Title: Star Dreams is rare, but is she loved?

There exists a g4 toyline pony filly named Star Dreams, who has only been released thrice (Sweet Slumbers Playset with Applejack, Cutie Mark Crusaders and Friends set, and the Cutie Mark Magic Pony Spa with Rarity and Rainbow Dash.) She's pretty rare, but I adore her to bits. Even made a fanclub (along with a fanfic and numerous theories and headcanons) for her
https://mlpforums.com/topic/148656-star-dreams-fanclub/ (https://mlpforums.com/topic/148656-star-dreams-fanclub/)
But no one seems to know she exists or appreciate this lovely little filly. I count myself fortunate that I happened to find her at Kohl's a few years back, in the pony spa set, because she's adorable!
Does anyone else have this filly in their collection? Am I the only one nuts enough to create theories, fanclub's, fanfics, fanart, and headcanons for this toyline exclusive pony? (And if anyone would, at the least like to do fanart of her, I wouldn't complain...)

Shes really cute but... too plain for my taste. I like her colors but I feel pink / blue / purple has been released so many times, its hard to stand out when you come in these colors. Plus, she does not have a cutie mark. I like the idea of babies not having their cutie marks right from the start but its just hard to remember a pony just by its colors (especially when they are common).
I really like her and have her in my collection (Sweet Slumbers Playset with Applejack MIB) but shes just not my favourite. :)

Oh I like her colors. However I don't really remember seeing her before. She's a little generic as far as color schemes go.

I really love her too :D  I've always been surprised that she's not more exspensive given her rarity   I can't say I'm crazy enough about her to make a fanclub, but she has been a character on my YouTube channel before  ;)

She's very cute. I haven't seen her before. But there are unfortunately a lot of ponies in each generation who are underappreciated.

I only recently found out about her, and she'd be cute in my collection, especially as I don't have any G4 babies. Though any non-mane 6 G4 has my attention!

I have never heard of nor seen her. However, I would love to have one as a herd member. She may look generic, but sometimes generic might be good. As we know nothing about her, the possibilities of who she is and what she could do are almost unlimited.

I have all 3 releases of her, but that's about as crazy as I get. I do love her color scheme, and no cutie mark (plus does she even pop up on the show?) means I've gotten to give her a personality myself that I feel suits her.

looking through a list of MLP Wiki (for G4) she is not shown on that list so I don't really think she pops up in the show at all but who knows for sure

I didn't think she did but I tend to miss a lot of background characters until people point them out.

really? I can't recall  any g4 filly with the same colors. The adults, maybe (though I'm quite certain that only Pinklestia has the same coat and mane colors as Star Dreams), which - might I add, also leads to some interesting theories....

There's three and a half other generations of ponies out there :) Pink/purple/blue is very "generic MLP". The shades used for her are pretty, don't get me wrong, but she doesn't stand out at all.

seeing as how I'm hunting for her other two variants (Luna willing), I'm glad she isn't more expensive, actually. She's steep enough as it is.
Pity, her fanthread is just as cute as she is.

oh, I know the colors saturate previous generations. I was talking about as far as g4 went, her colors are unique. At least in my opinion.

I think she's cute. Her colors are overdone though and with no symbol to set her apart due to Hasbroken's laziness, I could easily see her getting lost in the shuffle.

siiigh. Boy, don't I know it. Would be much if they all did. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to draw any attention to this rare, but adorable pony on other boards. Even in her own fanclub.

she was a tough find, in the U.S., for me. I only happened to come across her by chance, when she was in the Rainbow Rocks spa set with RD and AJ. (Only one set on the shelf, too)! Hopefully you can find her elsewhere, without too high of a pricetag.

I rather like that she lacks a cutie mark. More possibility for her, and easier- for those of us (me) doing fanfiction of her, more wiggle room for shaping her character.
Plus, I'm not too keen on the idea of cutie marks in general. Feels like control mechanisms.

my thoughts exactly! I'm entertaining a few theories and headcanons about her, personally. From her being sister of Sunset Shimmer and Sunburst, to her being born from dream crafting by the Nyx (mlp comics).
The possibilities are endless!

there are wiki lists for pegasi/earth/and unicorns from the series, along with every pony who shows up in the IDW comics, and I can say with certainty (and a heavy heart) that Dreamydreams doesn't appear on any of the lists.

I generally think of her as being Starlight Glimmer's sister, which is why we haven't seen her in the show. She's in another village.

At first I wanted her, however, I'm falling out of love for G4. I do like her colors but I agree with them being kind of generic. The reason her colors are not used for any other fillies is because Hasbroken only made a select few.. The CMC trio, the snob duo, Twist-a-loo, and Star Dreams (as far as brushables go).. as far as the show, Flurry Heart's colors are close... Other than that I'm sure we'll see her color scheme on some foals later if the show continues. The toys not so much since Hasbroken does like to stick to core characters (though that is not to say that there isn't an adult pony toy or show character that doesn't share her colors XD I just don't have time to look lol)

She was expensive for a little while- when she came only in that UK playset.

But then there was another release with her, then another.  And there were for a while at least, many many of them on Taobao.

So I think that is why her price is not that great.  I have a handful of them myself..  I think she's cute.

I think she was probably going to be Cadence's filly, but they decided to go another direction...

Never heard of her before now, thanks for sharing her with me.

She's very cute! Always happy to meet another blank flank.  Same colors as Pinklestia?  Hm...that IS interesting...

It's not just you, lots of people like to make up stories etc about their ponies which is way better than just having them sitting around and looking at them like I do, haha.

A lot of G1s were underappreciated at the time, too and become HTF later as a result so....maybe Star Dreams is going to be like Mimic 30 years from now.  Buy her up while you can!

I love Star Dreams, she's my favorite filly. I have 2 of her releases, the slumber set with AJ and the school set. A few years ago she was very sought after when she was in the slumber set. I remember when I found it I completely embarrassed my sister because I saw the set from several yards away and I squealed loudly and ran for it, almost knocking over some lady.  I think she's been forgotten about now. Anyway, I love her beautiful colors and love that she's a unicorn. Here's an old pic of my fillies before the rest were released.

i don't think her lack of a cutie mark is lazy. So many others have cutie marks, so it's nice that there are some without. Why do all ponies need one?

it makes me so happy to see people actually have Star and LIKE her! Reception is poor on other boards. Even Equestria Daily. Makes me sad. ):
There are definitely too few g4 goals. Hope Hasbro does something about that. (Also, rereleasing Star Dreams is a must)

Yeah I think that is about as cheap as she ever got from Taobao too-  so I think a good deal.

I really find her coloring very appealing. I'm glad she's not over the top.
She reminds me of one of my favorite G1 ponies (Baby Moondancer) that I kept on my desk even as a teen after I had long outgrown my ponies...  she never got consigned to the attic box...

Because it's part and parcel of MLP and it differentiates her from ponies with the same color schemes.

LaW, referring to the symbol when you say part and parcel with mlp?

Not so, MLP has always had blank flanks as far back as G1.  I forget their names, but the blank G1 baby ponies are totally cute and I am pretty sure I have one of them...somewhere.

Nothing wrong with no-symbol ponies and Star Dreams is about the best looking G4 I've ever seen, got to get me a few of her.

Blank Flanks is a G4 only term and yes i know that there have been a few here and there without symbols. But it's still a core part of the identity of MLP and you'll notice that aside from sea ponies, the symbol-less ones are few and far between. There were also none in G3 aside from the Blank Pony, but she doesn't count as she was meant to be customized.

Excuse me for the overbroad application of the term but I still think Star Dreams fits into the category of the few and that is just one more thing that makes her special.

(though it is interesting there are no G3 examples, what about G2?  None?)

I fully understand that the butt tatts are MLP's identity, but does every sinle pony need one?  (98% of ponies have them, so that's why I said a pony without one makes them unique)

In G1 the only symbol-less pony(ies) that were not sea ponies was Ember (Pink/Blue/Lavender), G2 I don't recall any without a symbol, and G3 there were none. G1 and G4 were the only ones that did this and G4 just pretty much expanded on it

I hope you're able to get her. There's a seller on this site asking $15 for her, and listings on eBay that are around $20. Sadly, I don't think she'll get much cheaper than that.

I'm pretty sure there was a baby pony who lacked one. I think she was the Club Pony?  For members of an MLP Club in Europe or something?

Edit: Found her! She's all white  and is the Activity Club Baby.

The photo in the first post is adorable, but perhaps you should have linked to the source? (https://www.flickr.com/photos/pullip_junk/7955996518) Since it isn't your photo :) Not trying to sound mean, just saying. A lot of people don't like their photos being used without permission.

Anyway, more on topic, I love Star Dreams! She's adorable. I only ever saw her once - when I bought her - and IIRC she was kind of rare when she was released? So that might be why she's sort of underappreciated. (Well, that and there are thousands of ponies now - some of them are going to get lost in the shuffle, unfortunately ^^;) But she is very cute ^^

I have her!  she was in a distribution wave that was all wonky so Canada got her first and the US really didn't... so there are less of her variations out there.

It used to really bug me too. But then I found out that there are also a lot of sets we get over here that never make it to some other countries. I actually ended up making a friend because of that. We each had access to some the other needed but weren't in the country and we never stopped talking lol.

I really like her color scheme, though I do wish she had a symbol.
