So I'm curious!

I'm about half and half. My mom totally supports my pony collecting because she knows how much joy it brings me and that it brought me out of a deep depression. She even purchases ponies for me here and there and goes pony hunting for me. But the rest of my family judges me and thinks I'm "too old" for it. As for my friends, I don't bother mentioning it out of fear I'll be ridiculed

At last.. I’ve finally put together my very extensive and exhaustive wishlist. I am a completionist when it comes to things I really love so I’m always looking to complete a set.
I am always in a *buying* status but if you contact me about an item I want, please note I may have to hold off until I get my next paycheck.
For most items I don’t have a set price I’m willing to pay. I usually let sellers choose their prices based on what they think is fair. If my wallet likes the price then I’ll continue.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has came into someone who is willing to take advantage of the fact that you collect ponies. (This is about a real life person, no one on ebay or the arena). So about last year I met this woman who was interested in selling her old collection. She mostly had G3 and G4 but a few G1 mixed in. When I first bought things from her, she was really fair in pricing. But more recently she has been starting to clearly take advantage of the fact that I enjoy the ponies and want to buy them. The most recent lot I bought from her cost me $150. Now keep in mind I got tons of playsets and ponies.. so said the picture. Because I've never had a problem with her, when I picked up the stuff I didn't bother checking it out and just loaded the two huge boxes in my car. As promised I did get the playsets. But I wound up with about 50 fakies (which I told her I didn't want) and tons of McDonalds ponies. The only valuable thing I got really were the playsets which I could have boughten way cheaper on eBay. I was pretty upset but didn't say or do anything and just brushed it off because I'm typically very non-confrontational.
I hadn't heard from her in awhile so I figured she was done selling her stuff. Then yesterday she texts me with a photo and says "$35". This photo had 10 McDonald's ponies and one equestria girl doll with super bad hair and missing clothes. Obviously I said no thank you. I later see her post this same photo to a local facebook selling group for $10, after previously trying to sell it to me for $35..

After these past two instances it's pretty clear to me that she is just using the fact that I'm a collector and wanted to buy her ponies. Once she realized that I was interested, her prices went totally unfair and she started to cheat me out of stuff.

Has this ever happened to any of you? I really am frustrated as to why people do this and think that it's okay. 

So as I am preparing to reorganize my entire room and move my collection set up around, I thought it would be appropriate to show my collection as is. Keep in mind that this is not all of my collection. Many of my G1 and G2 ponies are packed away for safe keeping until I have the room to properly display them. But for now, this is my set up and I wanted to share. I plan on getting a second book shelf so that I can display more of my collection.

Hi everyone. I thought I would answer a few questions so that you can get to know me. So here we go:

Personal:

How old are you?
I am 18.
 
Where do you live? State, Country?

Do you work or attend school? Profession or major?
I am a junior in college. I am majoring in psychology. I already have my Associates Degree.

Who are the important people in your life?
My mom is very supportive of me and everything I do. My girlfriend is as well. I couldn't get through the day without them. My two cats and doggy and very important too. <3

Ponies:

How long have you been collecting?
I've been collecting ponies for almost a year now. I've been collecting Monster High, Lalaloopsy, and carebears for about a year as well. However, I've been collecting Hello Kitty stuff for about five years.

Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1, G2, G3 or G4?
I collect all generations. I like each generation for a different reason but g3 and g4 are my favorites.

What made you want to collect ponies?
I grew up playing with My Little Pony items but sadly lost my collection. As I got older I started collecting toys here and there and realized the passion I had for it. This past year my collection has exploded and my love for it has grown even more. I think it's something I've always been into.

Tell us about your collection!
Well, my collection definitely isn't the largest out there. However, for the amount of time I have been collecting I think it is a decent size and I am proud of it. I haven't counted anything in awhile so idk how much I have in numbers. I'm organizing my collection and once I do I plan to post pictures and show my collection. For now, I have:

MLP: 11 ponyville playsets (two are g4, rest 3), about 200 brushables (all gen), about 20 funkos, 15 plushies, two full size equestria girl dolls, 11 equestria minis plus the playsets, about 80 blindbag/ponyville figures. I have way more but this is what I can think of off the top of my head.
Monster high: about 75-100 dolls (haven't counted in awhile, lol), 13 vinyl figures, 12 mystery minis, plus several playsets
Hello Kitty: about 30 Ty Beanie Babies, 15 funkos (minis and full size), 5 dolls, 50ish plushies, playsets. I also have other stuff like piggy banks, clothing, purses, makeup, etc.
Lalaloopsy: 7 large dolls, 5 littles, 1 girl, about 30 minis, and too many tinies to count. Plus lots of playsets and accessories.
Carebears: Mainly plushies which I haven't counted in awhile. I'd guess around 50. I have a couple figures and playsets too.
Tsum tsums: 34 plushies and tons of vinyls (series 1 complete and series 2 almost complete; plus tons of doubles)
