Issue Shipping to Wrong Address
« on: July 17, 2012, 09:37:19 AM »
 I sent to the wrong address

I sold a CareALot set to a member here and she sent me an email asking me to send it to her updated address. This is the second time I've done this too!!! I ended up printing the label from paypal with the wrong address on it!!

I didn't realize it until I got home and opened her last pm in order for me to respond with a dc number. Is there a way I can get this package to her now? The first time I did this the package came back undeliverable. I'm hoping that can happen now?

My suggestion is to call the post office in the zip code where the package was sent and let them know that it was shipped to the wrong address, and you want to package returned to you so you can send it to the correct address. They might be able to catch it when it arrives for sorting.

In order to have seller protection, you must ship to the address on file with paypal. The buyer needs to update their address.

Did this just happen?   If it did and it was UPS then you need to call 1-800-377-4877 with your tracking
DC number and they can can do a address correction for you, I believe.

Honestly though it is your buyers responsibility to make sure her information is up to date.  Such as email, address, etc. through Paypal.  As almost all sellers print their labels through ebay or Paypal.

Hopefully you can catch the package enroute, if not I am almost certain it will be sent back to you.  And you will have to resend it to the correct address.    :)

@ClosetAvalanche the transaction happened through here, so ebay's policies do not apply.

She did pm me warning me. I take full responsibility. :( I dont want to loose the item it's self is my main concern. I'm going to try and call that post office. It did happen a couple days ago though...

Edit:
Your Item's Status
Your item departed our JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097 sort facility on July 15, 2012.

Maybe I still have time to catch it??

If her address isn't correct, it's her problem, not yours if you can't fix it.

She obviously doesn't want it enough if her info isn't even up to date. x_X" I know people get busy, but I don't think it's going to take you years just to change an address.

Why doesn't she just change your address so that every seller doesn't have to do it on their time and hope they input it correctly? Jeez.

Sorry, I never had to do this before. Hopefully you can get it rerouted.

I really don't blame her. I'm sure it was on her task list and she just didn't get to it yet.

Needless to say I did call the USPS to try and stop the package but it's already in transit. My only saving grace is if she completed a forwarding address form. I did shoot her a pm asking her if she did. I may just have to refund her  I don't mind doing that, I just hate loosing vintage stuff like that

Do what you like, but i recently moved and when I bought something on Ebay I changed my addy right there and then. The amount of time it took her to tell you to do it she could have done it herself.

Just saying :-)

Did she say when she moved?

 I doubt the package is lost.  It most likely will be returned to you.

Well that's why I'm wondering how long ago the buyer moved. Cause it might just be delivered to the new residents :-(

I don't know exactly, I'm waiting on a response her. I pm'd her. I'm sure she'll get back to me and hopefully I can give a big sigh of relief. I am hoping it's not delivered to the new resident. I'd rather have it returned to me so I can just forward it again.

Well heres hoping she moved within the last 3 months and did the mail forwarding thing. If so, it would be forwarded to her.
