Title: g1 find at the thrift store!

went out again this weekend to get more ponies! i tried going to the flea market but they were closed 'cause of thanksgiving. So instead i went to Value Village...which is like..imagine a thrift store the size of a walmart. needless to say..i found some girls! Not very many, i grabbed one bag of ponies since all the other bags only had twilights in them, and i'm not particularly fond of her. but i did get a good find!
I found a (fair condition) tabby, a pinkie pie and suri polomare mcdonalds, and a g3 sweetie belle mcdonalds.
the tabby is in pretty good condition! She's only got a little grime on her hooves, and only a teeny bit of rubbing on her right eye. her symbols are perfect, and her hair just needs a wash. her tail spins MOST of the way...about 3/4ths. I imagine she'd run fine if i gave her a little WD40 though. she's got a little cut just next to her right cutie mark, not sure what that's from. the mcdonalds' are all in good condition, sans the wild hair. pinkie's tail actually looks really neat, and suri's isn't too bad either. Sweeties is a little nastier..it looks like she got a perm haha .. and the edge of her tail has some rubbing.I'm pretty pleased with my finds! I'm a little bit regretting not getting another bag, even if it did just have twilights in it.

Nice to see G1 ponies still showing up 'in the wild'. Congrats on your finds :D

Huge congrats! I love that people are still finding G1 in thrift shops, haha but I also get quite jealous as I am never that lucky at the thrifts :lol:

thanks guys! yeah it was definitely exciting to open up my bag on the bus and really get a good look at her and notice she was a g1. I didn't grab her bag because of her, i just noticed she wasn't a g4 and grabbed it.

put Tabby in the spa today, she came out much better! Rubbed her down with a mr.clean to get rid off all that gunk, and let her sit in detergent for several hours. Took her out and brushed her up, and while she's not perfect, she's MUCH better.

If you look you can see how frazzled her hair was, and how sticky-up it was. The wash flattened it and made it more managable, but shes got a sort of "split ends" situation going on, it's still frazzly at the bottom. There's also some evidence of one or two plugs being cut.
I don't think i'll rehair her. She looks alright the way she is. If anyone is interested in her now that she's clean, shoot me a PM! I'd Love to trade her for someone.

So that shows that mine got her hair trimmed since she has not the tail and maine that long... She looks beautiful.

thank you! I did notice that factory tabbys have a nice curl in the bottom of their manes, that mine has lost. time to buy some curlers at the dollar store...

Tabby is so cute! She's one of my childhood ponies.. I got her because I liked her symbol.. still do hehe..
Ohh how I wish I can find G1s in the wild.. I always find G3s and 4s and leave them behind as I only collect G1. Congrats! :D

Tabby was a childhood fav of mine as well. :) So cute, glad you rescued her!
