First I have to say, I cannot get over how everyone on this forum is so kind and welcoming. Squeee! I've been posting my pony creations on IG and a few people told me about this magical place. I'm late in the game, but I'm so happy to join.
I'm 36, I live in the midwest of the US. I finished college with a degree in Sculpture and I work at a fabrication company that creates props and theme-ing elements for amusement parks, trade shows, libraries, museums; you name it I've done it. I fluffing love my job! My heart belongs to my baby sister, a sweet (older than God) pug called "James T. Pugman", and and my very favorite person, my husband of 3 years .
Ever since I can remember I've been playing with G1 ponys or begging my parents to buy me more. We didn't have a lot of money when I was young and now that I'm in charge I find that when I see a pony I won't hesitate to spoil myself. Watching the change in the generations, it's hard to pick a favorite, and I find the evolution fascinating. If i'm pressed to pick a one I have to say I enjoy sculpting with the G3 and collecting the G1 (those flocked ponies get me EVERYTIME- lookin at you girl, Paradise So Soft Pony!). The thought of MLPs as canvas made my brain squeak and my obsession has been ignited once again. Looking forward to beatboxing about ponys with you all.
Ice cream and sprinkles,
Exe

Welcome to the Arena! :hearts: :welcome: :cheer:
Your job sounds magical - I would love to spend my time making things like that! A neighbour of ours used to be a free-lance sculptor/prop-maker and her job took her all around the world making delicate things like lizard models for museums in Honk Kong to giant, fibreglass cows for the Mayor of London parade (the cows later lived in her front garden and became a local landmark until they fell to pieces with age!).
One of my first jobs was to help her construct a giant model of the AIDS virus (using thousands plastic beads melted together with solvent) which is now on display in a medical museum in London!
Looking forward to seeing some of your work here! :thumb:

Hello and welcome!
I second everyone else here, your job sounds amazing. It would be wonderful to see custom ponies by you, or you could even post some of your work in the Arts & Crafts Corral if it's something you may share online - we welcome non-pony art, too. :art:
Enjoy the forums! :arena:

Oh! Cool job! There are loads of crafty people on here, and we would love to see some of what you do. And so softs! I like them. The first one I got, my sister wouldn’t touch because she thought the fluff was mould. Silly...

Sounds like your job is so much fun to do. It's like you almost go on a mini adventure every day you create a new prop. Hope you have an amazing time exploring the forum and look forward to hearing how your collection continues to grow :)
