Where do your dolls live?
« on: May 30, 2013, 07:16:16 AM »
Hi guys,my daughter has about 40 dolls that she would like to keep on display(and play with) I keep mine on a shelf but thats because mine are not played with lol so I was thinking of maybe making her a large M/H themed dolls house ;)
Where does everyone keep their dolls? Do you have a dolls house for them? can I see pics please
also does anyone have the school,is it any good?

http://www.amazon.com/Teamson-Monster-Spooky-House-Furniture/dp/B009BACTPE

I know it's really expensive (and I think you could find it cheaper somewhere, Kmart for example is the first place I saw it I believe), but this thing is really cute, already pretty cartoon monster-fied and a pretty good scale for Monster High. :)

I don't know if it would hold 40 dolls, but here's someone's set-up showing that official MH furniture can fit inside it:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/just-a-nobody/8193288702/ (Not my photo, though I wish it were! I'd totally love it if I had the space and the monies for it...) Also, this is the alternate corner-facing version. Same scale and stuff, but I think this version is only (?) available in Europe?

Well, I hope that was sort of helpful. ^^; My dollies also live on a shelf, so I have no useful personal advice.

I know we have a couple members here with the school playset, which is supposed to be pretty nice, but I personally like the more traditional look of a dollhouse. Also, I know lots of space-challenged collectors (and also members here ) make more manageable, DIY room-by-room dollhouses. These can even be collapsible, packed into binders, that kind of thing.

My dolls live on a nightstand and in the top drawer.  I don't have enough space for my MH girls right now.

We have the school. We got it for $40 at Wal-Mart and honestly the best thing I use it for is a background for pics of the dolls. My kids ages 9,6,4 and 3 played with it the day we got it and then lost interest. It's a nice little set but I am glad I didn't pay what others have or I would have been not so happy! It holds up well with play but the bleachers and the lunch room table are always taken apart by my kids and they are usually very good about keeping things in one piece.

Mine are all on top of my computer desk. I have room for about 20 dolls in a straight row. I'm actually planning on making a few room boxes to display them in. I'm making a bedroom for Draculaura, Clawdeen & Howleen and either Frankie or Lagoona.

Mine are on a cheap Wal-Mart shelf. I'd like to get something better but there is no room. Some of the displays here are really awesome. I am envious! :D

Thanks guys :)
Keelee_von_Cupcake- I love that spooky house something like that would be perfect but I bet shipping to the uk would be expensive lol
The school here is £89 I think its maybe a little over priced for what it is,if I ever see it on sale I might consider getting it.
Sprinkles- your dolls look so pretty x
I think I might take a trip round the charity shops and look for a old dolls house I could redecorate x

My dolls are hanging out on a regular bookshelf.

I know at some hobby stores they sell house shaped book cases:

They can be kind of pricey but usually the stores give out 40% coupons so it's not bad.

I want this one, it's cute:)

Is that alduin from skyrim?! If it is that's freaking awesome! How did you get it?

Maybe you could get an old Barbie dream house to redecorate? That would probably be big enough. I know I had one as a kid that I would be willing to sell. It folds up and everything. But I must warn you the whole thing is pink!

This actually sounds like a really fun, awesome project! Maybe if you don't want it ill do it myself. Or if you do, maybe I could do it to my sisters and try to sell it as a monster high dollhouse.
