I've seen the "firemen that don't put out fires" thing before, I think it's because firemen are apparently popular with little kids, but fires are usually a bit too serious for these kind of series? It amuses me.

It makes you wonder how they came up with the concept for Fireman Sam really, doesn't it...

I just think the things that happen in the comic are so detached from common sense that as an adult reading them they are hilarious.

VanillaBean:
Perhaps Majesty should punish Chief for squandering Ponyland's valuable resources on petty daily tasks. :silly:
Then again, the poor guy must have a lot of spare time on his hooves if there are never any fires to actually deal with. He has to keep himself busy somehow!

Thanks for sharing.

Ninox:
Sort of reminds me of Pleasantville, where two teenage siblings get sucked into a 1950s-era TV show that is so squeaky clean and innocent that when a fire breaks out, the firemen drive their truck there and just stare at it, not knowing what to do. Then the boy from the real world yanks a hose from the truck and starts spraying water at the fire and one of the firemen says, "Oh, so that's what those things on our trucks are for!"
