Title: Creepy eBay message
Post by: bluerose9978 on March 03, 2020, 10:43:51 AM
I received the following message on eBay from nichfue13:

"hey yaddy just wantde to you im such a bromie like honeslty loveee my ittle pony and i would appreciate if you could put the little mans in a mason jar and fill it up with yur life juice for me. thanks bb respond when you get the chance im currently going through a very rough divorce and hoenstly i think its time i explore my passion of dolls in life juice byeeeee"

They have 0 feedback and have never purchased anything from me before and I have never bought anything from them. I have blocked them and wondered if anyone knows if there is some way I can report this? Or am I just overreacting? I've never gotten a message like this before on eBay.

Someone is trolling you because you are a my little pony collector. Not only that but it's disturbing and seems to be talking about bodily fluids. I would report them to Ebay as well as blocking them. I've had disagreements on Ebay but I've never been targeted like that. How horrible.

That is a creepy message. :yikes:  I would also report the message if you can.

That is very disturbing, I'm so sorry you received that message.

I think they removed the option to report a message directly from the message itself on eBay. However, if you have Facebook I would recommend finding the "eBay for Business" page there and sending a private message reporting the incident from there. I have had luck reporting issues that way when the phone based customer service was no help. I generally do not have an active FB account but will reactivate just to get help from that page.

My husband and I share an eBay account and the account is under his info. Apparently he thinks my husband sells ponies and is making fun of it. When I have looked under eBay's policy it says I can report it if it falls under hate speech or if it's abusive speech. Does this qualify in your opinions?

"Life juice" :haha:

Yeah, go on and report it. Someone is clearly trolling/bothering you.

Definitely a troll, do not be afraid or anything. It was just someone very bored that day. I understand what that user is saying, it's a reference to some kind of "experiment" someone made. It's extremely gross but otherwise harmless. Internet being the internet, you know.
I guess you could report him or something, but he's expecting it. It's not worth the effort, really.

I think its abusive and would report it.

That is really creepy. I'd save that message for evidence and report them asap. Then block them.

I feel really sorry for people who make posts like that.

It's definitely offensive, and I probably would report it, but after that I'd just go on with life.

I don't know if it is 'hate crime' so much as 'troll with no life'...

OK, he's been reported. I just noticed that he just joined eBay today. So I doubt he'll be a member on eBay long. Just joined to harass people. But I hope everyone blocks him so they don't get the same message. Maybe some kid playing around or someone with nothing better to do.

That's disgusting! I'd report him too!

Methinks from the message practicing his/her spelling, grammar and punctuation might be something s/he could spend more time doing.

Definitely a troll. It's referencing a meme you don't want to know the details of.

Aha. So it's probably some kid who thought it would be funny. And I assume my husband and I are a random target.

Disturbing meme, and a random troll because people like being mean. Don’t look into it unless you really, really want to see some weird (read: disgusting) stuff. I don’t know if eBay has a block function, but maybe do that.
Also, I think I lost a few brain cells trying to read the guys message. I’m good at reading, upside down and where people replace letters with numbers. But that message made me feel physical pain.

Suffice to say, you did the right thing reporting this... whatever it is...

Absolutely disgusting. I’m not super aware of whatever this “meme” is but I know enough that I’m appalled someone thought it would be funny to harass an eBay seller with this sort of message. I think you did the right thing in reporting it. To me something like this borders on a sexual harassment and is definitely abusive. I have 0 time for trolls who think this stuff is funny. I think this junk has been spreading on Instagram too.

Satin Slipper, I wouldn’t look too far into the life juice thing. The message is NOT referencing like, a beverage type of juice. From what I know this is a meme that comes from the gross side of the brony fandom if you catch my drift. Save your sanity, it’s not worth googling.

Sorry that happened to you! But they are just a troll, just block/report them and move on. I do understand that can be kind of unsettling/jarring if you've never experienced or been exposed to that sort of thing before.

No problem, but also my apologies as well for possibly scarring you, lol! I think a lot of people know about it because it was a post on Reddit that really took off not only as a meme but in the really creepy side of the brony fandom.

My apologies because I guess throwing down the blanket statement that I HATE all Bronies is pretty unreasonable and brash. I more hate the movement/idea/stigma of it, than anything.  Of course they're not all like that, there's a lot who just really love the G4 show and that's it, and self identify as bronies. (It started off as a fairly innocent term for male fans of the G4 show but was twisted really quickly.) But in my opinion, and from my experience/encounters, MOST of the people who seriously identify as bronies, especially these days, are like that. Otherwise I find most just calling themselves fans of MLP.

I know the meme being referenced, and it is explicitly one that cannot be mentioned on this forum, and even giving you vague terms that would lead to it would lead to me being banned.

The act he is referencing to is R rated and one of the most infamous some other site pony memes
