Update 3/27/2017
Poll added, proof pictures on last page with video preview of the book! There are three versions in the video. I decided that I'll be printing it in house since my paper is better.
I originally said I'd do one sided pages, but the bleed isn't terrible. However I want to know what you think, so please comment!

Coloring books will be ready to ship in March. I'm doing the covers and then sending the proofs to the publisher.
Update 1/25/2017
Preorders have been closed since December. The coloring book is now available at the price of $18 each. $5 shipping +$2 for additional books.
Book is on schedule. I'm finishing up the last few illustrations and streamed art of one of the pages via my youtube channel (https://youtube.com/user/gothicsugarart).
I'll also try to stream or at least record when I do the covers which will come after all interior pages (6/16 left -doing 7/16 today) and I'll announce that if anyone's interested.

How much would you pay for a coloring book with G1 illustrations? These would be drawn by me and printed with at least 32 one sided pages for the sake of using markers or things that might bleed through if I use a company to print them. This means at least 16 illustrations. This would be a bit less expensive than printing them myself which I've listed a base estimate for.
Neither price estimate includes shipping which should be $5-$8.
Through a company-perfect binding, white paper, 8.5"x11"

Printed myself-cardstock printed and staple bound (possibly stitched) by hand zine style, 5.5"x8.5", cardstock

Alternatively, I'm thinking of just offering the company printed books with a custom hand drawn page as an extra for everyone who does a pre-order. I'm only taking 60.
I ask because I've been working on one and may open pre-orders soon since summer is here and I'm out of work for a couple of months. If the first one does well, I plan to release different themed volumes with ponies who match the theme. Now keep in mind, the ones I printed myself would only be published for pre-order because it would take too much time to print them on demand whereas the company printed books would be available well after the pre-orders shipped out.
As an example of what I mean about the book content, the first volume is "Singing in the Rain" and will have, just to name a few;
- Melody
- Parasol
- Baby Leaper
- Baby Snookums
- Quackers
- Baby Rainfeather
These are sample images from custom pages that I did for someone to give an idea of what the art will look like. I used cardstock and printed them myself.

Best of luck with your sales, these are lovely! You manage to capture the G1 feel in your artwork very well, I think. The backgrounds and settings look very authentic and your ponies are so cute. :lovey:

Thank you. Griffin, thanks. I did a lot of sketching before I came to what I hoped was good enough g1 style.
For those interested in the books, I'm still getting those pages done. I ended up having to wait on some replacement pen nibs so I got back to work this week. I just finished a page with Raindrop/Regentrpfen.

Please contact me directly with your paypal address to receive an invoice/payment request and let me know what you would like drawn at the time of your order. If you live overseas, please let me know as your shipping will be considerably more expensive than for US orders. I'll need to try to figure out your shipping. This book is 32 pages long featuring 16 illustrations of ponies with music and weather themed cutie marks. If the sales do well, then this will be the fisrt in a series of Nostalgic fan art coloring books.

The proofs will be checked in February and then after that I'll have everything ready to ship, so there's still plenty of time if you want to order extras and for those who missed preorders.

Thank you. I think next time though, I plan on making this a series, that I'll finish the books and open preorders when the proof is done. I feel like I'm holding stuff ransom and hate to keep people waiting.

I picked Sundance because I feel like she's who a lot of people picture when they hear My Little Pony.
I'm adding the front and back covers to the interior of the book to go from 16-18 colorable illustrations.
The back cover will stay a surprise. I'm so excited to be finishing this right now.

That's adorable! I don't feel like I'm being held hostage- good things are worth the wait. If I AM being held hostage, I would like more cookies and warm milk, or I will start to bang on the bars with my tin cup.

Thank you both. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun to do; so I'm definitely going to work on another one. It'll be summer themed which will include some of my personal favorites. And while I can't promise milk and cookies, or even the tin cup, I may sneak something into the bonus pieces I'm working on now for all of you who preordered.

The proof will be here tomorrow. I've also been testing my paper that I use for traditional art and am doing a versus sort of thing. I kind of like my paper better which will make the books ultra thick since they'll be one sided pages kind of like an art pad, but I think it would work better for the sake of having paper thick enough to stand up to markers without bleeding. They'll do that anyway, but then you'll also have the option of hanging your pages up after you're finished if you like. Pics will be up for them on Sunday.
