Off Topic / Re: Where do you go to make new friends as an adult?
« on: September 22, 2019, 12:14:28 PM »
Ah, the great mystery of adult life.

I short not a clue. My "friend" group consists of a few people I work with and we dont really communicate or see each other out of work. Art is my only hobby that probably has clubs that get me out of the house, but theres few where I live on at times I can get too, bar one where everyone is old enough to be my grandparent. (They are all lovely people though.)  Facebook groups are a great way to meet local people who may have similar interest and want to have meets ups or what ever, but I'm personally behining to find with the things I'm interested in, I'm older than a lot of them and it just makes me feel like a wierd old lady  -_-

I think, working age adult loneliness is a real thing, you lose all your teen/early adult friends and it would then appear you make none again until you retire.

Not exactly helpful, but I completely share your sentiment of HOW! How do you make friends???

I can't remember details, but I do remember that I had swapped shifts with a lady at work and gone to a nature reserve. There was a very chatty velocaraptor there. He had a lot to say for himself.

I found an eyelashless, symbol less piggy pony. So decided to draw on her butt and give her some nice lipstick with a felt pen. Then, 10 years later found out what she was! I've managed to fade most of the pen now and done her hair for her again. I do have very old photos from when I first realised she may be legit and could get more of her slightly improved.

I had intended on repainting her symbols correctly this time but, I love her as she is.

Tough call, but I think Afi and Ekua are my all-time favorites:

tuneful87, I adore many, many of your dolls. You do have some of the most spectacular and unique bjd's, but these two are my favorites. They're just amazing.

I've loved looking at everyone's dollies. Im always trying to convince myself not to get into doll collecting. But the more I see dolls on here the more I'm struggling to fight it. Especially pullip/blythe type dolls that have been so beautifully customised ...

It's moment like these where I'm happy to say ... Fairyland dolls don't really do it for me! Yay for not being even tempted to use my money.

I have an adorable Hujoo Freyr sitting beneath my Christmas tree that I can't open for 26 more days. :P
I'm so excited!  ...And impatient. lol

When my Lupy arrived my mum asked if I wanted it for Christmas and I almost threw a temper. There was no way I could have been that patient!

I cannot use the desktop version of photo bucket anymore and haven't been able to for years. The mobile app is fine to use though.

I'll just stick to my guinea pigs for now I guess.

Guinea Pigs are also super cute! I think I saw them being called 'furry little potatoes' once.  :P

Lol I'm always calling them potatoes with faces :D they are super cute and sweet. But I do love how clever rats are :)

Yeah I don't remember so much with MySpace, but do remember there being loads of yahoo and live journal groups. Those were the days.

Gemini_pony your boys are so handsome. I love Siamese/Californian/Himalayan markings on rat and small animals in general. It's so striking. I've never had rats of my own but I'm a big fan. We have rats at the shelter I work at and they always find new homes to quickly, they are such popular pets. I'd love to have some one day, bit as everyone else has said .. their lifespan is so short I'm not sure I could deal with it. I'll just stick to my guinea pigs for now I guess.

Ordered the Dearmine Lupy dear bean in Ash skin ... because a grey axlotl doll absolutely must be part of my collection. He is gonna look so cute with the frogs! http://www.dearminedoll.com/lupy-cool-ver.-ash-skin-2016autumn.html so so cute.
oh
My
GOSH...  :whoa:

I am literally staring at the screen with my mouth open now, and have been for minutes :dropjaw: :dropjaw: :dropjaw:

when I think I am OK with just looking at BJDs, when I have made peace with the thought of never owning one (it's not the price. I could always save up if I wanted to), and be happy with "just" articulated playline dolls, something like this comes.
oh my... just oh my *making baby sounds at the pictures* :3 :lovey: :lovey: :lovey:
and... frogs. wait, what, frogs, you say!? could you please post some pics of those frogs?

(ok, maybe I shouldn't have asked that. frogs and axolotls...I'm doomed. these may very well be the ones I can't resist)

Looks I spent like a decade being happy just looking. And then I saw the Pipes aloha froggy and saved up and bought her. My guys are like the 5th or 6th post down on this page :

they are so cute. I love them.

Also, my Lupy was shipped today! :D

Fluttershy without a doubt. In pretty much any size. She is the only mane 6 pony I purposefully buy. In fact I don't think I even have twighlight sparkle ...

Thought I'd report that  the 6 pack of the big power ponies has been reduced to £30 in Tesco. Which is bit if a bargain when the brushables singles are still over £6.

Mum just got me one for Christmas :D
