My Eyevette (pictured in my sig) was rehaired using yarn from Hobby Lobby. Problem is, the seller never rehaired the big hole in the center of her head and it's driving me nuts! I figured I'd just get some matching yarn to rehair the plug myself. Only problem is, the seller got the yarn from Hobby Lobby and we don't have those in CT.
Is anyone near me that might be of assistance?
-
I actually will be passing a Hobby Lobby tomorrow. Do you have the name of the color and brand?
-
I don't have a brand name unfortunately, but the seller said each skein is 30 cents. She also said the colors aren't named, but instead numbered. Which doesn't help too much! Basically my Eyevette is rooted with three colors - a deep plum purple, a medium tone purple, and a very pale lavender. Not sure how big of a variety they have in purple at 30 cents though!
-
Is there any way she knows the numbers or can find them?

No, she doesn't have them. All she said was that it was embroidery yarn at 30 cents a skein. Honestly, I'd be happy with any similar looking purple colors at 30 cents a skein! I can't imagine them carrying too many colors at that price! ha!

Cam you post a nice close up picture of Eyevette's hair please?

That looks like embroidery floss versus yarn. Does it separate easily and not make fuzzies?
-
I'll take a look as soon as I get out of the tub!
-
yeah im pretty sure thats embroidery floss o.O id suggest going into any craft store you have around and see if they have it, i bet they do. :p bring your doll to compare the colors.
-
That's DEFINATELY embroidery floss. You can find it at places such as Michael's Arts and Crafts. They have about 100 different colors and they're extremely cheap.
-
If it is embroidery floss, and I'm pretty sure it is, it would be much cheaper for you to hit your local Micheal's or Jo Ann Fabrics than it would be for me to buy it an HL and ship it to you. You would be able to match colors better.
-
OK, thanks for the input guys. I'll try a Michael's after work tomorrow then!
Thanks for your help, guys, and thanks BlueChaos for your generous offer.
-
Not a problem. Glad I could help.
-
I found it today and my Eyevette's hole in her head is now filled. Yay!!! Thx guys!
-
Yay for Eyevette! I'm sure she is much happier now! Not to mention you too, lol!
-
Awesome!

Yep! I got about five colors in the event that I might pick the wrong color. Only one ended up being a match (the med purple) but the light purple color (it was actually more a blue when I brought it home) was close enough, so I used those two colors to fill the plug.
-
Pics of newly rooted Eyevette? :D
-
Not yet, Chi! You really wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway!
-
I'm so glad you found it! I have some of that same embroidery floss, and it really is nice stuff. I've used it on ponies before.
-
I guess that's a good thing, then! :D
