Crunchyroll did some kind of update recently. I logged on today and got a "is this really you" email even though I was using the same computer and equipment (router, Internet box etc..) that I always use.  I always delete cookies from my browser and start a new session before I start streaming.  I'm hoping that the update is the reason I got the email as I haven't had an issue with deleting my history before streaming before.  I do remember getting a "is this really you" email before but I can't remember if it was because Crunchyroll updated or if it was because I switched browsers or equipment.

I need to catch up on Spy Family.  I'm pretty sure the last one I saw was the one about the penguins.

I watched the second episode of A Sign of Affection.  There was a moment where English speakers were speaking very slowly, but at least the subtitles matched what they were saying this time.

Spoiler
I know it's common for anime characters to have unusual hair colors, but it looks like Yuki's natural color is brown and she dyes it pink?  It was brown in the flashback to her in elementary and high school.

Since we see things from Yuki's perspective, I think she doesn't get why Oshi says and does the things he does, but I think he's trying to look out for her.

I'm about halfway through Sailor Moon S (that's the third season). It's the season that Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus appear.

Daiya/Diamond no Ace is getting another season!  :D :D :cheer: :cheer:

It's been confirmed that production has started on Act 2 Season 2.  I'm assuming it will be at least a year before we see any new episodes, but I'm so happy that the anime will finish and not be left where it was.  Now if we could get an update like that on Yona.

When I was telling my mom about the anime continuing, she asked me how long it took to play the baseball game (the final game in the series)  It amused me that she remembered me telling her that the last baseball game took a very long time to finish in the manga.

Also, Cartoon Network is going to start airing the Viz dub of Sailor Moon during their Toonami block in the US starting May 31st.   I already have all of the Viz dub of SM on DVD, but it might be a way for those that are interested and haven't seen the Viz dub yet to give it a chance.

Oh, that is good news! I really haven't been paying attention, but I was sorting my manga the other day and thinking, why hasn't there been a final series! But hopefully there will be now. I hope they go back and start it where it should have started...but I'm not sure they will. They skipped a whole game between Ichidai and Yakushi and while the game in the manga bores me to tears, it's still part of the plot...

Yeah, that final game did take...was it eight months of manga? Or was it more??

I did go look up the announcement post but nothing in the Japanese indicates timescale. So we don't know yet. I guess your timeline is probably accurate...maybe October if we're lucky, but I think the last two were January starts.

I am trying to imagine how many series it would take to finish Yona. Not that Yona is finished, yet, but it's definitely moving in that direction. I know I've been saying that for ages but still.

I was thinking about that skipped game in Daiya too.  I wonder if they will do something similar to the recap episodes at the beginning of season 2, where characters are talking about the game and the animation is showing clips/highlights of important moments?  That's just my theory though.

I figure it's going to take quite a while to get everything together and get the series ready to air.  I know Eijun's va and Nori/Zeno's va among others in the cast always seem to have new roles in different animes so I'm factoring in that some of the vas might have current roles to complete before they can record new dialogue for their Daiya characters.

Speaking of va's I think I've gotten better at recognizing Eijun's.  Although a lot of his other characters should like an older Eijun to me.

Out of curiosity I looked up how long the first finals game took to finish in the anime and it looks like was 13 episodes.  I can't imagine how long it will take the next final game to be.

I don't remember how long that last game took in the manga, but I remember it took many, many months.

Maybe I need to rewatch Daiya....

I'm hoping I can catch up on some animes soon.

I am rewatching Daiya at the moment. I'm debating whether to continue and read to the end in the manga. Probably will finish long before the new series airs. Also, I may watch THOSE episodes now I know how the whole thing ends :)

I'm really tempted to rewatch Daiya.

Netflix finally announced Sailor Moon Cosmos is coming in August.  Hopefully it will have both English and Japanese available as I watch SM in English.  Maybe we'll get Eternal on physical copies now since Cosmos is coming.  I'm glad Cosmos will be on streaming first as I've heard a few things and think there's something added in that wasn't in the manga (the 90's anime added stuff too) so I'll be able to see for myself.  Crystal followed a lot closer than the 90's version, but still added or left out things.

Furuya's seiyuu is also involved in quite a lot of things at any one time. I figure they'll work it out somehow though. It's not uncommon for voice artists to be on multiple things at once, and just be in the studio on days their character needs to be involved (albeit for Eijun especially that's going to be a lot of time, LOL...)

The missing game is
Spoiler
Ichidai v Yakushi round 3

And I'm genuinely more annoyed that a little clip of Toujou etc teasing Eijun got cut than I am that the whole of that game is missing (lol), but...

Spoiler
given how much the author likes Yakushi - they were his original team he wanted to write about - I imagine he'd want to see the game animated.

The scenes I'm most looking forward to, however, would be
Spoiler
right at the end between Miyuki and Mei, and the final chapters that were straight to tankoubon and not in the zasshi manga magazines

It will be interesting to see if there is any anime-only content as well. Or if Terajima will try and write
Spoiler
the game between Teitou and Ugumori
before the series concludes, so it can be included.

Now I'm curious if there's any episodes where Eijun doesn't speak.

I took a screenshot from a Youtube video that screenshotted the original announcement about the anime continuing and a drawing from Terajima celebrating the news.

Can you tell if the speech bubble in the middle belongs to Miyuki or
Furuya?

I think I remember that scene in the anime where the teasing was cut.  The scene comes across as a bit awkward because it feels out of character  without the whole thing in it.

That's interesting about Yakushi.

Lately I've been obsessed with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure This is my newest hyperfocus. I've been reading and buying the manga and I've already watched the anime about 6 times. My favorite part is Phantom Blood.

I think that two of the speech bubbles belong to Eijun and the other is Miyuki's. It's the style of the bubble as much as anything. The one at the back says "yaru zo" (basically, we're gonna do this, informal language, masculine particle). THat one's Miyuki, he's got the tiiiny speech thing towards him.

The other two say "Sha! Tsui ni!" Sha is basically an exclamation. Tsui ni means "finally!" They're both spiky bubbles so I think both Eijun. Mochi and Haruichi are just there to look pretty ;)

They often promote Daiya stuff with these five. I guess they probably are the five most popular Seidou characters...? Or at least the five most important..?

At the back Furuya has a tiny "ji-i-n" written over him in hiragana, which is the thing he does when he's reliving and enjoying a moment (like when he gets praised LOL)

The header just says TV anime continuation - production confirmed.

Thanks Taffeta.  :)
It makes sense that the spiky bubbles belong to Eijun.

I started rewatching Daiya too. For some reason, Crunchyroll wouldn't let me go straight to the first episode. I had to load the last episode of Act 2 and then go to the episode one.   It was interesting see Ryousuke. Mochi etc... in the background when Eijun and Miyuki were about to face Azuma

I watched a Sign of Affection episode 3.  Here's a clip from it.  I don't think it spoilers anything, but I'm using the tags anyway just in case.

At 1:39-1:40  Itsuomi  says something that isn't in English or Japanese.  We know he's traveled to many countries and speaks several languages.

I picked up the Boy and Heron the other day.

I also saw a post where people were questioning how the citizens of Tokyo could fall for all of the schemes of Jadite Nephrite, Zoisite and Kunzite so easily, but it's established early on (at least in the anime) that they have powers so it's not that unbelievable to me that the villains could easily use those  to get people to do what they want.

It doesn't look like Free Final stroke will have a release for Western audiences anytime soon.

I watched a bit of Sign of Affection but I can't get over the fact that
Spoiler
her mother apparently hasn't learned sign language. This is just so not believable to me on any level amd it irked me so much that I stopped watching (lol). How she is magically able to communicate and lipread because literally nobody who apparently cares about her bothered to learn to sign.

Aside the male lead of course but he's a late arrival.

Maybe this is clarified later on but seriously? When I was in Japan, there were regularly TV shows about learning sign language, but the girl's own mother can't be bothered to learn it?

...Been watching Daiya, almost at the end. I'm going to pick up the manga when I get to the end of it, but I am looking forward to the rest being animated. I'm estimating January may be the release, but we'll see. It may be longer depending how much they've done so far.

A Sign of Affection

Spoiler
I must have missed that.  I thought the friend Yuki goes to school with knows a little sign language, but not as much as Itsuomi or Yuki's childhood friend that seems to say mean things to her all of the time.  I feel like it's one of those amines where there's a lot going on at the same time.  I also didn't catch that the mother doesn't know how to sign. I agree that doesn't make sense.

I found out that the line that isn't in Japanese or English is actually German because  Itsuomi spent a lot of time there.
