Do you think there are Hasbro SPIES here ?

Well, I thought about it, and it's not so crazy...

Have you ever wondered if there were, here in the arena, members like us who are in fact 'Hasbro spies' ?

Our MLParena is a huge, worldwide, well-known MLP collectors forum. Why wouldn't it be possible that some Hasbro's people are members here, just to observe us, to know what we think, what we want, as collectors ?

I mean, we're MLP former customers, aren't we ? We follow MLP for like 25 years, and more, and we still BUY (and now we're grown-up adults, with adult money)
That should be a good part of the market, and probably Hasbro know it.

Some things make me think like that :

Why did we cried out loud for blue, and yellow G4, and 'BAM', they're the next wave, not even one is pink this time !
Why did we loved Lyra in the show, though she was a nameless background girl, and 'BAM' she's real ! What about DJ unicorn ? And Zecora ?
Why did we named the unknown taobao pink unicorn 'Cherry Pie' (which is, we have to admit, a very simple name in front of every other G4 names) when she wasn't released, and had no box or what and 'BAM' she's named Cherry Pie on her box, months later.

Coincidences ?
Or is Hasbro here ?

What is your point ?

Aside from that, I'm not sure.. it could either be that Hasbro have already had a brief on creating a greater colour range of ponies (not all little girls love pink!) and responded with these new toys, and with acknowleding Trixie, DJ Pon-3 and Lyra's names, they are tipping the hat to fans as they did with Pony initially, which acknowledges the adult following..

I can't say there's an absolute certainity that the above is the case, though. As we are a huge part of the pony market (the Arena being one of the biggest international collectors forums around!), perhaps they have realised such and taken heed.

I am not particularly concerned.. as long as we get some new ponehs.

I'd be suprised if someone at Hasbro didn't check up on places like the Arena once in a while, just to get the lay of the land, but spies? No.

Who's Sephora? Anyway, while I think they might read topics on here occasionally, I don't think we're the reason they released Lyra, Trixie, DJ P0N-3, etc. They tend to listen to whoever is the loudest, which is the Bronies. I think they follow other sites like Equestria Daily more than they do the Arena. Not that it's a bad thing, mind you, it's just how it is. Although, they still don't listen to adult fans too much since their child demographic is their main one, which is why we keep getting pink ponies, especially unicorns as well as way too many playsets and accessories. I really do wish they'd listen about us wanting Minty. And while they're at it, it would be nice if the other non-US bonus ponies were released here as well. I don't think there's much we can do about the duplicate bonus ponies or the accessories because that's intended for the little kids, but the other stuff would make sense for them to do.

Oh, and I hope if Hasbro is here, then they at least should know about the poor quality control on the G4s, so hopefully they can fix the problems eventually. And not by sending us old G3.5s as replacements when we send factory error ponies back, either. We know the difference.

Yeah, probably. I wouldn't call them spies. They're probably swingin' by to get a lay of the land, not for any malicious reasons, just 'cause it's good market research. The Arena and the Trading Post are part of the demographic that makes up the core pony purchasers. It'd make perfect sense for them to peruse the Arena and the Trading Post on a consistent basis.

The word 'spy' is maybe a bit hard, sure, but I use it to make a better picture of my idea.

Of course they keep an eye on us to make sure we aren't violating copyrights or planning something evil behind their back.    Besides if anyone was an insider, they would be signing a contract that prohibits the sharing of information.

You know, I bet there are people checking in here every so often. Seeing some of the new G4 blind bag ponies that are coming out like Waterfire, seem to suggest they know people love her lots.


I think they have been spying more on Equestria Daily though. Evidence! :


1. Trixie and Lyra are aaaallllll over the place there, and voila! They are becoming brushables.
2. Why does Equestria Daily get full spoilers of all new blind bag sets before anyone else sees them? They look like official photos that Hasbro purposely leaked to them, not just something they randomly found on Chinese websites.


We need to drop some more hints:  Hasbro, we looooove G1's too and would loooove a set of G1 characters in G4 form

I'd love to see some G1s turned into G4s. I know they've lost the rights to most of the names but they could always..Y'know...Be renamed and have their symbols altered a little bit.
