Wanted! / I'm looking for A LOT! (G1 mostly, G2, G3 + non-MLP!!)
« on: February 17, 2022, 01:50:44 PM »

I am NOT a picky collector. Haircuts, in need of deep cleaning, deflocking, and even minor (permanent) stains & minor cancer are okay! My biggest thing I'm picky on is head/body mismatch. That I just can't seem to get over.

If it says "good+ condition" or "excellent+ condition",  it's because I already have that pony and I just want to upgrade. Otherwise flaws and restoration projects are fine!

Pony Corral / G1 MLP Movie Stickers
« on: February 03, 2022, 11:57:45 AM »
The G1 movie stickers that come in yellow packs that say 29 cents, made in Italy in 1986, and that put together make scenes from certain episodes...

First... how many are there?!

I got 5 packs and I think the highest number on the back was something like 159. I wanna buy a lot more packs because I'd love to complete the images but I don't know how many there are!

Second... does it create scenes from multiple episodes? Or multiple scenes from one episode?

Pony Corral / Mail order sparkle ponies question
« on: May 30, 2021, 07:23:19 PM »
I was just wondering what year mail order ponies were released? I have a mail order sunspot for sale and I always include the generation, the year, and the year it was stamped.

I'm having trouble seeing what the stamp says on the bottom of her hoof

So:
Generation 1, year 2, made in 1983

Pony Corral / Baby Lemon Drop questions
« on: May 20, 2021, 02:10:21 PM »
Someone that I follow on Instagram recently received a baby lemon drop. She was wondering if it was the Spanish version because hers has no country on the bottom of the hooves.

The hooves DO still say...
Front right: "1984 Hasbro"
Front left: "pat pend"

I thought the Spanish version wouldn't say hasbro?

Unfortunately I have yet to add baby lemon drop to my collection so I don't have one to compare her with and finding pictures of just the bottom of her hooves hasn't worked.

So does the standard baby lemon drop not have a country listed on the bottom of her hooves? Or does it indeed make her the Spanish version?

Off Topic / Shipping horror stories
« on: May 12, 2021, 01:24:29 PM »
Even before the pandemic, I'm sure many people have had terrible experiences when it comes to shipping. Whether you're the seller or you're the buyer eagerly awaiting your newest toy, I want to hear your horror stories. Let it off your chest!

Since I sell hundreds of different brands and toy lines, I ship items 5 to 6 days a week. So to say I have plenty of these experiences is a true understatement. And I've been on both the end of being the person sending as well as the person receiving.

It doesn't matter which end you're on, it sucks!!

A couple of months ago I had an issue with tracking numbers not updating for days. So it would look like my package isn't even dropped off at the post office yet and then when they would update the package would already be halfway to where it needed to be or even already delivered. It stopped doing it for a few weeks and I guess it started up again about a week ago. Since it was happening with five different packages, there was one package that I didn't think anything extra about.

I guess it's a good thing there's a post office just a block from my work. Not just because I usually have to drop off new shipments everyday, but because that means the employees there see me regularly. I have natural red hair and I think that makes me easily recognizable. People remember me after I've only been inside their store once or twice before. And on top of that I always come around the same time, Monday through friday, and I almost always use purple envelopes.

Well I guess some brilliant person decided it would be okay to put something sharp inside of an envelope. Of course it ripped through. And unfortunately there were some other packages that got damaged because I put my packages through a dropbox instead of dropping them off at the counter usually. I pay for my shipping labels on pirateship.com so that I can ship with you USPS but get a retailer discount. And since I've already purchased the shipping label, I don't have to wait in line.

So all of these packages are basically just inside of a box on the other end of the compartment where you drop them into. So here they are bouncing around, with some sharp object flashing into them. The envelope the items were in and the shipping label were completely obliterated. I was devastated when she told me because of course I'm picturing the worst case scenario because that's just what I do *shrugs*

She goes to find my package and she comes back with it and I am so incredibly thankful that I tend to be overly cautious when shipping things. Anytime my mom has seen me wrap something she always laughs at me because I feel any opening with tape because I'm always worried that a liquid were to spill or where to rain that the water could get in and ruin the item. Even though my items are inside of sealed baggies. I'm telling you, I'm overly cautious.

So I really wrap these two dolls in a lot of bubble wrap and I couldn't be happier that I did. Whatever it was slit the bubble wrap only slightly. Meaning the dolls were totally unharmed.

I was still really upset though and I was telling the woman that I felt bad because this should have already been delivered and here it was sitting at the post office the entire time. But thankfully she was incredibly nice and told me that by the time I got off of work she would still be there and since my husband was picking me up that day I had him bring new shipping supplies and reprint the shipping label. She told me to wait in line and make sure that I was helped by her so I had to let a couple of people behind me going in front of me, both who gave me a strange look haha but when I got up to her she was super sweet, remember me immediately, and promise she was immediately walking the item back so that it could get shipped out on the next possible truck.

In the end, definitely not my worst experience by any means. My heart just sunk when I found out something had torn into the envelope. I was just thinking the worst, picturing the dolls completely destroyed.

Again, definitely not my only bad experience, and this one really wasn't all that bad since in the end it worked out fine. I just feel really crappy that I didn't call to verify everything was okay with each package. I used to do that when the tracking numbers weren't updating after 4 days, but because that happened for two months straight, and every single time they told me the item was on its way and just the website wasn't updating the tracking numbers, I just got out of the habit of doing it. I was always getting the same answer and waiting on hold for over an hour almost every single time just to be told the exact same thing: "your packages are here, here, and there and they will update as soon as the site catches up"

But this made me want to ask people what stories they have!

And have any of you experience issues with tracking lagging on updating using usps? How long did it happen for you and is it currently happening to you?

Pony Corral / What's that symbol mean?
« on: May 04, 2021, 11:05:59 AM »
So I stumbled across another person's thread identifying a pony and people were discussing how the cutie mark doesn't make any sense with the name. It was for a newer generation pony and the name was princess lily, but her cutie mark was of a gear with a couple hearts in the middle. At least that's what it looked like to everyone (me included).

So I thought it would be fun to list some ponies that automatically come to mind when I think of cutie marks not matching the names, and see what you guys think is the meaning of the symbols.

Does the symbol actually match the name and I'm just missing something? Or what do you think they were thinking at the time they decided on such a strange symbol for the name?

AND PLEASE SUBMIT ANY OTHERS YOU CAN THINK OF!!!

For me, these ponies come instantly to mind:
(PS: these are G1 ponies)

- Sprinkles
- Firefly
- Sundance
- Teeny weeny Whiskers
- Cotton Candy
- Butterscotch

Off Topic / Trouble with mlptp?
« on: April 25, 2021, 06:26:06 PM »
Is anyone else having any issue with mlptp?

I have an important message I really need to get to as soon as possible and I just can't get the site to load. I've tried on both my phone and my laptop. Thought something was wrong with my internet but then I noticed I was able to go to any other site without problem. I even started typing in random Google searches to make sure everything was running smoothly and going to various sites and other social media. Everything else is running great but every time I go there it just keeps loading and loading as if there's no internet connection.

I'm hoping it's not something just wrong on my end, so I'm wondering if anybody else is having any problems?

Pony Corral / Question: determining the correct year
« on: April 18, 2021, 12:35:06 PM »
I have to use mylittlewiki for information, but I've noticed a lot of times the dates on the bottom of the hooves are always the second of the two dates given. And that includes when I have multiple of the same pony, because I'll check just in case some are marked with one date and the others the next.

For example, it'll say that the pony was made in:
1986-1987

And that means every single pony I have of that exact pony, and this instance it was up up and away (of which I have four - I collect & sell), is Marked 1987

Doesn't matter which pony it is though, at the bottom of the page it'll say from 1 year to the next, and I've noticed the pony is always marked with the second year provided.

1984-1985 (pony is marked 1985)
1986-1987 (pony is marked 1987)

Is it because the ponies were released in the getting of 1986 and we're sold throughout 1987? Or was it that they were released at the end of 1986 and went until the end of 1987?

And then my second question is, since the ponies came out in 1982, that means if a pony came out in 1985 that it's year should be stated as year 4. Since a pony made in 1982 would be year one, so whatever the last number of the year is, the year the pony is made is just the number subtracted by one.

Sorry I'm probably making this so complicated and I don't need to but hey here we are haha

So if Mark 1987, wouldn't that mean up up and away is a year six pony? Because on their page it says she's a year five pony. But again, aren't the ponies made in 1982 Year One ponies?

I just need help with this because when I sell them I always write in the following way:

Vintage My Little Pony by Hasbro
Generation one, year 6, made in 1987
Twice As Fancy "Up Up and Away"
*Actual description here*

So any information on how all of that works would be awesome and hopefully I didn't confuse anyone too too much!

Pony Corral / Is only BBE Sundance stamped China?
« on: April 15, 2021, 11:09:40 PM »
So you may or may not know, some ponies will be stand with Hong Kong in the exact same pony will be stamped with china. For example, summer Wing pony High Flyer can be stamped with either Hong Kong or China. There are very subtle differences in the two, and it's usually that one is just a little chunkier than the other. I'm taking pictures of items I'll be selling and I noticed as I was photographing the bottoms of the feet on some of my beddy bye eye baby ponies, that Sundance is stamped with China. The rest were Hong Kong.

I checked all of my beddy bye eye ponies that are for sale, including two Sundance. Unfortunately my pony room / office plan isn't going to happen as originally planned due to now needing to share the room with someone, so all of that stuff got put on hold and therefore my ponies are still mostly packed away :( so I did not check my own set of beddy bye eye ponies.

But from the 20 or so that I have for sale, the only two that had China stamped on the bottom of their feet, are the two Sundance.

So is there a beddy bye eye baby Sundance that is stamped Hong Kong? Or are there others in the line that are stamped China? Or is it just Sundance stamped with China?

Pony Corral / Baby Stockings: 1984 or 1990-91 ???
« on: February 04, 2021, 03:36:36 PM »
On the bottom of baby stocking's hoof, she is stamped 1984. However on mylittlewiki she is mentioned to be the last mail order baby pony for the G1 line and was released between 1990 and 1991 through a Kellogg's cereal special offer. I know there are quite a few ponies listed on mylittlewiki who are stamped one thing but mentioned as a different year. it's usually just one year off; such as having the pony stamped 1985 but being mentioned as a pony released in 1986. I wasn't sure if the stamp was simply because they were produced at that time, yet not released until the year mentioned, or if it was just a mistake since (as I think we should all know by now) basically anyone can edit the information on Wikipedia pages and therefore people can write things based on opinion or what they believe, as opposed to actual facts that have been checked and verified.

But being stamped 1984 and not being released until 1990 is a pretty big jump.

so are the dates on the bottom of their hooves seemingly useless for the most part? Or are they typically accurate but occasionally dated differently than the year of their release?

Which way is more common?

And also was baby stockings really not released until 1990?

Pony Corral / Factory error? Pink and white pupil Starflower
« on: January 15, 2021, 09:00:41 PM »
I have two Rainbow Pony "Starflower" currently. One has white pupils and one has pink pupils. It's definitely the same paint as the eye paint so it isn't something drawn on with marker by a child nor is it spread anywhere else on the face or eye.

Could this be a factory error?

If someone has a website I can use to upload pictures AND get a URL, and then explain how to insert photos into these threads (I used [ img ] URL here [ / img ] and it didn't work???) not only would I GREATLY, greatly, greatly appreciated, but then I could also show everyone!

Thanks either way! 🙃

Pony Corral / One says 87, one says 83??
« on: January 15, 2021, 08:23:49 PM »
I'm going through all of my ponies and cataloging/making a list of them. I have them categorized based on which line they came from (i.e. Rainbow Ponies, Sweetheart Sisters, etc.). I just finished my Loving Family Ponies and two sets of the parents don't have matching dates. Not even close haha

I actually just checked one of the babies and he doesn't even match date wise 🤔

For example:
Daddy Sweet Celebrations is marked 1987
Mommy Sweet Celebrations is marked 1983
Baby boy Sweet Celebrations is marked 1986

Does this just mean they were re-released multiple times, during different years, and these are just not the ones that originally came together? So a mom, a dad, and a son each from separate families/purchases/boxes?
