Title: What is this on my Argie pony? (new pic pg two)
Post by: banditpony on January 21, 2012, 04:14:37 PM

edit: new pic pg two :3
I understand more about it.
The giant holes/cracks are related to the bumping.

Well. I knew had I overpaid on a recent Argie purchase. ....

  And now I am horrified I grossly overpaid.

It was obviously something I didn't expect, because the original picture isn't good enough to show it. So I wasn't expecting a perfect pony... but I was not expecting these strange black marks all over it. It's like ingrained dirt, but weirder? Is it just ingrained dirt? They are like weird indented black marks. (And then there dots like ingrained dirt.... )

:O AND SHE HAS BUMPS ON HER BUTT. please tell me this isn't a normal for argies. its... gross ;O;

Uhoh XD Don't tell me that ~ cuz I know you have a lot of Argie ponies.

u__u; I am going to try to write up a request for a partial refund when I feel a little bit less in shock about it. The auction said "The pony is in the condition that you see in pictures" . Roll eyes. I don't see this in the auction picture of course.

ugh!!! there are a lot of sellers in argentina that have that as thier description and let me tell you it is frustrating, especially if its a BIN and a pony you cant pass up!!!
no time to write for more details/pics cause someone may snatch it up before you!

i have had this happen more than once that is for sure. and actually it was with my sugarberry too! the seller was delparke(something) and i asked for a partial refund...
they obliged but since then have blocked me from future auctions.. which suuuucks because that seller has had several ponies up for sale that I need  :argh: :shakefist:

i hope the seller is reasonable....

I've bought a lot of Argies over the years that were in worse than expected condition, both from eBay sellers in Argentina AND collectors. I've kinda of come to expect them to be flawed & generally won't pay a lot unless the look like they've just come off the card. I'm sorry that you got a bad one!! I hope that politely asking the seller for a partial refund will work out for you.

OMG, your "Pepper"berry has butt-acne!

That does look very strange.  It almost looks like something was in the mold when they made her...

My Sugarberry has this too.  I thought someone stabbed her a million times with a dirty needle.  I have boiled her and put her in a peroxide soak and sun bleached her and even squeezed and picked at her but cannot get them to go away.  Sorry that it happened to you, I hope that you can get a partial refund.  Good luck.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to get the bumps off, but you can probably get the embedded dirt of with an Oxy boil and some scrubbing with an antibiotic dish soap like you can with pindot mold. Good luck, hope the seller is willing to give you a partial refund. If not you can always open up a dispute. :S

DX gyah! pepperberry has buttacne! don't tell her ~~ all the US ponies will tease her for her condition.

No matter what I do I have never been successful with an oxy boil and scrubbing with soap. u.u; It fails me every time. I of course will TRY so hard.

This is describing it well : stabbed her a million times with a dirty needle.

And when I bend her plastic, a wrinkly surface will appear O_o

What I do is add about a scoop of it into water and let it boil until the foam starts rising, then put the pot in the sink, put the pony in and let it sit covered for about 15 minutes. I usually do it about three times before I'm able to get all the mold off successfully, so it might take a few tries for the dirt. I wish you the best of luck! ^_^

I had a FiFi with the same little dots, it took some boiling to clean her out.  Not sure what the butt bumps are, yuck.

Yeah. XD I still have done it that way for other ponies with pindot. (this one is weirder and darker, and ... is lines). ... and have never been successful. I've used all sorts of different cleaning agents (oxyclean of course), to different soaps, to soft and course scrubbing materials, to trying to "scrape" it off with things like knives.  I think there is pindot on there, but something else-- because it's thicker/deeper/cuts.

aw poor pony :(

i have had a couple of sugarberries come to my pony parlour with the same issues as your pony.

i have seen the raised lumps before on argie sugarberry, they where made when she was made, the mold they used was a bit lumpy i think.

the indented marks and the pindot are the same thing. ponies have tiny airbubbles or pores in their plastic and in some cases mould starts to grown in them. it can be cured.  i suggest boiling her or putting her in very hot water and the rub bleach over her and massaging it in while she is still hot (wear gloves) this will help the block stuff come out of the pores ;)

love pkw xxx

Ah. Ok. Well that makes me feel better if another Sugarberry was found with bumps. (I was scared something was inside it, causing it to be bumpy).

X3 maybe I will have to send her off to someone for a cleaning, I really stink at boiling. hmm.

I wonder if the weird holes have anything to do with the pores splitting, with the wrinkly skin. (cuz the texture is really odd). cuz.. they are squiggly and dashes, and not just tiny circle holes.
:D Thanks everyone for your input!

ugghh, poor sugarberry!
As many other said, bumps are probably a plastic/factory error. Black spots really look like a kind of pin dot to me.
I would ask a partial refund, I'm sure that seller is not a collector and probably doesn't note this flaws as a defect

Aha. New picture.

I played around with her today, trying to clean her in different ways.
It's.. the same concept of pindot mold (which if I recall correctly is just trapped dirt inside pores, not mold?. can be mold?)

But this is very deep cracks, and a very weird plastic... and who knows what is trapped in there. nothing clean, that's for sure. I also get the impression that the bumps on her butt, are something to do with the plastic as well. Because when I twisted the plastic, I could create bumps in other areas. I also could bend the plastic so much, I could see how deep the cracks were.

:D She is... disgusting. and now I hate her for being so dirty XD
She has had now 5 boil baths, with 4 different cleaning products, and 3 different scrubbing methods. ... and I bet I will spend literally hours / days TRYING to clean her.

My other argies are luckily not made with the same plastic.

Ugh, that's gross.  I'd try to get a partial refund, because she is way worse than the picture showed.

eeeeeeppp that's a shock! I'd personally get a refund  because of her not being as described and also if you know you overpaid. But if you're happy with what you paid then I personally would keep her and enjoy cleaning her up-it would be so much fun! I'd also leave a neutral feedback as your pony was not as described. xxx hope you come to a good decision, good luck :)
