WingedDragon, I think you're right  It really does seem like instead of wondering WHY the first few toys didn't sell, they just went "Oh well, we'll just pull out the old stand-bys, people always want Minty"... like, just assuming cuz Minty's popular that people will just mindlessly buy her up... stuff like that. (alright, to be fair, when I saw that set I DID think "Okay, I might be tempted by this one if it turns up over here", but... xD still!!!) I wish they'd try more G5 characters instead of redoing the "G4 model" as Snapdragon said... I mean, I don't like G5 much. I don't like the style. But I felt that way about G4 for AGES too and then eventually it grew on me! So maybe G5 could grow on me too if they'd only give it a chance. Because my other main problems with G5 are a) ENDLESS SUNNY and b) poor distribution/same few things everywhere. Maybe if we had less Sunny (and... Izzy? Izzy's the purple unicorn right?) and more of a variety of characters then I might be more interested in it.. Gah, I dunno. I'm rambling, sorry.

Tbh I'd prefer Lady Lessons over Miss Hackney. I haven't really read anything w/ LL or seen that much of Tales so I don't have any "personal" stake in it... I just think Lady Lessons is cuter :B
Kitcatepic I know exactly what you mean!! Even though I'm not a huge G4 fan, and I'm as sick of the main 6 as anyone, their colours were so pretty together, both as a group and like, how their colours coordinated individually, if that makes sense? I'm not sure how to phrase it either but I definitely agree with you that G5's palette seems less.... something.

The overseas distribution of G3 really is weird It takes so long for anything new to turn up over here that it's basically killed my interest in the line. I mean, I still love it and there's G3 dolls I'd love to get, but when I don't know when or even IF they'll turn up over here, it's hard to keep up the enthusiasm... especially since shipping from the US is even more expensive now than it was back in the G1 days, so that's not really an option now either :/ The Creature is cool! She's not one I'd be interested in getting personally, but I like her.

The new LPS are definitely wider spread than the BF ponies. I've always had a hard time finding the ponies, but the LPS I've found tons of stock of in every toy/"nerdy" shop I've been into in the past few months. I know the BF line won't last forever... but I hope it lasts at least a little bit longer

Even G1's Tales didn't have every character made. The most common G1 Customs are of Teddy, Lancer, Ace, & Miss Hackney, so what does that tell you???

UK fans - I found the Medley plushie at GAME yesterday!! I dug through the plushie bin for a bit trying to find the other two but couldn't see them - I was rushing though (and they just had a big bin of plushies, it was difficult to pick through them without risking knocking them out onto the floor  ) so it's possible they had them at the bottom of the bin or something. (even if this particular shop didn't have them, others might) Soooo excited to see these!! I think they're even cuter than the first wave... was hard to leave Medley there but I'm saving up atm so couldn't justify her... but I have a feeling at least one of them will be coming home with me eventually  DreamvalleyMLP - I don't mind you posting that here ^^ Thanks for sharing... that's.... really strange o.O Even if there's no new news for the Hasbro MLP line (which wouldn't surprise me) you'd think they'd at least have something to say about the BF ponies?? How worrying (But it is nice to hear that the BF LPS are doing well) The "games, IP and toy company" thing is REALLY interesting, I think that about confirms what we've suspected/speculated for a while, that Hasbro really are focusing more on licensing their toys out to other companies instead of producing them themselves. Man... I don't even know how to feel about that.

listening to the audition reel and omg I can't get over "Bushywushies", that's such a cute mispronunciation ;A;
That Tirac line still fascinates me though. I think it's probably better that they didn't use it (it'd be too confusing out of context) but I just love that at some point they did consider calling back to RaMC.
That Danny dialogue like "did you ever oonsider making a record?" etc, that wasn't in the final film right? I don't remember it - I wonder what the context is. sounds like he's talking to some goons or something?
Also wow I'm glad they went with Russi for Rosedust/Morning Glory. She had the real knack of doing soft, cutesy voices without them being too cloying/obnoxious. Gah, I miss her ;_; The soft way she asks the director to go through it with her, omg. Interesting how her "take 4" voice for Rosedust is basically Morning Glory, I wonder when they switched the two's voices around. (edit: woop I posted while still listening, I hadn't gotten to the point where they outright said "we could use these for Morning Glory or Rosedust" yet. Fascinating :O )
Thanks again for sharing these! It's such a treat to get to hear this part of the process.

Dippindot, you took the words out of my mouth! Also SO many G4 characters. I still can't believe we never got a brushable Babs Seed. Or Fleur de Lis. The princess moulds always seemed popular so I'm sure Fleur would've sold well?? since she just used Luna's model but without wings. (Also I typed this up earlier but apparently forgot to hit post? oops  )

I forgot to mention the fact that these are core/major characters they're locking behind the NFT paywall - yeah, I don't get it either. If they were variants of previous releases (y'know, gimmicky crap like Glow in the Dark and such) then I'd be like, alright, whatever, it's a gimmick, but... ARGH.
Even setting aside the NFT thing, the whole system is so infuriating. It sounds like the odds of actually winning a figure are slim to none, so what's even the point?? Why wouldn't Applejack and Rarity be regular releases?!?

Gosh, that's so clever and cute! I'm over here struggling to make a mold, and some kid did it with a toy not even sold in their country in the 80s! I love it! 
This is what gets me about them! It's such an oddly specific thing to make a custom/homemade mould out of, but I guess I've seen weirder! I agree they do look like plaster casts of some kind rather than just being painted over the original toys. I wonder if they were an obscure fakie plaster cast kit that "borrowed" the original Hasbro moulds - or maybe even a legitimate release that we haven't found yet? I think I'm leaning towards homemade or bootleg atm. It is odd if they weren't released over there... but not impossible, toys do travel esp. if bought on holiday... if only they could talk! Either way they're a really cool and unusual find, congrats!

It really does tick me off, it's so insanely stupid!! I mean NFTs are stupid in the first place, but if it was a guaranteed "buy the figure and get a matching NFT" dealio, I could kind of understand that... but the lottery thing is just bonkers. It's infuriating since they've done quite a few that I would GLADLY pay regular price for if they would just release them normally!!! I have noticed these NFT POPs seem to be mostly of properties that are popular, but maybe not very "current" (if that's the word I want), so maybe that has something to do with it... like they think there'll be enough demand to warrant making them, but not enough to justify a regular release? But if that's the case, just make them online exclusives but otherwise a regular release?? It doesn't make any sense at all :/

Yeah I meant why were they referred to in maternal terms to begin with, not the mommy/mummy thing lol. (I've seen confusion about that before, which has always baffled me... like of course the UK release uses the UK word ) But yeah I guess it was to go with the MLP Mommy ads, that'd make sense!

But no seriously, for me it's Petite/Mummy Charm -> regular pony all the way. I like small things, but they're a little too tiny for my taste.
Has anyone ever done any regular-sized customs of any of the Petite/Mummy Charm characters?
(and why are they called Mummy Charms anyway? I've always wondered!)
