What do you think of the new doctor?

I like him, he's a bit of an ass but he kicks ass so he rocks IMO. I thought Clara would be a bore but she is a great foil for him and can put him in his place.

Love him!! He's so different from the last two, who semed to blend into each other. Definitely one of my favourites and I hope he lasts a long time.

I do not like the relationship between him and Clara...I find it really boring and unconvincing.

But Capaldi himsel... - he is taking it much darker, much more serious. I love how different he is from Tennant and Smith; less funnies more drama but still has a comedic aspect to the character. So far so good...just need the stories to get better.

So far I love him! And I'm liking Clara a lot better this season, too. I felt like she was very bland with 11 (and I admit, I hate the Doctor/companion romances), but she's developing a more solid personality with 12. And I like their banter, because I've definitely had friends where we can tease each other like that, and it seems merciless to outsiders, but we know it's just for fun.

I need to see yesterdays episode still, and bear in mind the only other doctor I have seen is 9. (ive seen snippets of 11 and I think when I get to that series ill be very happy)

He seems cold hearted to me but it seems like theres room for his companion to open up his heart.  He will go out of his way to make sure shes safe but hes like that dad no one wants to upset o.o

i was put of cos i loved David so much as the DR and Matt grew on me....i should give this guy a go i know.
i know age shouldn't matter as i have watched it since a kid from the beginning with all the oldies in it.
my friends said he wasn't bad but agreed with me on not liking Clara. she is a put of. 

bring back Martha and i will watch it  that will get my attention

If you ever watch the old series, The Doctor has always been a bit of an ass.  Smith, and especially Tennant were a bit too nice.  I honestly think the best of the new Doctors was Eccleston, with Capaldi already taking the #2 spot from Smith.  He has a lovable cantankerousness to him, and I am loving it.

I think him in Clara work well together, a bit of a throwback to the Teacher/Student dynamic of the old series.  I thought Saturday's episode was excellent, and so far have enjoyed the other episodes of this series.  They play off each other quite well.

And they're just adorable together.

I'm really enjoying Capaldoc so far. Like @The Doctor said, he's very like the classic series Doctors. One and Six, I would say off the top of my head, for the ones he reminds me of the most. (Makes me wonder if we're going to see Susan at some point). It's clear Capaldi is having the time of his life playing the character, which makes it fun to watch and see his joy. Plus, like it's been said in this thread, he and Jenna Coleman work really well together - his Doctor and Clara are fun.

I watched the new episode yesterday a bit after posting.

Im going to need a bit more time to really get used to him but I still stand by the 2 needing each other..even though that forced romance is odd I think.
