Maybe I'm mistaken and he wasn't actually part of that set...I remember in the picture he had shoes and looked like the same type of figure as the others, but perhaps he is actually part of a set we haven't seen yet.
Your not wrong, but you know how shoddy Hasbro's distribution is under normal circumstances.
Yep, that set exists at least in stock photos! Just not on the poster that I got from the other Crystal Adventure sets.  I’m wondering if maybe he will be part of a wave 2 shipment along with more Crystal Adventure Izzys once manufacturing and shipping delays catch up. That Izzy is pretty impossible to find in stores here, either due to her being extremely popular or under-manufactured and delayed, or just not shipped with the other girls. All we have are Sunny, Zipp and Pipp galore.

So far I've yet to see any listings for him in Canada.
I wonder why he isn't on the brochure that comes with the Crystal Adventure ponies? Only the 4 girls are shown on it and it says "4 to collect".

Got mine! I somehow missed the G2 happy meals when I was a kid, so I'm happy I found her (even though the hollow legs are really somethin').
Looks like her head is of a different plastic and may discolour in the future. Out of curiosity, did the original 1998 version have a head made of a softer, more rubbery plastic as well?

I got her! The cashier had to open up a new box to find her (thankfully she didn't mind because she was looking for a specific toy for herself), and she ended up being the only one in the whole box! The previous box just had two. I'm not sure if she's intentionally harder to find or if each box just has a random assortment.
She's very similar to the original. The new one is a shinier plastic and has screws in her back, and hollow legs. But her colors and size are pretty much a match. Her back says 2019.
Congrats on finding her!  I checked earlier my McDs this morning. No G2 Light Heart to be found.  Maybe she is rarer than others... Though I did check another location and they said they had toys #1, 5, 8 only - so maybe the toys just come in batches of a few different ones per box shipment, as I think is usually the case with Happy Meal toys? Does anyone know if that's the case with these special ones?

It varies. I might check in a few times a week, and I might go on hiatus for a year. Depends on how busy I am and if I'm in my pony-collecting mood too.

I grew up (as an older child) collecting G3s. I LOVED their names, themes, poses, and unique colours! As a G1 fan, it was great to see old names with new looks too. The points/rewards system was a nice bonus.
Being in Canada, I had to go to the US to get a lot of the Target exclusives. I own most of the first 3 years of the G3s.
When the G4s came out, I favoured the G4 eyes over the G3s. That said, I might move soon so I might need to find some of my ponies new homes. Some G3s may go, but I love my G4s too much.

Agreed! Something's off with the symbol in her eye as well. She's probably also missing her front heart hoof symbol. An old Toola-Roola teal fakie is a cool find though!

Wow, surprised to hear that people have been getting pearly ponies with bad hair. My pearly Starlight Glimmer has fantastic hair, one of the best heads of hair I've seen on a G4.
My pearly Starlight Glimmer's body is super oily, but her hair is nice. Seems like there is a huge mixed bag QC-wise. I liked the colours, variety, and themes of the first few years of G4. (I'll overlook the head/body colour mismatch issue here.) After the Crystal Empire year (crystallized eyes), the themes got a bit weird. Tacky colours/tinsel added to the mane 6's hair, tacky decorations added to their bodies, transparent bodies with glitter/water in them... the gimmicks were creative but the creativity should have been spent on creating more non-mane 6/non-show pony designs instead.
