Something old, something new...

Hi ponies, long time no see! It's been a long while since I last had the chance to work on a custom pony, real life has kept me way too busy. Before this break I had almost exclusively made customs for other people: commissions, swaps, gifts. I wanted to make something for myself, and even though I did not get to keep this pony either, she is a very personal custom. Meet Bouquet - my - well, wedding bouquet.

I got married on Sept 3rd. Bouquet was my secret tossing bouquet and her symbol was modelled after my real bouquet (see below), which was made by a local paper flower artist. As it was not made for tossing, I needed a separate tossing bouquet and I thought, why not. Some of our guests knew about my pony hobby and revealing the pony evoked some very excited squeals. The lucky winner was my sister-in-law!

The base was Pony Bride, a double from my collection with some blue staining on her ears. Her hair was in a decent shape so I didn't bother to replace it, I just detinseled her and added a few plugs of orange and green to match the symbol and eyes. Her blush is original, too. I gave her a new symbol (DS side only, NDS was left blank) and eyes and added paper flowers in her hair. The flowers were wrapped around wire inserted through the plug holes. There are some individual roses in her mane as well, too bad I didn't take more photos.
