown is Sweet Clover(?) with the puppy from show stable on her back.
Can't say for sure either way, but due to the numbers and companies involved I would be surprised if any were used for both. From memory, I think that one is from a card (I assume a Christmas one!) but I would have to double check

I've never seen one attached, but as far as I know, the best friend toys came with issue 222 and the Newborn twin sticker came with Friends issue 10. (I think I have this attached, but I haven't taken the pictures of the Friends ones yet! The Lady Lessons badge may be, or it could be from a card. I have no confirmation either way on that one! They're all originals yes. That one is a puzzle, for some reason I didn't take a scan of the other side as it's the same as the front

That flutter comb explains why I had two Forget-me-not combs... but not why I also had two Honey Suckle and two Lily ones!
Do you think that Half Note badge might be from the issue with the Rocking Beat ponies on the front?
Oh, I hadn't realised that was a picture frame! So it does look like that is the frame and then the other item is the jigsaw. Does yours have the pieces to go with it? I think I actually prefer it as a frame, lol. That's definitely possible for the Half Note badge. And I wouldn't rule out there having been more combs issued - you never know with Hasbro! Or you could have been like me and pick up random combs/brushes at carboot sales. I stopped and thought about that with the Half Note one when I saw it, but no, I really don't think it goes with a card. I remember it being taped, and that wouldn't happen on a card - unless, of course, it was on a card and then leftovers found their way to a comic. But I don't think so.
My sister has a badge that has one of the MGR ponies on it that did come from a card but I'm pretty sure it isn't the one you have there. I think it had a green background, but I think you're right about the stock images.

It is possible it was both... but unlikely, given the numbers that would be required. Will just have to keep an eye out for more attached ones One of my sisters also had a birthday badge with an MGR on it, as my mum retrieved it and gave it to me a couple of months back. I think it may have been Flower Bouquet? Definitely larger than this one though. I've dug my comics out of storage and yes, it is issue 203 for the bookmark.
I don't have the bangle in my own collection but have definitely seen a photo of it on the front of one of the Tales comics.
Fantastic, thank you When I bought it originally I had no idea what it was, then I thought it was the stencil before realising it was more likely to be the bookmark. Glad to see it confirmed though The bangle I'd always been under the impression was a comic gift. They used to be astoundingly plentiful and all over the place, but not so much now! Mostly I see the pink and lilac ones, but there is a hot pink one as well. I saved an image of issue #164 if you'd like it. I pulled it awhile ago, so I'm not sure whose it is, but I can PM it to you. It has a blue princess pick as the "Hair Slide" bonus.

I feel like I've seen the Tassels image before, but not the badge. I feel like it's the same as the one on the handkerchief set that was also out, featuring the four MGR ponies we had in the UK. I used to have three of them but think I sold them, but the picture looks very familiar even though I can't place the badge. I find it weird that it says Hasbro Int'l on it, which is unusual at this time surely..?
Interesting... I removed Half Note as someone else had said it was definitely from a card rather than a comic! Pretty sure that the image is the same as on the handkerchief, so I'm assuming it was a stock image of some kind? It could be from a card also - I included it as it's the same size as the comic badges The Bright Eyes stencil/ruler/bookmark is definitely a comic gift. I think it came with issue 203 but can't remember off hand and all my comics are in storage.
I believe the bracelet is also a comic gift from the Pony Tales era but don't know which issue.
Excellent - issue 203 is what I had the bookmark down as being a possible for, so that matches up nicely! Although Friends 27 also had a bookmark listed so could be either... or both! There is a bangle listed as being with MLP and Friends 39, which may be this one, but I've not seen it confirmed. There are at least three different colours though. Hmm... I don't have the Tassels badge but I think I stopped getting the comics just after the 200 mark so it's still possible it came with them late on. I have the bangle in purple and that ruler with the stencils and I'd guess it was the comic not the club. The paper puzzle I recently scanned... I'd guess it was from my little pony and friends in approx 1991 but that's because it says on it, I don't know what issue it would have been.

Awesome, thanks ChrissyTree! I shall go take a look. You definitely have some in there that I've not seen before - are they all your originals? (I think I stopped shortly before the 200 mark, when they started repeating stories). I was thinking the puzzle thing may actually be a picture frame? There's a slot at one end where you could slide a picture in, and Friends #38 apparently came with a picture frame. Of course Friends #28 came with a jigsaw, so it could go either way, but since we both have one without any pieces maybe would lean more towards picture frame?

I'm on the hunt for information on the gifts that came with the G1 UK Comics!I have a fair few already myself, but know I am missing a bunch and would love to see pictures of anything people have, even if I have them already myself (as the comics were not always consistent!) I have been collating the info into a list - It's currently in the form of an excel spreadsheet, but I would like to expand this in the future. I've always considered the 1985 dated one to be for 1986 as they're always published shortly before Christmas with the date for the next year on the cover, so if it was before Christmas 1985 the date would typically be 1986.
