Proper way to return an item on ebay? Seller is accepting w/o opening claim

I recently purchased an auction on ebay (non-pony) that was non as described. I messaged the seller & he agreed to a refund upon return. I've never actually returned something to a cooperative seller without having to open a case, lol! What's the proper way to go about returning the item, so that A.) I'm protected & have provided tracking with ebay and B.) the seller gets his fees back?

I feel silly asking this, but it's one of the few things on ebay that I've never encountered & can't seem to find a quick answer on ebay's system.

Kit just make sure you send it back with at least delivery confirmation so that you know when it arrives back to him. I have never had to enter anything into ebay's system because there is not an actual case opened.

If he has agreed to the return you should not have any problems.  He will probably refund you your money as soon as it arrives back and then send you a cancellation request, so he can get his fee's back.  This is how I handle returns so I assume everyone else does the same.

yes I had that happened to me a while back on ebay, I was lucky that my seller returned my money and refunded me as well for my shipping fees to send the item back
