Wanted! / Looking for Quackers to Debug With
« on: April 25, 2020, 11:29:03 AM »
Hey there! I'm going into computer programming in college and of course I'll need my "rubber duckie" to debug my code with. I thought instead of that, I'd have a pony! And what better rubber duckie pony is there than Quackers?

SO! I'm looking for g1 adult Quackers. She doesn't have to be mint, but in very good or better condition. I live in the US and have paypal and zelle.

I'm looking to complete the set of the Uk Adult Pony Series and the final ingredient is Honeycomb. I'd prefer her in nice shape, but I can do some restoration work so will look at any ponies with work needed. Looking to buy- have paypal and live in the US. Thanks much!

I've only had two pony finds in my career: a good conditioned Blossom plushie and a near mint g3 Shenanigans. I am so jealous of all you people with your awesome pony hauls! I wish my shops would stock up hehehe

Pony Corral / Advice on Styling G4 Hair
« on: March 20, 2015, 02:05:27 PM »
Hey there Arena!

So, I've been doing a round of fresh hair styling on all my ponies and, having come to my g4s, have reached an impasse. I can't seem to find styles that work on them. Either the curl(s)/straight hair cover up their entire body and symbol OR their hair won't lay flat when combed to lay on their non-display side (not to mention this blocks some of the lovely hair colors in g4!). I've tried wrapping their hair/head and neck in a paper towel  and pinning it closed to make their hair dry flat against them, but it doesn't seem to work. I've never had that kind of problems with the previous generations- did something change in the fourth generations hair make up?

So Arena! How do YOU style your g4's hair? Can anybody give me some tips or ideas? I've got pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies who all need some new hairdos!

Hey there Arena!

I just got a new bag and it needs some ponies on it to truly be mine. I'm looking for g1 patches much like this one of Galaxy. I'd prefer unicorns, but I'm open to taking a look at any you might have.

Wanted! / WTB: g1 Mimic! UPDATE! GOT HER!
« on: November 28, 2012, 06:15:23 AM »
Hey there Arena!

I'm yet another collector looking for the elusive Mimic.... But it's not for me!

My best friend has had an extremely tragic and difficult year- moving to a new state, hospitalizations for both herself and her mother, death in the family, and more. So, naturally, I want to make Christmas extra special for her this year. Mimic has long been her grail pony, so I thought what would make a better present than that?

I'm looking for relatively nice condition, especially for hair and body. Some symbol and eye damage is fine- I can repair that. But I am willing to look at any offering! Being that this is for my friend, I am not afraid to spend the $$$ that comes with a pony like Mimic.

Help my friend have a bit of light at the end of a dark year, Arena! Help me find Mimic!

EDIT!!

Thanks to the lovely Cate_Dartfinger, this Christmas wish has been filled! Thank you so much Arena!!!

MLP Nirvana / Re: Brazil Dancing Butterflies w/ green hair
« on: April 21, 2012, 09:13:50 PM »
Yea I was wondering if it was cleaned and the hair was bleached out...I do remember someone posting about their sugarberry and the tail went from red to blonde, and I can see how yellow would get a tinged green in appearance...she is pretty, and is it just me but are symbols more colorful and prettier

My best friend's Sugarberry is the one you're mentioned there. C: It was due to exposure to hydrogen peroxide and her mane, not her tail.

Here she is, her tail was left out of the hydrogen peroxide which is why it is still the normal Sugarberry color.

And here is a much more relevant photo, said Sugarberry's bleached mane compared to a US Dancing Butterfly's mane.

I don't know if it will be much help for your mystery, but I can see the potential of chlorine turning it green. I'm hardly an expert in rehairing either so no help there either. Good luck though! Rehair or not, I actually rather like that color on her.

Pony Corral / Re: Hydrogen Peroxide Turned Sugarberry's Hair Gold!
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:55:48 PM »
She does look very pretty now at least:) I am curious though how effective the whitening works? Will it fade cancer spots or clear up marks? I have a couple bodies id love to brighten up for customs if it actually works!

Is there a tutorial for this somewhere?

I took some time to dig up some links for ya. In my searches I've found a few references to it occasionally damaging red and pink hair! Perhaps my test ponies just got lucky, hehe... But if they're baits who you intend on rehairing it doesn't really matter I suppose.

http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/free-cleaning-tips-yellowed-plastic.html Not about ponies specifically, but still useful.
http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=210048.html Great pictures of its work on a playset. This is about the same results I got on my ponies.

I wish I had some before and after pictures to share with you all! If I can locate my camera, I will try to get a picture of the pony I first tested it on. I left her head out of the hydrogen peroxide to compare afterwords and it really shows the difference.

So, so tempted to try this!   I have an extra, discoloured Sugarberry, and a bottle of expired (since 2007) hydrogen peroxide.   Not sure I have enough left in the bottle to cover the pony, though.   I also don't have much in the way of sunlight.

You could always just try enough to submerge the head and tail! Also my friend did not put her in the sunlight, so you don't have to worry about that!

Why didn't her tail change? You said your friend was trying to whiten her body... did she remove the tail?

Yeah she removed the tail for the soak.

I've been wanting to try the peroxide/sun method but now this scares me a little bit. XD

She looks really pretty, though! But at the same time she'd be easy to rehair if needed since Dollyhair has her exact match.

I mentioned earlier that I've done some attempts with peroxide/sunfading. I have yet to have any problems with it- of course I use non-expired peroxide! I think you should give it a try, maybe start on a baity pony or one that you plan to rehair or something along those lines if you're that worried. I've had some amazing results with it and this is the first time I've seen anything quite like this!

2% strength, expired in 2004

While a little disappointed because of how much she loves Sugarberry, my friend (and I as well) think it's turned out quite beautiful! Strawberry blonde INDEED!
