Hydrogen Peroxide Fading--How to?
« on: May 26, 2012, 06:25:07 PM »
Hello!
I just got a G1 Chief that has some spots (possibly cancer, but looks more like rust spots) and I was wondering if someone could link me to a good tutorial on how to use hydrogen peroxide to fade the spots (if it will work on rust spots). It seems like everyone does it differently.
Thanks a bunch!  ^.^

I would doubt that he has rust - Chief is notoriously prone to cancer/ageing so I would have to guess that thats what the poor man is suffering from.

You are right people go about trying [some successfully, some not so successful] to fade the marks in different ways. You wont manage to remove the cancer but you may manage to fade the brown which the plastic breakdown has resulted in.

These are the only HP tutorials I know off the top of my head - although they deal more with removing yellowing than cancer spots but HP baths are really the best and safest way to use this option.

Sadly HP fading won't remove the spots but it will make them more tolerable. My Baby Moondancer is a great example of this. I can say one thing though if you use this treatment... Do not put the pony out in the sun after HP baths.. Said pony will get 'sunburned' and make him or her look worse, I should know I've made that error x.x
My DeviantArt, why not drop by and take a look!

I saw what success you had with baby Moondancer, and that's why I wanted to try it on my Chief! She looks so much better now. c:
And, thank you for the warning! o3o

Thank you so much for the links, Hathorcat!
