How to Remove Painter's Army Sealant on Resin?
« on: September 09, 2013, 05:57:53 PM »
Does anyone know how to do this?  I have some BJD repairs to do, and a possible customer mentioned that she sealed it with that. Googling isn't coming up with anything.

Thanks!

You could always ask the company producing the sealant, else I'd go with the mr hobby thinner as the staff at Volks told me that that's what they use for all face-up/paint/sealant removals.

Hope you'll get more replies soon!

What have you tried so far?

I'd see is a magic eraser would get it off first. Also try soaking it in cold water for a bit first, might help soften the sealant.

Try Winsor & Newton brush cleaner & restorer, or 91% rubbing alcohol. Avoid nail polish remover & acetone, as these solvents react poorly with some resins (though they work just fine on some, but better not risk it). Sometimes a bit of a soak is in order for stubborn sealants, but just for a few minutes, then scrub, rinse, repeat. Good luck!
