Such a sweetheart! And it must be difficult for her, if she sometimes believes she can fly;)

Baby Heartthrob is a cutie too though! They have that in common

Thanks everyone  I’ve packed down most of my stuff now. I haven’t lived with my collection in over 10 years, so that is a silver lining at least ;)

I don’t really have wall space either (lots of windows!), so I will have to downsize a little (but I have mostly childhoods so it’s not much!) and then clean out some other stuff I have in my storage space. I will make it work, and I’m thankful I don’t have a large collection. I’m always a little sad when selling cute ponies, so hopefully I will be able to keep most of them!

It helps to know I am not the only one in a situation like this!

Poor Pocahontas- I hope you’re successful! I remember how sad I was when something happened to my favorite toys. I’m sending your son happy thoughts!

Does anyone know if this is an issue with Pocahontas hair? Or just a random batch of bad hair?

Pony Corral / When your parents want you to move your pony collection…
« on: August 20, 2022, 03:27:23 AM »
What do you do?

I mean, I’m a grown up. OF COURSE if my parents want me to take it with me to my home I will do it. But I have no idea where to put it! After moving to my own (tiny) house I have been regularly taking with me stuff from my childhood and teenage years. I don’t have much storage space left because of this…. A lot of this stuff has been stored in my parents garage, except for my ponies. The main reason being temperature. I live in a place that gets warm in summer and really cold in winter. I’m worried how it will effect the plastic…

In my house I only have two small store rooms. One is combined with my washing machine, and everything that goes with it. The other I’m currently trying to get things out from since within a year I’m going to do some work on my house and this store room will need to go, and will be a part of a hallway. Hopefully I will have a small attic (really small) to store some things. But we are not there yet…. I don’t want to put them in my garage because of the temperature thing, and my garage is also unlocked.

What would you do? I don’t have a big collection- around 45 ponies and many of them are babies. But I do have my childhood Dream Castle, a lot of backcards and all pony accessories to the ponies I do have (and babies have a lot of accessories  ). I’m very conflicted.

So, where do you store your ponies? Have you moved your collection? Was it because you wanted to or because you needed to?

Off Topic / Re: Any Norwegian speakers here? + language nerd?
« on: August 20, 2022, 12:35:16 AM »
@ Taffeta: Norwegian is similar to Swedish and Danish. Very similar to Danish. We’ve been in unions with both countries throughout the years (only got our independence in 1905), so our languages has strongly influenced each other.

I find it very interesting how you learned Japanese. I am a language teacher, and use many of the same strategies for my students. It’s very few of us who thinks about grammar rules in languages we speak fluently. But we hear it immediately if someone speaks incorrectly. We often just know. To achieve fluency you have to use the language, listen to it.

I’ll check her tomorrow! And Firefly ;)

I know she was sold around the same time as the Play and Care babies (Gusty, Ribbon, Lickety etc). My sister had just received baby Gusty and I was jealous so when I got the chance to get a baby unicorn I grabbed it (literally  ). I don’t think the first set of baby ponies would have been in sale anymore at this time as boxed versions (but we did have the box version as well!).

Edit: I just checked both babies, and they have pat pend under their hooves. The same with my baby Ribbon (play and care version). However, baby Buttons did not. I also have the non-glittery version of baby Glory and baby Moondancer. I’ll check on them later. I don’t have them with me right now ;)

@Katrine, I am 99% sure you're right about the dark tulip Posey being in the Truly set, but that's not a widely distributed set in most parts of Europe. She was sold here in the set with Gypsy, Hopscotch, Honeycomb, UK CJ with the straight hair and Snowflake. I think in some other places she was sold in a set with Hopscotch, Snowflake, the Euro Lickety Split (dark symbols/curls/paler body) and Euro CJ (darker symbols/curls) and white Tootsie. I'm not 100% without looking it up whether that set would've been available for you or not.

She's no relation of the Movie Stars but her darker symbol is probably because Hasbro were printing darker symbols at that time for the SS set as well.

The Italian blue posey is gorgeous.

My sister also has a Posey army :) Her most recent addition was the Basic Fun one :)

We had both sets in Norway! I do see a lot of Hopscotch, white Tootsie and Snowflake second-hand so I think this set were more distributed. But the Truly set is not rare. The last couple of  months I’ve seen Truly come up in childhood collection sales 4-5 times. I’ve never found Cupcake though!

I have a Venezuelan Posey.  I think there are several versions.  The one I have is green with non-fading pink hair and fairly red flowers.  Her plastic is…odd. She looks like she’s made out of a slightly translucent lime candy.  Like some kind of less shiny gummi candy. It doesn’t come across well in photos, but it looks a bit off compared to regular MLP plastic.  It’s actually pretty awesome as far as I’m concerned!  I haven’t found a decent photo hosting site since Photobucket imploded, so sorry no photo.  I can email a photo of you want - just PM me.

Awesome! I’ve never seen this Posey before, She sounds really Cool!

Awesome! This is really good :)

I just spotted one thing; it says in «other releases» that baby ponies such as baby Glory, baby Moondancer etc were sold on card in Europe. And that those ponies had non-glittery symbols. I have a childhood Baby Glory bought on card, but WITH glittery symbols. The carded babies also had glitter symbols, but not all of them.

I am glad you enjoy the gallery

oooh! Your Baby Glory had glitter symbols? What are her hoof marks and where are you located (well, at the time when you got her) :D

Also do you know which other babies that has painted symbols were also sold with glitter symbols, but were sold carded?

I wanted to add those sets and ponies in the "other releases" section in to the gallery, as there are some common misconceptions about them still.

I have a feeling I have discussed these babies with you before katrine2309.

Love pkw xxx

We might have discussed them before  I am super interested in release history (such a nerd )

She is HK :) I remember buying her in store, so I’m very sure about her. Plus, I never had her accessories other than her random bottle. I also had baby Firefly, also HK with glittery symbols. I was young when I got her. Maybe between 4 and 5, so I don’t remember her card. But only had bottle for her too, never the accessories so I am fairly sure she also came on card. I’m in Norway, and I remember the baby ponies on card for a long time in store. I think it was baby ponies from the first baby set- but I can’t be 100% on that. They were probably sold around 1986-1988? Not sure though, that is just a wild guess based on what remember.

Love this!!

And perhaps do something with the intervals if possible? I felt like I breezed through them in the beginning, but I really felt like I was Mommy and Baby Pony for years
