Hello everyone!! :frolic:
im please and super excited to show you this project i been working on for ages now!, i started it years ago, but due to health issues i had to put it aside for quite a while :drunk: but now that im feeling much better i finally got at it!
as you may or may not know im a ton into plushies and have been a plushie artist for the couple last years, since i first started i really wished to make a super cute lovely G1, it will always be my most loved generation and i never got to have a pony plushie growing up so i really wanted to bring one to life.
also, it came to my attention that while there were lots of people requesting commissions for G4 no one was asking for G1 and most collectors here in the arena mentioned that they couldn't afford the high prices, so i thought on not only making a cute g1 pony that had all the pony feeling on it but also was more affordable to others and here is the result!!
after hours and hours of work....
:art:
after days of going crazy fixing details....
:nerdy:
after several prototypes!...
:drunk:
and lots of money and time invested....
:yikes:
hahaha sorry for all the suspense XD
im just so excited!!
:silly:
these cuties would like to say hi!!......
:accomplished:

do you like them? do you like them?
i hope i didn't disappoint!
they are my latest prototypes
they have a little couple flaws, i sew them so fast! i was to excited XD
so let get into details, these girls are 9" long laying down, slightly bigger than a regular pony
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
So here is the thing, i machine sew the girls on the pics, but if i were to sew every pony i made it not only will be tons of work but also prices couldn't be as low,
so... my plan is to sell sewing kits for you to make them!
you would be getting the fabric of the pony of your choice and enough stuffing for it (also eye jewels for twinkle eyes), the pattern will be already on the fabric, so it will be pretty much "cut, sew and stuff!"
they will come with instructions and illustrations to help you assemble them, and don't worry, i designed these their pattern to be the easiest, simplest, and easiest to put together as i could! and also did the best to keep a low piece count :o
you dont really need a sewing machine, they are good projects for intermediate beginners, but you can certainly give it a try if you have never sewn before (i specially had you guys in mind when designing them) would be a good start for those who want to try their hand at plushie making!
i still need to do a couple adjustments to the pattern, and finish the instructions, then ill be opening for preordes to know how man of each to print :D
next time ill show you how the boy pony!!! :D
he is so handsome!
and a couple new girls!
:lovey:
im also working on the final price, this is my first time selling sewing kits, and usually my plush work sells for a high price so im still figuring this out, dont be scared though, i dont plan asking as much as mi high end finished plushies XD
what are your thoughts??
do you like how that sounds?
well here is another little project....
pillows made with the G1 stickers!
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
they are made out of cotton and are rather small
here is a pony between them to give you an idea about size
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
is till a bit heastiant about these as they have the names and trademark on them and that could be bad? not sure, any thoughts on that?
im also machine sewing these myself, stuffed and sewn closed
these are up for sale, drop me a message if you are interested
what are your thoughts? should i make more with the other characters?
and what about the pony plushies?? did you like them? ;D
which characters would you like to see first?
i certaily have plans to make the mountain boys and twice as fancy as they are my favorites!! :D
i also have plans on making g4, but that be latter, i have a pattern on progress, but would prefer to focus on this girls and boys first
thanks so far if you have read all the way through!!!!
let me know your thoughts!!

These plushies are so darn cute, especially the way they can pose - Mimic sitting makes me awww!
Plus the idea to sell them as kits is an inspired one, I reckon it would be so much fun to make one of these girls... or boys, can't wait to see them.
I think I'll have to keep an eye on this thread, I might just need a little Posey. Commissioning ponysonas would be sweet too.
I love the sticker pillows too, every couch could use one. ^.^
-
Oh my goodness, you have done an amazing job on these!! I feel they are squeal worthy, and I don't do that very often!!! *squeals*
That Mimic is absolutely to die for!!! I think you have a great idea, letting people build their own saves your time, and let's people feel accomplished to finish them!
Can't wait to see what other awesome ponies are next!
-
Those ponies are absolutely precious omg! I'm garbage at sewing but I'd still be tempted to buy a kit and give them a try, they're too cute to pass up! I love the button pillows too! I feel like they might look nice on my couch lol!
-
These are super cute!!
a few questions.
kits-
-will you be open to having oc ponies too?
-can you order the body and not the hair? (if you want to sew a different hair style- custom work for that would be hard, so just doing it on my own would be the work around)
-if you order without the hair, would the price be a little cheaper?
-will there be a pegasus too?
- how much do the kits cost?
-if we want to bypass on the stuffing is that an option? cheaper?
-if others ask us to assemble the kits for them, are we allowed to ask for payment? (nothing crazy, just want to know if it would be swap box or personal only thing. some people can't sew, so not sure if its a service you'd allow others to do, or if you'd like to partner on that at all)
very excited hoping to get a few. depends on cost of course. i have 2 oc ponies that are pretty much boy versions of gen1 babies. so they are pretty simple, but i have two that are more complicated.
do you create the pattern in the computer? is there a template for creating ocs?
sorry if there are so many questions i just love this idea!! and the ability to sew them myself makes it even more special. I have 4 ponies i collect in every style plush i can afford. so i'm hoping these will join my family!!! love!! great job!!!
-
Oh my gosh, I would love to have that Night Glider in my collection! Will be on the watch for your sales!
-
Holy plushie, Batman! These are amazing! I would love several plush ponies... first I suggest the TAFs, namely Sugarberry. She's super popular. Personally, I'd love to add Dancing Butterflies, Starshine, and Posey to my collection. And Rosedust flutter pony. Oh! Baby ponies!
-
Super amazing work!!! Im normally not after handmade plushies and that like but I love them and I adoooooore those pillows!!!
-
These are ADORABLE and I LOVE them!!!! EEEEE so cute!
-
Wow, these are great! I love the idea of making something good looking, yet affordable. Will definitely be watching this :D
-
I'll be watching for those kits to go on sale. I NEED THEM!
-
These are the cutest G1 plushies I've ever seen. I would love to have a Raincurl for my army!
-
Yeah, I'm going to need you to quit being so talented. You're making the rest of us look bad. ;)
They are AMAZING OMG! How did you print the designs on the fabric??
-
Wow! These are great! Man, that Night Glider is tempting...
-
Oh wow, these are SO cute!! And what a fun idea to sell them as kits.
I love sewing, but I've never tried a plushie on my sewing machine before so this would be a great chance to do that! I will definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

These are ADORABLE! I'm thinking of making some plushies my self. If you don't mind me asking, what type of fabric are they made of?
-
Wow wow wow!! These are super super super duper cute! Both plushies & cushions. I would certainly be interested in the plushies especially if there's a Lollipop one ;) although i do love those 3 you have made so cute!
Looking forward to seeing the brother ones
-
I adore these! I especially love how you did their manes. And Mimic's eyes look awesome. Love the sticker pillow idea as well :cheer:
-
They are beautiful!
-
These are freakin adorable! :inlove: Love the sticker cushions too!
-
thank you everyone!!! im so happy to hear you like them and some are willing to give sewing a try :D that is so encouraging!! thank you so so much!
now to answer some of your questions :D
- the fabric used is Minky, which is super soft and cuddly and what is usually used with high end plushies
- ofcourse! if others ask you to assemble the kits for them you can ask for payment! you can sell the plushie you make out of the kits! :D you can ask what you think would be fair pay for your sewing work :)
that would be grate as then people who dont have the time to sew themselves can have the chance to get one, i can let people know that there will be kind pony fellows selling assambled plushies :)
- i do been considernig making oc ponys, i think it would be so fun! but that may be in the future as my work load goes down a little, right now i have my hands full and making a new pony each time is lots of work :p
- about ordering the body and not the hair, i imagine you may want to give them yarn or pony hair?, so if they were not to come with neither mane nor tail i think i could take special orders for those :) and cost may my decrease a little
btw, different ponies will have different hair styles, there are going to be 3 : curly, straight and wavy, ill show you how the other look in my next photos, sorry for the delay with those, ive been quite busy!
- yes! there will be pegasus!, actually i ended making fizzy a pegacorn/alicorn just to try the wings, haha should have just made a pegasus XD
im also working now on developing a baby and have plans for sea ponies and perhaps flutters with shimmery wings *_*
also! i plan on making non relesaed boy ponies, like boy applejack, minty, firefly and what not, if you have any suggestions which ones i should make first let me know!
- im still checking the costs, after looking around ive seen that most sewing kits are in the $24 range price, so it may be something around that
- yes, im thinking on offering an option with no stuffing although not sure how much that will reduce the price in general, but i think shiping costs would go much lower
regarding the cushions!
they are made out of cotton fabric, teh bigger ones are $18.50 and the smaller ones $16.80
but i got the idea of making them pillow covers, and without all the stuffing they use that would decrease the cost :)
if you like any of the ones i have for sale let me know!
thanks again for all your positive feedback! it means the world to me!! :D
-
These are absolutely amazing! I love everything happening on your thread!
I'm a little short on funds right now, but sometime soon I would love to get a pillow of Glory's sticker.
And I actually love to sew myself, would you be willing to sell the pattern? Regardless of whether I could sell what I make- I don't think we would be competing, because yours are so pretty, and everything I sew looks shabby. (I like it that way, this isn't meant to be a slam at myself!) The old G1 patterns are cute, but the faces are all wrong- you got the faces right! Honestly, if those G1 patterns had a dog body but got the face right, I wouldn't be as annoyed. I have so much respect for anyone who can make a pattern- I've tried a few times to make my own patterns for things or to alter a pattern I have, and there is just something about it that doesn't click in my brain.
I will be watching this thread. When my paypal builds itself back up, I'll be messaging you. Thank you for all the trouble you've gone through to make a lovely pony!
-
The prices you've mentioned are super affordable, imo. I can't wait to see the others you've made :)
I vote for a boy Bowtie or Bubbles!
-
let me know when orders are open.
-
thank you for your interest! if all goes well ill be having these ready for purchase on a couple of weeks, i should have several characters ready by then :)
ill make a post here about it when they are ready including a link to the store
here are some photos of the new ponies, the color is off due to bad lighting, my apologies for the bad quality, all the rain hasnt helped taking good photos :P
the boy pony is bigger than the girls, i already plan on making all the mountain boys :D
as you can see there will be 3 different hairstyles, curly like fizzy has, wavy (although ill give buttons curly hair too) and stright like gusty has.
i gave fizzy wings to show you how pegasus ponies would look like :D
hope you like them!

-
I've never purchased a plushie but I absolutely adore yours! I think they're so perfect and that it would be so much fun to sew one myself! I hope you're able to find a great new printer. The work you've put into the pattern making is admirable :iconclap:
I've done it with leather for years, but it's not easy to get everything just right. Great job!
I'm looking forward to the day these go on sale...and it looks like I'm not the only one, judging by this thread :lovey:
-

-
Oh I hope you can find a good printer because I really want to buy one of each kit! It's such an awesome idea. My mom hasn't been sewing much lately because she's down and these kits are something we could do together to cheer her up!
-
The sticker pillows are completely amazing! I just adore them!
-
I missed seeing the update so I'm really late to saying how adorable the second batch of ponies are. Love the different hairstyles and the boy pattern, super cute.
-
These are gorgeous and I'm so excited!!! Hoping for Princess Serena, Heartthrob, or Mirror Mirror <3
-
Boy Applejack sounds like a cool idea. I thought she was a boy when I was younger.
-
Hello everyone!
Yay! Im so exited, reading your comments makes me so happy!
I hope you all enjoy them wheb they are ready!
@saramary love the idea! Hope you would have lots of fun!
And here is an update!
Ithink i found another print service! Yay! Its at driving distance and the owner ( a really nice woman) even let me get into her computer to check some printer adjustments and stuff!!! the colors werent coming out right, but ill be working with her to get the settigs right to make all colors crisp and pretty!
I already made most of the adjustments on the pattern that were needed, still have to make those instructions tho :p
So yay! One step closer!
Ill keep you all updated!
Thanks so much for the support!!
-
I'm so excited to see you finally release these!
-
:whoa: These are amazing!! I'm never too into plush ponies, but I don't think I've ever wanted a plush more than one of these before!! They are adorable!!
I would kill for that Ice Crystal!
I would absolutely buy one of these kits later on when I have more money for it, I may see about having someone sew it for me though as I tend to mess up sewing projects a lot. >.>
I would absolutely be interested in other breeds like Seaponies too.
eeee! :frolic:
-
Yay!!! Thanks for the update, yaizel! Super excited to one day have a Gusty one of your plushes! ^-^
-
Oh man I would love to know how you got the symbols on the plushies!
I've been wracking my brain over that for a long time for different types of fabrics (especially the fuzzier ones)
-
plushies are nice but I love the cushions :)
-
*bumping in to bookmark your Instagram*
-
That's so awesome you were able to find a printer near by and make the adjustments to the pattern, exciting update! I can't wait to purchase some!
-
I’m usually not a fan of non-licensed stuff when it comes to MLP, but these are so awesome! And they’re actually more attractive to me knowing that I would be the one to assemble them!! If Gingerbread ever becomes an available pattern, I’m so getting her. These are so amazing!
-
That awesome news! I can't wait! Hopefully they'll be available once I finish my current sewing projects. I'd love to see Chief, Paradise, or the Apple Delight family
