Wigwam Project - Re-Hair Need Help!
« on: November 13, 2015, 05:28:33 PM »
Can someone give me advise on what would be a
Suitable Red for him as well as white?

Dose Firebird match his symbol?
How about sugarberry?

What is his original white?
Would oyster work well with red shades too?

Firebird is a little too orange and Oyster has a weird blonde-gray tint, for lack of a better description. Perhaps Sugarberry or Candy Apple for the red, because you want  basic, primary red and definitely Snowflake for the white. A lot of the big bros are in strong, basic colors. I can't wait to see him when your through, I've been rethinking my earlier response and I realized he'd look gorgeous.

Thank you!

I am going to pick your brain here but
What is the difrents between Candy Apple
And SugarBerry?

And is snowwhite his original white color?

I don't want to make his hair matalic or super shiny
I kinda want it matt but bold.
If that's possable.. I realize that all hair is shiny
But when I was looking into firebird they has
Two typs matalic as if they where brand new
Out of the box, And a more matt fire bird that didn't have
As much as a shine.

I was hopeing one of the reds Sugarberry or Candy apple
Where a bit matt. If not that's ok and all, I just like
More of a natural pony hair feel if that's what you wanna call it.

Candy Apple seems a little more vibrant, like the newer shiny red while Sugarberry is a little duller and flatter.

Marshmallow may be good too, since its naturally duller white. It's kinda hard to tell since he's such an old boy.

I understand what you mean by more natural. I think she has samples if you wanna compare.

Surely someone has restored a Wigwam? They'll be able to tell you better.

I wonder how I would began to try and find someone who has restored a wigwam with out making yet another Topic about it.
I don't really want to do that since I have already got
Two topics about him already.

I don't have the ability to look at that alternet rehair photo acount thing
That the arena made since people where going super crazy with it last year.

I have google wigwam rehair but nothing came up,
Surly someone has re-haired him with his original white.

I don't mind getting samples I would just rather blow past that
And get into re-hairing.

Putting a mark here so I can come back with some pics. I have the colors and a wig wam for comparison but it's too early to wake all up with my rummaging.

Edit:

Here's the pony in question beside Candy Apple, Flame Auburn(?), and Firebird.

These are the colors. If you buy from dollyhair I suggest Caliente (it's polypropylene) as the closest match but Pomme D'Amour may work to match the symbols (nylon).

My boy's hair has yellowed to White Witch but Marshmallow is a good substitute. White Chocolate is a cream that works well with reds if you don't want to go with a starker white. Sugarberry is Pink. I don't know why it shows as red on the site but it's not a Red. Firebird is Barnacle's color red. Kind of a neon orange-red. Candy Apple is just red. As red-red as you're likely to find.

Hope any of that helps!  ^.^

Flame Auburn seem to match his symbol well, I also like candy apple too!

Can I see  D'Amour, Caliente, flame auburn and candy apple all lined up togather? And may I ask what your opinon on thoses 4 would be best.
I wonder what would look best?

I am so sorry to be a pest.

You're not being a pest, you're learning as you can. Plus, I wouldn't answer if I didn't expect and encourage questions.

I'm out of Pomme so my comparison for that is from memory and my "Flame Auburn" that I got in a random box is likely "Caliente" now that I finally look at it closely. Because real life photos are better at conveying color than those you order from on the site...  ^^;

Nylon: My Little Pony standard hair.
Candy Apple is crayola red. No highlights. Some shine, but in a flat waxy way.
Pomme D'Amour is a sportscar red. Some highlights that shine like a dark brick only metallic.

Polypropylene: Feels much like nylon but slightly crinkly and a little heft.
Caliente is an orangeish brick red. Some highlights that shine like a dark metal orange.

Saran: To me it feels lighter than nylon.
Flame Auburn is slightly more red than Caliente. The highlights shine a brownish red.

My opinion is to go with Marshmallow (white) and Caliente (brick) because they both work well with the orange of Wig Wam's body and his Water Nixie (blue) hair. You could even give him tricolor hair if you wanted to.

The only red colors they have in stock right now are

Candy apple
Pomme D'Amour

So I'll see about getting both and if neather work
Then I'll just pass em around the arena
As I don't do a lot of rehairs
I can't make more then
One or two customs a year.

Too bad I didn't see Caliente like you sugested :/

I can send you some Caliente if you want. It's not a color I use too often so I can sell you a full hank for less than I paid for it. (Otherwise it just sits in my box...)

Just $2 +shipping. Shouldn't be too much.

I found out that polypropylene hair (the type that's client) is mush easier to work wit if before making the repair you  let it sit in hot water, later you use conditioner for at least half an hour and rinse, then you let it dry and comb it and is ready for make a repair

This way the polypropylene hair will become soft it would loose a lot of the stiff nature and is going to look similar to nylon and kind like saran

Here's and example on how a bend of  polypropylene heartless (light ice blue) looks mixed wit nylon and saran hair
