It's a shame your hair isn't working the way you want it, that's so frustrating...

on the bright side, I'd totally buy a reject-rainbow hank off you if you needed funds to buy new white hair! I love the white streaks.

OK, well its not just you. I just did 2 new hanks of it just then. First one I did straight out of the bag as I would normally. And yep lots of white streaks didn't take any colour. So second I washed the hank first with dishwashing liquid and very hot water to remove any grease etc. and then went and did the dying, no difference at all between the 2. The hair is still wet, an its not easy to see in the pics, but its certainly there. What a crap. So its the new hair! Wish I had stashes of the old stuff.

Ok, Tina got back to me.  They use two spools of hair when the make their hanks.  She thinks old spool was older Virgin Snow and one is newer.  She is going to run a few tests on the newer spool to see if it has problems taking dye.  I'll pass along any info :)

Huh. Is it possible to just remove the sections that didn't take dye? It looks to me like it's entire strands, not sections of strands, so maybe that would work for a short-term solution? *head scratch*
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

It's something I suggested to my customer.  I haven't heard back yet.  It would definitely lessen the hanks and take a longggg time.  My main concern is that the rainbow would become misaligned during the white removal process.

Wow- that's a shame.  I don't see how it could be new spool vs. old spool, maybe more likely old spool plus wrong spool.

I dyed 2 hanks last night to test it out and had the same problem.

and another one on a pony. I didn't take out all the white strands but I took out big chunks as I came to them.
