Update on bust the clutter challenge!

If I binned fifty things I'd start chucking ponies. I regularly purge what I own, either selling, binning, or donating. I don't like owning things, coming from a person who has like, 200 toy ponies, that sounds weird, but, outside of what I use for my business or my hobbies, I own squat. I have a lot of prints on my walls, but those are on my walls, they don't really get in the way.

It is very nice to have a small footprint in your house or apartment, it makes keeping things organized a lot easier.

Challenge  this weekend is kitchen and bath

Right, I have this massive pile of cables and hair curlers that don't work and... I don't even know what else. Chargers that have had their wires nibbled by the rabbit etc. I am going to attempt to sort them out. I will post the terrifying before and after photos

Yay!

I got rid of two full trashbags of clothing that's too gnarly to be recycled (old painting clothes and old undies and the like), and a box of old, out-of-date magazines into the recycling bin.  And when the thrift shop re-opens, I have, like, three bags easy of old clothes, toys, sundries and books to go to them.   The bonus is that my wardrobes are way more sorted out than ever, and I know where everything is!  I got a good head of steam into me this afternoon, yay!

So the official out-of-the-house count is at five!

1. and 2. were two bags of books to the library
3. and 4. are bags in the rubbish heap of old, gungy clothing
5. is the box of old mags in the recycling bin

Thanks to everypony for helping me keep up momentum - it's a darned sight easier to do this when you can report on your progress.

Challenge  this weekend is kitchen and bath

Rats... I tidied the kitchen, but didn't actually get rid of anything.   Oh well.  Maybe I'll tackle *that* drawer (you all know the one...).  Then, onto the bath!

Tidied the garage a bit.

Working on the big closet.

The trash cans are full already and the garbage *ahem* truck doesn't come again until Friday!

At least it's a start  I'm excited to get everything all sorted.

I also cleaned up tons of files on my computer(s)

Good luck all of you I am not a packrat at all. I grew up with a mom that did and her house is HORRIBLE!

I sold alot of things on some local rummage sale pages on facebook.

As someone who will (hopefully!) be moving into a new flat in the near future, and a self-confessed packrat, I was totally inspired by this thread!

Yesterday I rummaged through my jewellery drawer and sorted out some ugly lanyards/necklaces I never wear that I've put in the "collection" of stuff that I plan to sell at a fleamarket in summer. I also put my other necklaces in clear plastic bags so I can see where everything is.

But more importantly, I purged the bathroom cabinet and got rid of all the old makeup and some facecreams that I no longer use since I got the proper stuff from the dermatologist! I ended up with a small bag full of things, which was pretty crazy

When I get my room back properly I'm going to go through a craft box of mine as I have so many random pencils and stuff it's not funny. D:
