Pony Corral / Pony Mania Queen Chryssalis question

So this pony finally arrived at my house from the French Toys'R'us website after lots of trouble.
Spoiler
The package was believed to be lost and customer service wouldn't just give me the package number when my post office needed it to see where she was. Then the package suddenly got returned to them and I had to buy her again after a refund because they couldn't just send the package back to me for some reason. It was a mess.
After she arrived I pressed the button to hear her talk. I know she has a variety of different quotes, but when I pressed the button on her flank, I only hear two options: the maniacal laughter and the magical whooshing sounds to which her wings light up. I thought this was strange since I own the Nightmare Moon version of this line and she says all of her intended quotes while in the package.

My guess would be that something is wrong with the demo batteries included. But I'm not sure if a low battery could result in only two quotes being said. I'd rather not  take her out of her box to try other batteries though.

Another possibility that came to mind (which I hope isn't the case) is that the European Stores sell a different Chrysallis who doesn't have any quotes other than those two things. I did notice a difference in the back of the package. Most of the Chrysalises I saw in reviews have this version of the back:

While mine looks more accurate to the toy:

So I was wondering what you guys think. Is my Chrysalis low on batteries, defective or is she just a different version alltogether?

I recently bought a few G1's and one of them was this pony:

I've already tried looking her up on the usual sites but I can't seem to find her anywhere. I know she's an Italy pony from 83' but that's it. So does anyone know who she is?

Pony Brag Arena / More ponies! (all gens)

This weekend I went to a convention (I guess you could call it my country's equivalent of Comic Con). While I was looking around, I caught sight of a familiar looking box being sold at a booth with MLP merchandise. Low and behold, it was the Ponymania Collection I had been wanting for a long time :dribble:. In Europe, the cheapest price I could find for it was 90$, and with all those jacked up prices at conventions I feared it would cost even more. But nope, it only cost 30$ :D I bought it immediately and grabbed a big pinkie pie too. I thought it couldn't get better than this, but then I passed by a booth that sold old toys. I took a look around and found 2 boxes overflowing with G1 ponies

Needless to say I dove right in. The prices were okay (5$ for G1 ponies, 2$ for G2, 3$ for G1 babies and seaponies and 6$ for small flutterponies, regardless of their condition). Unfortunately, because there were so many ponies, buying them all wasn't an option. So I selected the prettiest ponies that had the best condition. Sadly I'm too unfamiliar with rare ponies so I hope I didn't miss out on a good deal. This is the result:

When I finally came home on sunday after this tiring weekend, my parents had another surprise for me. They went to a fleamarket and found someone selling an entire box of MLP stuff for only 3$ , a big Pinkie Pie, two baby ponies and two G3 plushies. They bought them for me since it was cheap. The box included 2 G1's, 5 G2's, a G3 baby, My Pretty Parlor, some other accessories and the Celebration Castle's furniture. My mom also saw Cadence and Rainbow Rocks Rarity on sale at a toy store and brought them along too.

I already own the castle with everything included, so I'll probably sell the furniture soon to someone who can use it :) I also have a big Pinkie already, but this one is in better condition. If the new Pinkie also speaks Dutch, I'll keep her and sell the other one. :)

Before this weekend I assumed my biggest MLP highlight would've been being able to finally wear the Pinkie Pie cosplay I made :P Glad I was proven wrong. :)

Pony Brag Arena / It was a very good weekend
« on: September 14, 2015, 04:30:05 AM »
On saturday I felt like hunting some ponies, so I decided to go to my local thrift store first thing in the morning since I usually always find a pony or two there. It seems I arrived at a very good time, because instead of the usual small amount of ponies I could find in the box of old toys, there seemed to be ponies scattered all over the store. I got a few strange looks from other customers as I almost ran through the store, snatching pony items left and right as I passed through the isles, but it was all worth it. I got 18 ponies in total, a giant talking Pinkie Pie, a twist and style petal parlor and plenty of accessories that match with some of the ponies I bought.  Had to take 6 fakies as well because they were included in some pony bags.

I ended up paying 45$ for everything. Unfortunately my thrift store seems to have realised the ponies are still worth something and have driven up the price a bit (might be because they know I'll often come by to buy them ) since last time. But I suppose it's still reasonable since many ponies still have their accessories and they were all in good condition (aside from one Zipzee whose head is almost torn off).

While I was marveling over my new ponies that evening, my dad came by and told me there would be a big flea market the next day and offered to drive me there so I could continue my pony hunting. I went and began to think I went for nothing because I could only find fakies. But after an hour, I found a street where almost every person was selling a few ponies.  Ended up with 16 ponies (one mcDonalds pony is still in a box in this picture), 2 baby ponies, a twilight sparkle bag, a dvd of the first mlp movie and a small box filled with Majesty's accessories.

Got all of this for about $20 (note to self: go to more flea markets, your wallet will thank you).

The only thing that was slightly annoying was that I didn't get Baby Pinkie's original bottle. The lady selling her told me she had her original baby bottle, but after a quick glance she told me she couldn't find it immediately and handed me a random baby bottle, telling me that it would work with that one too. I would've liked to have the original one but it looked like the lady couldn't be bothered so I left it at that. :( I might find it at some other flea market I suppose.

I'm really happy I found so many ponies in one weekend ^^ I'm running out of space though, so It'll be a challenge to display all these lovelies

Introductions / hiya there :)
« on: September 02, 2015, 11:54:06 AM »
Hi everyone,
I'm a Belgian student who recently got back into her pony craze.

I started collecting G2 and G3 ponies when I was about 10 years old (most of my spending money went to ponies) but quit when I was 14 because school and other occupations made me lose interest. While digging through my attic last month I stumbled upon my old pony collection. I fell in love with them all over again and have decided to continue my collection.  :)

I collect mostly G1, G2 and G3 ponies. My favourite gen would be G2. I like G4 as well (big fan of the show) but I'm not too crazy about the regular pony toys (they're so tiny ). It didn't stop me from getting a few ponies of my favourite G4 characters though.

I currently have well over 60 ponies from all different gens, together with few houses, dolls, baby ponies and plushies. I guess I'm off to a good start already, but there's always room for more ^^

So yeah, I hope to get in touch with some fellow collectors on this forum :)
