Pony Corral / Re: Mysterious Ball
« on: December 22, 2021, 02:30:20 PM »
LadyMoondancer I have taken the ball out of multiple Fizzys and it’s about 50/50 if they stand! I’m sure BF wouldn’t put something that would corrode inside of them! In twenty years I’ll ask you how it turned out lol

Pony Corral / Basic Fun Tails
« on: December 22, 2021, 12:11:07 PM »
Hey is anyone concerned or has it crossed any ponies mind about the basic fun tails staining the ponies body over a long period of time? I’ve had some vintage ponies that certain color hair bleed into the ponies neck, or around the tail hole, or leg! This happened when the hair was resting there for years and years lol
I suppose as long as you always keep them boxed it’s no problem, but I always purchase extra to customize at a later date! My MOCs don’t seem to have that problem, but I’ve definitely noticed it on opened ponies! I was even thinking of opening them and wrapping a Saran Wrap or barrier, but I guess in the next forty years I’ll be 80 lol and I might not care so much haha

The ball is in her right back leg (the display side) I have her twice and both had it! I’m extracting them, in case they rust, I wish they had just injected her legs with more pony plastic! That’s really interesting about the washers and tail balancing the originals!
The balls were easy to pop out when the pony is softened with hot water or a heating pad! And I’m pretty sure these BFs are really for adults lol they know their demographic

That makes a lot of sense! It’s funny they would think of that, who ever is on this design team must love the little ponies….or is really great at marketing!

Pony Corral / Mysterious Ball
« on: December 15, 2021, 07:59:53 PM »
I decided to open my BF fizzy last night and there was a large rattle (not a small rattle) so I opened her up to investigate…. Inside her foot was a metal ball, like a marble. I softened her with hot water and eventually worked the ball through her knee joint, but am pretty perplexed how it got into her hollow foot! It must be something that cleans the machine, or exfoliates the ponies lol, any ideas from the manufacturing side? I almost want to reach out to them, do to the safety hazard, but do not want to compromise them making more ponies lol

Pony Corral / Re: Rehairs? yay or nay?
« on: December 12, 2013, 11:25:07 PM »
Yay Thanks for all the insight! It's opened my mind to rehairs a lot! I've always thought them beautiful maybe someday Ill have a few, but also my pony collection is part of my retirement! I work a lot with antique dolls, and one of those pesky things that skyrocket the price is original hair! Honestly It's up to each of you what you do with your personal property, and if it gives a poor little pony a second chance to be loved ...then its beautiful and amazing! Rehairers out there Do make original ponies value go up! So rehair all you want! Make those girls gorgeous! Enjoy life to it's fullest and don't listen to haters! Thanks again everybody!

Pony Corral / Rehairs? yay or nay?
« on: December 09, 2013, 02:19:23 AM »
So recently I've noticed there is someone online out there that is taking "what they call bait" ponies, that look like they're in pretty awesome condition to me, and re-hairing them, which is beautiful... but, it's not the traditional colors, I really feel bad for those collectors out there that want to remember what their actual memory would be! does anyone feel my angst?! Rehairs are beautiful...Im a traditionalist at heart though, and those re-haired ponies lose their value if re-haired improperly with color changes! Meaning when your grandkids take them to Antiques Roadshow in eighty years, the original hair even if frizzy will be worth more than if you've had them restored, especially restored improperly! Thanks for reading my rants!...rable rable..lol Ponies Forever!

Pony Corral / Re: How do you arrange your ponies?
« on: October 13, 2013, 11:14:09 PM »
Showcase each pony! In My room there are like twenty little shelves.... adding more as ponies come, each pony can be veiwed, trick of it makes your collecton seem more vast...and you can really see the ponies! I see a lot of collections where they have all the ponies all crammed together, I have mommas and baby shelf, twinkle eye shelf, flutter shelf, it makes fore a nice quite place ...ill often get lost in my room just lookin at ponies!

Pony Corral / Re: Help Wanted: Pretty Parlor Discolouring
« on: October 13, 2013, 11:05:06 PM »
Look up online ...discolored plastic/rubber restoration, a lot comes up about faded car plastic parts, I found it useful when I purchased a dream castle with heavy fading, Im pretty sure you submerge them in a clear container and fill it with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and oxi-clean, but it has to be fully submerged to get an even color....it takes days like this sitting in a sunny place and little crystals may grow as water is evaporated! results...It softened the color contrast, there is still a slight visible fading but all in all, I do think it helped make My Dream Castle a more pristine place to live!

Aww..Most of mine were my cousins so they have a mb and a bb underneath their feet, I think I wrote cf on a couple, but I loved mine sooo much,
that I only have a few of my own left. I remember we had this giant bucket full of them it was like heaven! I remember I use to love to put them on on the trampaleen and have a pony shower!

Pony Corral / Re: Fizzy Variant?!
« on: September 29, 2013, 05:26:20 PM »
To those of you with some curiosity on this subject I have finely heard from my friend whom worked for hasbro/matel back in the late eighties to mid nineties for their design team, she shared with me how they would actually create the 'rump design' as they called it before cutie mark, in a stencil type process which was form fitting and then painted on and replaced as they would wear out, if it was placed on upside down then there would be a batch done like this or at least until they caught the problem or maybe they never noticed at all!

My mistake not upside down, but switched from left side to right side...each side had a different painting mechanism!

Hmm..most of my sosofts are deflocked, although my opinion of flocked versus deflocked has changed. on one hand I feel the glue leads to pony cancer, on the other hand Id love to keep them as they came, ultimately I want to have both a deflocked next to flocked pony. I also haven't started collecting mail order ponies yet, Im starting from beginning and working my way up...And to help with the growing pony cancer ...have you ever taken her head off and given her a good clean and dry job? if you were to clean her out really well with acetone or alcohol and flip her upside down for a few days on a towel to dry it might help with the cancer....Ive opened up some ponies with really bad cancer spots and it was like full of crazy black mucky moldy mildew stuff on the inside of her. I hear the cause of such cancer is because of taking them in the bath tub when we were kids..which was the funest to do! also the weights and washers might be all rusted inside of them, also the actual plastic might be breaking down...I hope its not inevitable that it must happen to all ponies! Ive seen MOC's with pony cancer...but clean her out if you haven't already, if her heads stuck on really good be careful getting it off maybe an exacto knife and some hot hot water but be carful!! good luck!

Thanks for your participation! I WILL get to the bottom of this..haha if only we could talk to a factory worker who could give me a reason why a mirrored image was printed...they would have to create a whole new stamp for this to happen! So do you think when they send each factory all the molds, stamps, paint and hair the computerized image got reversed or maybe it was at the end of production and the stamp was worn out so they created a new one only in reverse? I don't know..but Im a pretty good Nancy Drew...my production number on this flipped Fizzy MOC is... (G in a square) 4977/4764 Asst. and on back the patent No. is D-269,986 it also has H-33 on the bottom of back card, does anyone have a MOC fizzy with numbers on the card different to these ones? and further does anyone know if the letter in a square indicates the factory in which they were made? I noticed that my MOC Powder has a letter F in a square!
