Tesco and Power Pony stuff? (UK)
« on: September 24, 2016, 05:37:30 AM »
I think that's what they're called.

Apologies if this is old news; I haven't had access to a big Tesco for a long time ;)

Colney Hatch Tesco (North London) this morning. I haven't ever seen half of these things in the UK in stores before, only pictures online, so I dunno if I'm just behind or if these really are as "new" as Tesco claim them to be.

Maybe some of them were at Argos before? First time I've seen them on open shelves, though, and first time I've ever seen the big ones.

Also first time I've seen the little size Celestia brushable in person. She's very cute. I may get her if she ends up discounted...right now it's a little expensive for me.

(I also saw a lot of GOH stuff in Friern Bridge Smyths, as well as light up Cadence and Luna and a FS Twilight Sparkle with huge rainbow wings, but there were a bunch of staff in the aisle and I thought taking a picture there might be seen as suspicious...)

Ooh, I see some neat stuff there I haven't found yet here in the US. I'll have to poke around when I'm in the UK next month... :D Good find!

The power ponies were stocked in Argos. But yes it would appear that most of it is as new as they claim. Tesco seem to have the best range out of any store at the moment. I went into Tesco, toys r us, the entertainer and Smyth's in one day. And it was Tesco that had the most. My local toys r us's stock hasn't changed for about 10 months.

Can't really speak for Tru...at home there isn't one and the easiest one to access here in London is tricky by bus and decidedly odd. But Smyths at home has a ton of new GOH stuff.

I always thought London was bad for toys, but turns out I was just living in the wrong part...

Good to know, I'm spying some stuff that's 'target exclusive' over here, and some stuff we don't have here at all! Remember Tescos when in London... XD

If you plan to do that I recommend you ignore branches in the centre of London and look to the bigger stores out in the wider zones. Central London is pretty bad for toys, and Tesco is a supermarket, so there's no guarantee they will have a wide range. The one above is a Tesco Extra which is probably a better bet than a plain Tesco or a Tesco Local.

That's an impressive selection for a Tesco. Around here, even the large ones don't stock that many toys. Thanks for sharing!

WOW! That's an awesome pony section! My local tesco extra has the power ponies in brushable size, and mane-iac, but no fashion style set. I was surprised to see them actually on shelves too, especially since I missed out on them at argos. :)

Thought I'd report that  the 6 pack of the big power ponies has been reduced to £30 in Tesco. Which is bit if a bargain when the brushables singles are still over £6.

Mum just got me one for Christmas :D
