It's not too surprising, My nephew lost interest in this like...a month after he got it for Christmas. It was a 'fad' game-play gimmick started by something else and disney adopted it, which was cool for awhile but then stores got over saturated with these. I went to a TRU that literally had a whole isle devoted to nothing but the figures, and there was only like...5 different ones altogether?!  I think they just kind of went overboard producing these, hoping to cash in more than they did. It is too bad for folks who're still fans of it though, it was a neat concept they just sort of...went overboard with it.

I had a peppermint crunch...it's really, really, really hard to describe the scent, I mean, it wasn't entirely 'peppermint' but there was like some vanilla-ly hint to it that wasn't entirely natural, but DANG if it didn't smell awesome. I'm trying to think of something else that smelled similar and I'm drawing a blank, but there was something else I had that smelled really similar. I might be thinking of 'sugar sweet' actually, I remember caramel crunch was like...sugar drenched popcorn or something.

I mean, obviously nothing about these smells was natural but dang, if Hasbro didn't do an awesome job of making them memorable...

I always confuse 'cherry treats' scent with cranberries as...well I swear her scent was closer to cranberry than cherry.

G1...I think nostalgia reigns supreme for me on these, a lot of fond memories I have as a kid was acquiring new ones, having both dream castles, looking through stores (child world, kiddie city back in the day...) with absolute awe and wonder at all the cool things they have. I remember even well into the early '90s, kiddie city had this clearance isle that had TONS of overstock of pony playsets and some ponies, too. I just like the look, I like how they pose, and I like how they make me smile when I look at them...and how they stand the test of time, even with some of the 'issues' they have, for the most part they're fixable, and people have done some ASTOUNDING things with ones that appear beyond hope.

G2...I confess that, much as I wanted to like these when they first came out, hitting KB hardest...I didn't like them, at all initially. It took a bit of time before I began to appreciate them. Their quality is pretty good, not quite on par with G1 but now yet reaching the lower standard of the last decade or so. The only thing i dislike about this line now...everything that came after it was discontinued in the US is so flippin' hard to get, and expensive.

G3 I was excited for these, when they first started releasing them on ebay I was thrilled that they looked closer to the original G1's. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed with the playsets, didn't like the first castle...just seemed so plain. The quality of the hair was really my only issue with these, it frizzes the second you take some of them out of the package, and just doesn't display well...But fortunately not all of them were like that, least ones I've gotten. The line had it's heyday for the first few years and just sort of...fizzled out, the death of it was near with the 'core 7', and I was pretty much done by then. I remember them fondly and there's still enough variety to be collecting for awhile!

G3.5...I don't acknowledge that these exist.

G4...pretty much just paste anything anyone else has already said about what they dislike about it, and that's me. I don't want to get too overly negative about it so I just won't say anything. :hmm: I just don't get why these are popular at all.

I have her G4 blind bag version, don't remember if I have her G3 version. It's weird when you forget what ponies you do and don't have.

I'm honestly just relieved to hear I'm not the only one who has that problem every so often.

I'm pretty sure I have her, the butterfly island themed line was just altogether awesome, everything that came from it was a must-have for me.

...One of the few SS things I don't have yet! :p, that was the only pony in the vintage line...think the bandai line had like, 12 altogether.

I hope it's G1 related!

Yea...if only.

Whatever it is, it'll be too expensive, I won't get it, then I'll forget about it until a pic of it pops up in a search fro something else on eBay.

 :hmm:

Those are Cuuuuute BBBT!!!!

My daughter just got some cute Care Bear Sewing patterns that she can stuff with cotton herself from Evilbunnyfoofoo. :lovey: Funshine, Playful Heart and Loyal Heart. Once my phone is outta the shop and she's sewn them up I'll post pics of em.

I know right? I love these new ones, they're my favorites of all the company's that've made them more recently.

Oh and neat! Are they newer patterns or older ones? I used to have the older care bears 'ornaments' patterns, wish I still did I made quite a few of those when I was younger, too.

...I want a 'Big Brother' themed shirt, I don't have this (I'm cheating a bit, I know) But I'd totally wear it if I did.

There's another one I always liked, very retro-80's-ish without looking too...well, girly for a guy to wear, but I forget what it was.

G1-2-3 everything as I find it anyways, I don't seek out the tie-in merchandise but if I find it I wouldn't pass it up.

I Put down 'Big brother hats' since...well, they're awesome, and I have a tex that's needed his for like a decade...

I'll mention interest in the lavender dream castle parts, too, I have two shells but barely any parts for one, none for the other...been using the pink dreams castles parts since those seem readily available by the barrel full. I had that castle as a kid, loved it...I remember very distinctly when I sold both pink and lavender castles at a flea market, the pink castle had no parts but the lav one had all of them (was bought new...) and someone wanted the pink castle, but not the lavender one...sooooooooooooooo, they took all the parts from it and stuck them with the pink castle without bothering to ask first. I wanted the money so didn't say anything...believe me if I could back in time and slap my childhood self I would. Or at the very least tell myself not to sell the parts

anyways, I do have one of the cups, I've seen that auction every so often...kind of bonkers to say the least.

Not to get TOO off topic (since these aren't in my collection...yet :p) But I nearly did a somersault when I saw this pic;

admittedly I've never been a big fan of 'play alongs' take on the bears, they just were never that great and their noble heart mini plush looked like a hippo...*lol* But I'm REALLY digging this companys take, and I love the brave-heart plush...almost as much as the vintage one. And true heart, too...

Still missing those elaborately detailed silk-screened tummy symbols of yesteryear though...

Have you guys seen the Care Cousins, they're putting in claw machines? They've got Lotsa Heart, Cozy Heart, Bright Heart, Brave Heart and I've seen one Swift Heart. Almost all my faves and they're in a stinkin claw machine! :(

I saw some of the care bears themselves last night, no cousins yet...I already learned my lesson not to bother with those things when they first started putting the care bears in there back in '05. So many lost quarters...

They're supposed to be coming out with 'actual' boxed plushes of the cousins, so I'll just wait for those, least I'll spend $20 and actually GET something :-p

A summer wing pony, Buzzer...I still remember when I came home with her. I remember that I got her at a garage sale many, many, many moons ago (we're talking like maybe a year after they came out originally) and I was hooked, I wanted MORE! But the summer wing ponies hold a special place in my heart just for that reason...I think I even went so far as to try and suspend her from the ceiling of my room with fishing line so it would be like she was 'flying'. I have no idea who came after but I'll always remember she was my first.

...as well, when I started coming across the 'flutter' ponies I always thought they were grown up version of the summer wings.
