I honestly think they look like cats.
I had a 3.5 ponyville whose hair could be popped off, and when he hair is off, she looks just like a cat.

Well they certainly don't look like ponies, that's for sure

I actually think its quite funny to line them up evolution - from a real pony through G1 to G4...as they go they look less and less like ponies...G4 are the worst! Everyone I ask who doesnt know what they are come to "pony" 2 to 4 guesses in - pony isnt the most obvious at all!

G2: Llama
G3.5: Cats or bears or something :p
G4: Deer


The McDonald's G4s definitely have beaks though. Quack!

That's because we know they're ponies. As much as I love the G4 series of toys, I don't think they look much like ponies.
People say G1s are hippos, but meh, I just think they're pudgy ponies.
