We tried to set up where we could get local channels, but sadly we live so far out nothing. My mom says it's a miracle we've lasted so long without any sort of television or proper internet. I plan to try and get us something by the end of the month though. I'll look into it then or maybe buying the season. Hastings seems to have good deals...I just know I'm missing out on so many shows like my Trueblood and Walking Dead among others people keep telling me to watch. :cloud:

I think Cora is the girl who spins straw into gold with Rumple's help and almost has her daughter stolen from her as an infant but guesses his name right so Regina is not stolen. But I am just guessing.
Cora is a millers daughter. Regina is the baby he wanted to take. I believe he did for a period of time. Cora made a "lot" of deals.
I am not sure how I feel about this season so far. I'm not quite as into it as last season. I think the key to Dr. Whale is his name... Not the doctor part but the whale. Like Ruby=Red Riding Hood, Mr. Gold=Rumpelstiltskin, Regina means queen, etc. Maybe he's Moby-Dick, lol.
Is Emma Swan the swan princess? So silly...but I LOVE LOVE the swan stories. It seems a bit obvious and silly saying it though!I always figured Swan was just a way to connect her to Snow and Charming, since swans are white and graceful... But I have seen a lot of people saying she might be the swan princess. It could even be that Regina does something like use her knowledge of our world and stories and is all like "Oh yeah well here SWAN princess" and turns her.
Sleeping beauty is already a plot point for season two :)

The general consensus is a rather convoluted connection. The director of the 1931 Frankenstein movie was James Whale and it is considered to be "one of the most iconic horror films in movie history."
mlp4me, I would guess that's a flaw as, even if FTL has an excellent education system for peasant children, he said he was raised by wolves and he didn't appear interact with people much. If he was raised by wolves, he'd also have language problems... perhaps he was accepted into the pack after the age of 7 or 8 and so he was raised by them, but already had developed language and reading skills?I like the theory.
I just have to laugh that the writers assume that all can read/write in FTL when historically most people didn't read or write in medieval times-assuming that this is a close time frame they're referencing from. I can understand Nobility being educated...
I mean no offense by this, but there are far too many female characters in these the storylines (besides occasional Henry/Gold).
Emma is 17 when she has Henry and Neal is over 18. Take that with a grain of salt though because they're rewriting history, LOL.Gotta love how they change characters at the last minute!

Honestly, I think I might have imagined Rapunzel. It might have been a wavy fur cloak or something one of the "wolf" had on the very first time they show the group. I didn't see long hair after that so I think it was an illusion. Oh well!
With Captain Hook in the picture I wonder if Emma's Swan name has anything to do with Elizabeth Swann. Although I think it is more likely she is the Swan Princess. Except, then her name really should be Odette. Do they ever say what her middle name is? There are other swan fairy tales like The Seven Swans, but even in that one she would need to have seven brothers.
The creators' podcast I think (or an interview, I can't remember which) said that Swan was the name Emma gave herself, it's a surname of a family she lived with when she was in foster care. They also said that she is her own fairy tale character..Since Emma grew up in the foster system from infancy, it's likely she doesn't have a middle name.

What's funny, is I'm not huge on the actress that plays Emma. She's okay and all but she makes this crazy deep frown all the time, it makes her look so much older than her character's age, it weirds me out. I like her character but I wish she could get her frowns under control :P I really like Snow and I liked that actress in Big Love too. I love now protective Snow is of Emma and how cute she was when she realized she had told her daughter so many appropriate things before she knew she was her daughter.

I agree that the last scene sets Regina up to be vulnerable to Cora's manipulation but in everyone's defense I will say that 99% of the town hates Regina so I'm not sure where one would go to dinner with her as a guest.

I felt that the focus of the license plate was more to show that the guy was not from Storybrooke, or even from Maine.
I think Neal is Bae or knows Bae.I don't think it makes sense for Neal (Emma's baby daddy) to be Bae. Neal appeared to be about Emma's age. Maybe a little older, like Pinocchio/August's age, but not... Way older. Bae left when his dad was pretty much JUST getting the hang of being The Dark One, and he was probably, what? Like... 13, maybe a little older? Even if time doesn't flow comparably between the real world and fairy tale world, it seems to be kind of the same (based on Emma and Snow's journey). It took Rumple years to gain power, then mentor Cora and Regina, meet Belle. I would think that by the time the curse was cast, Bae would've been AT LEAST 20, therefore at least 20 years older than Emma (and now would be 50-ish). I think it would be hilarious to see Bae and Rumple the same age, like Emma and Snow/Charming are.

For a while I thought that maybe she was engaged to the King ( snow's father ) and had Regina, but that the secret of her lying about her abilities or the fact that she promised their child to Rumple got out and she was dumped for Snow's mother.
But then I realized Regina later married that King and that would just make it all super creepy, so scrapped that theory XD

I find myself tiring of this show at some points, especially when the only decent actors are not the ones the show focuses on and the ones that are just terrible get all the focus (I am looking at you Emma and Henry!) it...is just very exhausting at times. And at the end of the day I just think season one was way better. Did they fire all the writer's from last season or what?!No, they haven't fired last season's writers (maybe added 2 more... not sure too lazy to look up who wrote each episode).

All the other characters were essentially themselves even when cursed. Snow was still sweet Snow, David was still Charming, Jiminy was still a conscious driven cricket at heart.I think she was tainted more by Regina's magic because she was more vulnerable... She was more of a blank slate with no memories when the curse re-hit her, before the curse was broken she was locked up for 27 years!
So it is very odd for Belle to like violence. I could see her as a bar fly and maybe even a bit too worldly, but I can't see her as someone who likes people to hurt.

kind of off topic, but i just wanted to say this. they cast a 19 year old girl to play wendy who is suppose to be what 12? kinda dumb, the kid who plays bae is a kid, like 14. could they not find a girl who actually is a tween to play the part? it would be fun to see more of neverland and how they plan on explaining more on how it started. i did see that there will be a spin off dealing with wonderland, once upon a time in wonderland, i believe it was called. seems kind of soon for a spin off, but it looks like it should be good.The guy that played Hannah Montana's "teenage" brother was 28 when the show started, and it ran for I think 5 years?

I am almost 100% sure that "Rumplestilskin's undoing" means his curse as the dark one will be broken. So Henry is going undo the curse on Rumplestilskin and he won't die. The beast needs to become a man again. He might die for a moment but if he does Bele's love will save him. I think they will have a happy ending.

Wasn't the blond boy in the hood Peter Pan? I thought he said something along the lines of "Peter Pan always gets his man". Paraphrased, but he was basically saying he himself will find and capture the boy (Henry) for the shadow (who is nameless).

It was an ok episode for me :huh: I'm reeeeally getting tired of Emma whining about being an orphan and her parents abandoning her. She did the same thing to Henry! If it was really so tramautizing, she would have thought twice about giving Henry up. She found out why her parents let her go through the wardrobe, but she still can't let it go. So annoying >_<
I'm really enjoying Hook in this season though :) I was kinda "ehh" about him in the beginning of season two, but he's really grown on me :D And it was nice to see Belle in this ep even if she wasn't really there ;)

Took place in Hamelin, looks like that's the Enchanted Forest and it looks like Peter could come and go. Which makes me think he had something to do with Henry getting to Storybrooke. Maybe he could go and go as he pleased when magic was in the world.. but now that magic is dying off.. he can't?

I didn't realize Ursula is Regina. I would rather she be a separate person, but well, maybe it fits with their story. I'm not that excited about them jumping to tell Ariel's story or that they are building up to it like we are all crazed about her or something. She does look really pretty though. I like that her hair isn't super red.
I may never be able to think of Peter Pan the same way. I like him as an evil character! I saw a Wendy and Pan ornament at the Disney store and immediately thought "Oh no! He is evil! Poor Wendy!!!".

I don't understand why people hate Captain Swan, it kind of reminds me of how people hated Spike and Buffy being a couple and it still makes no sense to me. What is wrong with them? I like them being together than Emma and Neal as Killian has never hurt her as badly as Neal did. And let's not forget how he pretty much had no feelings for Emma anymore right until the end of last season when he found out his new fiancé was just using him. So.....wtf?!
I only have problems with Neal when he is with Emma as their love, to me, is just extremely weak. When he is Rumple's son or being Killian's adopted son I really like him.

I did love what they did to the Little Mermaid story; as I so often do with the changes they make to fairy tales. It does make me wonder what other fairy tales they will bring in, they haven't done Hansel and Gretel yet....that I recall, my memory is terrible.

I loved the original story of the mermaid so much as a child but always freaked out at the end where she was abandoned and turned into seafoam, my babysitter made up an extended ending saying how she found companionship with other foam people that treated each other better than mermaids or humans did :XD:

You missed part of the story. Her body turned to foam, but she gained a spirit which arose up into to the air and joined other air spirits. These spirits eventually earn a way into heaven. Your version may have missed this part. It's heavily religious and has a moral. You'll have to go read it for the full ended.

How did Hook get back if Pan's Shadow is dead?!Umm... let's look at the other ways to travel between worlds... Magic beans (destroyed by Regina), magic portals (all magic trees gone), feathers from the wings of a Pegasus (gone). Mermaids can travel between realms/worlds. I'm going to go with the mermaid theory and that Hook can hold his breath for a looooooong time. Can't wait for the back tracking for this one. Almost all the magic in FTL was "gone" when Regina enacted the curse. Ha!

I have thought about this a bit more. I've been avoiding fan chatter as much as possible and any spoilers. I do think the show will suffer a huge blow in the fan base and will definitely not be the same without Rumple. Eddie and Adam got a lot of "not nice" mail when they killed Jamie off the show. I can't imagine the backlash they're still getting now from killing Rumple. At least we have the benefit of flashbacks with his character as he was very active in ftl. But now we're going to Oz so it can fill a void..... Nah...
Rumple disappeared, so there is lots of room to bringing him back. There was no funeral, no body, no burial, so I have hope that he is not dead. Plus he is the Beast, and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast does get a happy ending. The Beast dies but then is reborn into his human state. It is his destiny. Also, Henry is supposed to be his undoing and he hasn't been "undone". I took it to mean Henry would help him break his curse and this ending really didn't include Henry directly.Yup. I totally agree! I think rumple will get a happy ending because he is righting his wrongs. So I don't think he's dead...which also means pan probably isn't dead either. But they'll find some way to bring rumple back I'm sure. And not just in flashbacks.

I am already sick of the Wicked Witch of the West storyline. I think the actress playing Zelena is just overdoing it a bit; she was much better playing the villain-ish character in LOST. And I just cannot wait for this arc to be over and done with.
zelena is a bit of an odd bird. how did she get her hands on rumples knife?Neal and Belle brought Rumple back, due to Neal dieing from a curse for bringing back the Dark One, Rumple was left at a vulnerable moment for Zelena to snatch up the knife. She used Luimere to trick Neil into bringing back Rumple without knowing the concequence for that kind of dark magic.

I really don't like this story arc. The wicked witch is driving me crazy. She's at the point of being so evil and careless she's an awful character.
I actually would rather have Greg and Tamara back rather than put up with Zelena for another moment. Boo-hoo, Rumple chose Regina over you...GET OVER IT! I have seriously never seen a more lame reason for a person to go evil outside of a children's show.

Regina has become such an in depth character. I love how she's grown and changed over the past season. She's finally realized that everyone deserves a second chance. They're making a big deal in the commercials about how we "went from Neverland to Oz, NY back to Storybrooke"... "find out where we're going to next" I think it's somewhere we haven't seen before, or have barely seen. ABC's website does say "Emma and Hook are pulled into Zelena's time portal and find themselves in the Enchanted Forest of the past."

That is your option and you are certainly entitled to it. But there are a lot of people on here that like that movie. So saying it is the worse is a bit harsh. I've seen far worse movies but I don't go running my mouth saying they are the worst thing ever because someone else might like said movie. To each there own.
I am sharing my rage over it, which comes with threads about fandoms. If you don't like my opinion, then don't read it; it is that simple. We came here to share our opinions and I am sharing mine. I am not going to act like I love something just because other people do because I should be able to share my opinion.
The fact of the matter is bringing Frozen into this series is just lazy writing and shows that that the series is trying to ride the hype of the movie. There are plenty more fairy tales that they could have used and yet they skip over them all and go straight to Frozen? It just seems like a money grab to me and is not something I would have expected from this series, at least not so soon. It feel like they are selling out basically and I am not amused.

I may not like it, and I am certainly skeptical of it because I don't want to watch a live action version of the movie, but that doesn't mean I will give it up just because I think they are making a poor choice. I am willing to give it a shot, but I have a sinking feeling this is the start of the end for this show. I still say it is lazy writing, even if they did like the movie because the timing of it just seems a little too convenient for my taste. Plus, do we really need another character like Regina? One that comes off as evil, but really isn't once you know her history? Because, when it comes right down to it in the interviews I read, that sounds like what they plan to do with Elsa and, I'm sorry, but that is lazy writing.
GAH. Emma, THINK. This is such a mess now.... my head still hurts....LOL. Anything you do or change may have dire effect on the future... DUH! (But Rumple, why didn't you try to stop them from bringing her when you saw Hook carrying a body...?)
One thing: Emma keeps talking about Storybrook as being home. I really hope that isn't the case. I want the Enchanted Forest to be the place they ultimately call home. Just feels weird when we know ALL the other charecters do not think of Storybrook as thier true home.

I loved Bo-Peep! Got two episodes in on Sunday. Not bad, not bad. Nothing extremely noteworthy, but I'm still interested at this point! Just glad for more FTL time. However I am not liking that Emma somehow knows the Ice Queen but can't remember. We'll see how this back tracks. Emma didn't spend much time in FTL and I doubt the Ice Queen spent much time in the real world...

I loved Bo-Peep! Got two episodes in on Sunday. Not bad, not bad. Nothing extremely noteworthy, but I'm still interested at this point! Just glad for more FTL time. However I am not liking that Emma somehow knows the Ice Queen but can't remember. We'll see how this back tracks. Emma didn't spend much time in FTL and I doubt the Ice Queen spent much time in the real world...
My SO is convinced the Snow Queen was in New York somehow.
I have no clue how that would work though.

I'm glad to see Henry being more a part of the story :) Seems like they were phasing him out a bit at the beginning of this season and we didn't really see all too much of him when he lost his memories with the whole Zalina thing. He was such a huge part of the story to begin with and I felt sad we hadn't seen much of him. I think it'll be interesting with him being Rumples apprentice :)
And I hope Regina gets her happy ending! I knew Robin was still in love with her :biggrin: :heart:

I get what you're saying. There's a whole plethra of characters to keep track of and we want to know what's going on with them! I agree with you sooo much! I know the "main" characters are the focus in these stories but I really wish the others would at least be a little bit more involved.
Ruby was amazing, I especially miss her and Belles interactions together, heck Belle barely gets any screen time anymore except as a human accessory to Rumple :hmm:
I also want more Tinkerbelle!
And what in the world happened to the fairy/nun that Grumpy had a crush on?
I understand it's not really important to the storyline, but I kinda liked those two…

I think it was season 2. Belle went hunting for the yaoguay (or however you spell it lol) which kinda looked like a fiery lion beast. She and Mulan tracked it down and Belle, instead of killing it, figured out it needed help and used fairy dust to reveal he was Prince Phillip. One of my favorite eps! That's how Mulan and Phillip ended up going on journeys together :) Belle was going to go back to Rumple but then Regina captured her and locked her up. Poor Belle, she's been locked up most her life :P
Because Regina manipulated it to distract Rumple. Belle already had a personality; she was a patient in a psych ward. She wasn't supposed to be Lacey, the violent person..... Lacey might have been her name, but that wasn't what she was supposed to be. Probably supposed to be the librarian.

I'm going with Neil, his features are very appealing to me, maybe because his face reminds me of my fiancés face a bit.
The funny thing is I was very annoyed when they first introduced him as adult baelfire in the show, I didn't like him together with Emma at all in the beginning, but more so because of the writing at that time I think.
He won me over though and I was really rooting for him there at the end… :(

Wait.. isn't Maleficent supposed to be dead? She was that dragon under the library....She's dead, but she's bound to being stuck in Storybrooke in any form, even a spirit by Regina. Not sure if this changed with the curse being re-cast. At least that's what I got out of it...
Personally I am really glad that Belle finally stood up for herself!
I love Rumple as much as the next OUAT fan, but gee has he treated her BADLY!
The only way I could see him win her back is if he truly gave up magic alltogether.
It's like a drug addiction, as long as he uses it he will always put it above everything and everyone else.
Belle deserves better than that.
As a sidenote, I also argee that Cruella doesn't fit in.

So, Maleficent being pregnant was a HUGE surprise! And you can see that she's really, really devastated by the loss.A convienent storyline. Would this have gone along with 1-2 seasons? No imo. I still go by the fact that each episode is written by the seat of their pants maybe 6 months in advance but then things are added in constantly as it goes. Thus the reason why storylines don't make sense between seasons. I feel that at times the writers forget what happened in the past. However, this Hero and Villain obsession is getting a bit over worded. Don't get me wrong, I like this show, the surprises are great, but some things just get tiring over time.

Mmm, Maleficent is different than Neil and the Sheriff though.... I mean, what if she'd done magic on herself to keep her from truly dying? She was a dragon all those years under the city, after all. And there was no magic all that time, but she was still a dragon! So she's got something going on....I assumed that she would be able to be brought back because she was bound in town in whatever form. It's just amazing how easy it was to resurrect her ashes. I dont know why I waited so long to watch this! I knew I was going to like it! So I started a few days ago and after 3 days Iv finished the first season xD. Not going to bother reading ANYTHING in this topic until iv caught up lol.Yeah, we've had a lot of chit chat. Once the third season hit we've been a bit less talkative. I for one will admit I don't catch things right away, so don't ever feel bad if you get confused! If I have time I'll watch each week's episode twice just so I can attempt keep things straight. Well, there's been a revelation... when the Author ran from them, it kind of made me think... he's been tampering, right? What if he made Snow and Charming do that? He said "it made a better story" to the Apprentice... and he met them in that forest, telling them about the baby AND about the Apprentice. What if he wrote their actions? I mean, Snow was constantly unsure, regretful, and upset. She clearly didn't like this, but was oddly desperate. I think the Author was manipulating them too. He wanted a more dramatic tale for Emma's origins....MINDBLOWN.

Last night's episode was good, the hubs and I enjoyed it. I was also handsewing, so I probably need to go back and really watch it to pick it apart :)That's my problem. But seriously, HOW ARE THEY GOING TO EXPLAIN HENRY. If everything gets reversed, he'll be un-born! If Rumple's some wonderful knight now, Bael will never get sent to our world... so he never meets Emma and makes Truest Believer baby. And yet we see Henry, wearing our world clothes in the EF, sitting with a bloody nose in some peasant village as Rumple rides up in his ostentatious gold armor. How is that kid alive???

I liked it. I was sort of angry at the Writer for just flipping the endings though. It's sort of a lazy ploy for someone who wanted a "good story." I would have kept them villains but still given them happy endings. Anywho, I'm glad Henry found his place in the magical universe and that the Apprentice, whom I happily call Mickey, is back into play.
I'm sad Emma is in such danger and that she and Hook are separated.... but at least she dropped the dagger! That's a good start. Hook could like, keep it strapped to himself at all times. Then, Emma can't do anything bad, because Hook will be keeping her from betraying herself. I was all teary when she refused to let Regina lose her happy ending even one more time. She didn't hesitate; she cares about Regina and wants her to finally be happy. Plus.... Emma showed that she finally completely trusts her parents to not fail her. She asked them to save her from the darkness one more time. And with Henry as the Author, though he refuses to change things, at the very least, he must record things.... which means he will know where Emma ends up!
Now, to find Merlin. I wonder how long season 5 will focus on that...
I hear season 4 is on Netflix. Starting the countdown to season 5. Sept. 27th! So far the one commercial I've saw looks promising. In my living under a rock I have not saw Brave so if someone wants to humor me with a brief overview of the gist of the movie I'd appreciate it. :o)

I love Brave. It is one of my favorite movies. She is the only princess, that I am aware of, who doesn't sing. She is so awesome and easy to relate to.
For those who have not seen the movie Brave and don't want any spoilers, don't read this. I found it and copied it, but added more to finish the story. Enjoy!SpoilerIn a prologue, we see Lord Fergus and Lady Elinor in a forested area, celebrating the birthday of their young daughter, Merida. Though Elinor happily plays with Merida, she grows perturbed when Fergus gives the little girl her own bow and set of arrows.
As Merida tries to hit a target, one of the arrows sails off into the forest nearby. Merida runs off and retrieves it, but soon encounters a glowing blue will-o'-the-wisp. Going back to her parents, she tells what she saw, and her mother explains that they can lead a person to their destiny.
Suddenly, the mood is broken as an enormous black bear, Mordu, enters the camp grounds. Merida and her mother quickly take leave as Lord Fergus and his men fight against the bear.
Time passes, and we see that Lord Fergus has lost his leg to the bear. In the time that has passed, Lady Elinor has given birth to three mischievous triplets, Hamish, Hubert and Harris and Merida is now a teenager. While her mother wants her to be proper, Merida is more so intent on practicing archery, and journeying off in the forest.
One evening, a messenger brings word that the 3 neighboring clans have accepted the offer to fight for Merida's hand in marriage. Naturally, the young woman is not at all happy with this situation. Elinor explains to her daughter that the clans must be kept in harmony, or chaos may reign. She relates the story of how the clans were descended from four brothers, but one of them wanted more power than the others, and caused the balance of power to crumble. Even so, this does little to quell Merida's resentment of the betrothal.
The three clans soon arrive, and Lords MacGuffin, Macintosh, and Dingwall arrive with each of their sons. Per tradition, each of the first-born of the clans will fight in the event that the Princess chooses. This causes Merida to perk up, and she eagerly suggests archery.
When it comes to the sport, almost none of the sons are good at the sport, but everyone is shocked when Merida appears before everyone, claiming that since she's a first-born as well, she'll be 'fighting for her own hand.' Elinor demands Merida stop, but she defies her mother, and makes a bulls-eye on each of the targets.
Naturally, Elinor feels angry and humiliated at this, and both mother and daughter have a heated conversation in her room later on. Merida claims she does not want to be like her mother, and in anger, slashes a tapestry depicting the family, slicing a hole between her and her mother in the piece.
Upset by this as well, Elinor loses her temper, and throws Merida's bow in a fireplace nearby. Upset by this, Merida flees the castle. Unseen by Merida, her mother regrets what she has done a few moments later, and manages to retrieve the bow from the fire.
Merida flees to the forest on her horse, Angus, where she comes across a circle of stones, and a will-o'-the-wisps. Following it, she finds a small cottage inhabited by an old woman. The old woman claims she is just a wood carver, but Merida soon realizes she's actually a witch, when she notices an enchanted broom, and the woman's crow (which can talk!).
Merida eagerly asks for a spell to change her mother, but the witch refuses, claiming she did a spell once before, and regretted it. However, Merida gets her to reconsider when she agrees to purchase all her wood carvings with a silver necklace. The offer is too much to resist, and the witch brews a concoction that produces a small cake. Merida is instructed to give it to her mother, and she eagerly rushes off to do so.
Returning to the castle, King Fergus is doing his best to quell the Lords after the events of the tournament. Merida encounters her mother in the kitchen, and eagerly gives her the cake, but after one tiny bite, Elinor starts to not feel well.
Merida leads her mother to her chambers. She keeps asking her mother how she feels about the marriage, but soon her happiness changes and turns to shock... when her mother turns into a black bear!
Knowing that King Fergus, the Bear King, will surely kill Elinor. Merida finds her mother in a room with her brothers rearranging the Kings animal trophies. She enlists the aid of her brothers to distract Fergus and the Lords, while she sneaks her mother out of the castle, and back into the forest. As an award for their help, Merida allows them to help themselves to anything in the kitchen. They eye the cake that Merida got from the witch.
The two manage to find the witch's cottage, but find it is now empty. A message is left for Merida telling her that the Witch has gone away until the next Spring, and that the spell will become permanent within 2 sunrises. However, if Merida wants to reverse the effects, she has heed some specific words, "Fate be changed, look inside. Mend the bond torn by pride." Merida is unsure just what this means, and the two sleep in the woods that evening, before having breakfast in the morning.
Merida manages to catch some fish for her mother, but when her mother demands more, Merida tells her mother she will need to catch them herself. The mother and daughter bond over this method, but when her mother wanders off into the woods, Merida chases after her. However, upon finding her, her mother suddenly attempts to attack Merida, before returning to normal. With less than 24 hours, it seems that if they do not find a way to reverse the spell, Elinor will lose her humanity, and become a bear forever!
As they wander in the woods, the two come across the will-o'-the-wisps again, and follow them. They are lead to a high mountain, and the ruins of a great castle. Inside, Merida finds a stone tablet depicting 4 men, with one of them separated from the group. Soon, Merida realizes that she is in the castle in the legend her mother told her about, and soon makes the connection:
The brother who attempted to seize power from his siblings went to the witch, and her spell turned him into a bear...powerful and stronger than his brothers, but he was unable to change back, and became a rampaging beast, the same one who took Lord Fergus' leg, Mordu.
Suddenly, Mordu, the bear emerges from the darkness and attempts to attack Merida. Elinor manages to save her daughter, and the two head back to the circle of stones. However, Merida is now sure what needs to be done. The witch's spell mentioned mending, and Merida feels that if she can mend the tapestry she cut the day before, her mother will be saved.
Merida and Elinor return back to the castle to get to the tapestry. Inside she tries to distract everyone inside the throne room so her mother can get past unnoticed. She gives a speech to everyone narrating what her mother is miming her to say about she is breaking tradition on allowing their children to follow their own hearts and choose who to marry when the time is right for them. To live their life their way. The room empties out to celebrate, allowing Merida and Elinor to make their way upstairs to the chamber with the tapestry.
While Merida and her mother get to the tapestry, her mother starts acting like a bear again. She tries to get her to change back, but she couldn't. Fergus enters his chambers where he thinks Elinor is to tell her about Meridas speech to find the room a mess and Elinors dress ripped to shreds. He runs off looking for his wife, only to find Merdia in the tapestry room with a black bear. Not knowing it is his wife, he is ready to attack. Merida tries to tell him its her mother, but he won't let. Elinor fights back as a bear and accidentally scratches Merida. After she realizes what she did, she changed back, scared that she harmed her daughter. She escapes the castle before Fergus and the rest of the clans join to catch the bear. Merida is locked in the room with no way out to save her mom.
She continues to searche for a needle and thread for the tapestry. She calls out to her brothers for help. When they come into view, she sees that they have turned into three black bear cubs. They manage to get the key and unlock the door. Merida rips the tapestry down and storms out of the castle on her horse, Angus along with her brothers, while mending the tapestry.
Fergus and the three clans chase Elinor at the circle stones. They tie her up and just as Fergus is about to make his kill, Merida shoots an arrow at his sword as a warning. Telling him not to kill her mother. Thinking she is talking nonsense Fergus tries again, but Merida fights up with her own sword. Fergus is finally convince when three bear cubs climb over them and Merida refers to them as her brothers, then Mordu shows up. Fergus and the three clans attack the bear. Merida frees her mother, but Mordu turns to Merida. Unable to fight him, Elinor steps in to protect her daughter. Elinor and Mordu fight each other, while Mordu keep trying to go after Merida. On one last attempt to stop Mordu, Elinor beats him against one of the stones causing it to break and land on him.
After Mordu was crushed, the spirit of the prince from the story rose and nodded as a thank you for setting him free. Merida sees that the sun is starting to rise. She rushes to her mothers side and covers her with the tapestry, hoping she made it in time. After the sun rose, her mothers eyes turned all black like a bear. Merida was sad to see her mother not change back, she held her crying, apologizing for everything and how she just wanted her mom back. She was wrapped with two arms hugging her back, looking up to see her mother has been transformed back into a human. With glee Fergus ran to Elinor and scooped her up in his arms. The triplets too changed back into their naked human selves.
Merida and Elinor bond grew stronger having gone through what they did, that Elinor now accept Merida for who she is and she controls her fate.
I just breezed through season 4 in like a week. I thought it was amazing as usual. Being a dragon lover, I loved the appearance of Maleficent and Lily in their dragon forms. Of course beforehand, I really loved the whole Frozen arc. My hours at work have changed so I might be able to watch season 5 when it's on TV. Does anyone know what day and time it comes on?As far as I know still Sunday at 7 pm Central time.

I was working on a custom through the whole thing so I was half paying attention, as usual. Eh, eh, eh, eh. I do like Emma's reasoning. Sad that Merlin really is gone because of Emma's choice. I just hope Hook snaps out of it and doesn't turn on her. I like their dynamic.
maybe Dark Hook is part of "the plan" to get rid of Zelena?

I think it's more for the sake of the Beauty and the Beast story. At the end of the movie Beast has to become a hero and nearly die for both parties to realize their love. I am disappointed Gold is the "Dark One" again. So now more back and forth while he struggles between the darkness and losing Belle?
I wish they'd knock it off with the overlapping timelines walking backwards- it's not as though this is a complicated story with complicated dialogue- but all the back and forth and back even further and forth even more- can make things difficult to follow.

I'm sort of hoping we get to see Hades and Hercules. which is honestly the way I can see it going right now.Makes sense, it's a storyline that hasn't been worked in yet. Weren't there Pain and Panic too-those little goblin guys? (I actually never owned Hercules... been almost a decade since I last watched it). I'm glad they finally got Hook, move the storyline along! Not so excited about the actor who plays Hades; I realize he's in *everything*, but it doesn't seem to be a good fit, like he's not quite evil/temperamental enough...maybe I'm just jaded by the Disney character? I had to explain the blue hair to my husband :blink: which led me to showing him the clip of Pegasus blowing out his hair and laughing hysterically while he just stared at me...ah well.
I'm really getting tired of Rumple honestly. He's the Dark One, he's not the Dark One, then the Dark One...again. They tried making him a hero, but just decided at the last second to scrap the idea because why on earth would he ever be anything other than evil? :hmm: I love this show, but I am really getting sick of Rumple being the go to Big Bad every season as it makes me think they've run out of ideas.

And not just kill him... like, obliterate his soul! That's not fair! Now he can't be saved.... At least Regina isn't alone this time though... She and Zelena can support each other through the pain of their true loves dying.... Poor ladies.. Zelena was right. It would never be enough for Hades. He was empty and bitter for far, far too long. I'm just glad that she isn't left without love again... she knows that her mother really DID love her, and she has a sister who loves her.... Let's just hope these two don't harden up again with this loss.....
But hey, I got some happy tears too. Hook is back! I guess this is Zeus' way of apologizing for what Hades did... he can't return Robin, but he can save Hook..... And I'm glad Arthur is getting some resolution and redemption. I mean.... I feel bad for the people of Camelot, suddenly without their king, Merlin, and of course the Queen's all messed up... but hopefully they'll be freed with Arthur's passing... which was shockingly brutal! Good god, I forgot this was technically a Disney show in that moment, he just snapped his neck, and in front of the baby! And now, ironically, Arthur can finally be at peace. The pressure of the failed prophecy is gone.. the anguish is lifted, and the good man he was is breaking free of the paranoia and obsession. He had the chance to go to eternal happiness and peace... and chose to stay and fix the Underworld. To save people, and finally fulfill the grand destiny Merlin promised him. In a way... that is his happiness. Maybe he can actually make the Underworld what it's supposed to be... a place to weigh a soul's worth and send them where they need to go. I'd like that....

UGH I *hate* that it is starting at 7pm, I have a hard enough time getting DD to bed at 8 on Sundays LOL How long is the break this time? I honestly have noooooo idea where they can go after this, it's kinda like a runaway train closing in on a brick wall.

When they showed the blimp in the forest in the opening, I thought it was going to be about 'Around the World in 80 Days.' Not sure how Regina and the Evil Queen being separated is going to work, I mean, you have to live with your dark past and move on (she should just ask Hook for advice), but I guess we'll just see in September!

Um...because they kill off someone every season and the majority of the time, they come back? It was an okay episode, but I'm really looking forward to the Evil Queen being back. Lana Parrilla does a fantastic job bringing that character to life.

Just watched. It was fun but I had a few issues... under the spoiler cut:SpoilerLike, how did the wardrobe tree suddenly fit three people (Emma, Regina and Robin?) Wasn't there a whole rule about how it only fits two? They did a whole flashback episode about this in season 1. It irks me when the writers forget key details like this. And speaking of...
Much as I like August, he does *not* get to be off the hook for convincing Neal to abandon Emma and then stealing her money. He was not always looking out for her. He convinced Neal to let her go so that she could fulfill her destiny (which landed her in jail,) and then he stole the money that Neal had set aside for her. I'm not a Neal fan (and I don't hate August,) but, like I said, I don't like it when shows forget their own history.
That said, I appreciated that they finally referenced the Ugly Duckling storyline. I enjoyed seeing Robin. I enjoyed Wish World Hook's brief cameo. :) And I really enjoyed Emma and August's friendship in this episode.

The flashback to August and kid Emma did confuse me. I thought that once he had abandoned his duty to take care of her when she was still a baby (always thought that was too much to put on a little boy btw), I thought he didn't see her again until he found her in Storybrook. And wow was alternate Hook an absolute mess.
It was so awesome to see Once Upon a Time again. My favorite character is Rumpelstiltskin but something has changed about his appearance. I don't mean Mr. Gold but I think Rumpelstiltskin's make up is a different shade of gold and his hair looked different. I can't put my finger on it though.I feel like the Rumple we saw was close to the pilot version in his look... Many characters that were in that "wish land" didn't quite look like themselves.
I agree with Koudoawaia I too thought the same thing. But, I guess the writers can do what they want. So, we can assume now that Emma made up her own last name? I wonder if they'll get into the story of what her real last name was and maybe see her parents before she was given up to live in a foster home? Or, did she run away from home sorry I can't remember?
Maybe but I thought it didn't come true because she came to the realization that she could change her fate. Since Belle and Gold's son did get away though, there is definitely a chance for plenty more encounters. Plus holy crap what he did to that poor clock at the end of the episode.

I was curious as to how Henry's kid is of a different race. I assumed that maybe he married or had kids with his girlfriend and she's white. Sorry I felt weird bringing this up. I'd be interesting to know what happened to the little girl's Mom and how Henry left storybrook and his family basically. Unless for some reason storybrook disappeared and everyone had to go to the real world forever or something. I imagine Henry would move to New York since he loved living there.
At least this time around storybrook isn't new, we've been exposed to it but my only guess is it'll be like season one but backwards some how or opposite. Something happened and Henry didn't know he had a daughter like Emma didn't know she had a son or forgot or something. Probably Henry's daughter will have to get Henry to believe in magic like Henry did for Emma. Henry was the truest believer so I wonder how he would have lost faith in magic. I hope they do a flashback or something to connect the new season with the old season, unless they do flashbacks like they did with the new season where instead of showing them in the enchanted time of the past they show them in storybrook or something.
I've loved this show from the beginning and don't want it to end but I would also hate to have to stop watching it because they didn't get creative enough with the whole starting over thing.

a time and I like seeing the actors from the previous series but having everyone as new people and starting over with a new curse finding different versions of fairy tale characters. I mean I enjoyed it some but some it made me feel like a sequel to a great movie and the sequel wasn't quite the same and left you feeling disappointed.
