Wow! I've been watching that Venezuela beauty for over a week now (not trying to bid, just drooling and wondering how high she'd go and the auction just ended. I can't believe how much she sold for!!! I wish I could post a link since the auction has ended but for some reason, I can't find it anymore. Congrats to the lucky (and wealthy) winner!!!

Edit: Someone posted a link below and I edited my title because it was a Lickety Split, not a Posey

Thanks for the compliments on my South African Heart Throb! A complete impulse buy for me a couple of years ago but I will never regret her. She makes me the owner of the only complete Nirvana Heart Throb collection in the world, I believe ;-)

The customs are way prettier than the originals! :)

I also have one of Pinkkittywinks' customs (in the middle of the display case; I don't have a picture of her alone)

I kept it even after I bought the original because her's is way prettier. The original has thin hair...

Pony Brag Arena / One step closer...

I haven't been collecting as many ponies as I used to in the past year but I still maintain the same goal : to own at least one pony from every country that they were manufactured in.

Today, I received this beauty, which I bought from another member here:

She is my first pony from Macau. I now own ponies from all of the following countries:

Argentina
Brazil
Germany
Greece
Holland
Italy
Macau
Mexico
Peru
South Africa
Spain
Venezuela
And a faky Takara pony from Japan, which is probably all that I'll ever be able to afford, lol :)

I'm still seeking ponies from Colombia, Denmark/Australia and France and possibly eventually a Piggy pony and a Princess variant. It will probably be a long time before I complete my goal though because I'm not planning on buying more than one or two new ponies a year at the moment. I'm not interested in the Indian ponies because they're too similar to North American versions or the Thailand Big Brothers.

Beautiful collection! They all have such great hair! Don't despair about getting your pony room someday... or at least a pony corner :) Most of my ponies are in storage bins but I do have a couple of nice display cases in my bedroom where I'm able to display a few of my favorites!

MLP Nirvana / Re: Hardest pony to get variants of?

The one that was the hardest to find for me was Green-haired Argentina Heart Throb. It took me about 8 months of active searching to find one that was suitable for my Heart Throb collection.

Wow, what a beautiful pony. Just to make you feel better, I probably would have hesitated and lost out as well. It's not everybody who can make a split-second decision like that about a toy for a collection. Most people have to think about it and figure out if they can afford it. Must be nice to just be able to click "Buy it now" whenever you want ;-)

I'm trying to cut down on my pony spending. For a while, I was spending a lot of money on Nirvanas because I wanted all of the Heart Throb variants. It so happened that after I decided to collect this particular pony, a South African variant was discovered and someone offered to sell her to me. She was my most expensive pony but I just couldn't say no. I asked my husband if she could be my anniversary/Christmas/birthday present for the year and my parents also threw in the money that they were going to give me for Christmas and my birthday. Now that my Heart Throb collection is complete my only goal is to buy one pony from each country. I already know which ones I want and most of them rarely come up for sale so I haven't bought a pony in quite a while...

Pony Corral / Re: What pony did you carry everywhere with you as a child?

Baby Ember. I collected pony points, sent them in (along with the money for shipping) and waited 3-6 weeks until she finally arrived. She was the very first baby pony and I loved her! I remember bringing her to school with me and keeping her on my desk.

My unusual obsession pony is:

I'm surprised she's one of my favourite nirvanas as usually I'm the more obsessed the rarer and more expensive the item is. But this is in my opinion the most beautiful nirvana when also the price is considered.

I agree with you on this one Goldilocks! When I first started looking at Nirvanas, she was one of the first ones that I just HAD to have! I loved Parasol as a child and finding one with different coloured hair was really exciting to me, no matter how common she might be :)

Oops! I voted wrong... I thought I had him but I confused him with Fireball. He's actually one of the only two that I'm still missing.

Just a thought, even though I already posted in this thread: Of the original six G1 ponies, Cotton Candy, Blue Belle, Blossom and Butterscotch were pretty much monochromatic! And little girls loved them. Sometimes simple is best :)

Found them in the Montreal area at Wal-mart...
