I adore the purple eye pupils on the black pony here. So pretty.
I would love for some of the color combos to turn out to be real.

I've picked up rather a few. Didn't get any of the Mrs. Dazzle Cake or Nurse Redheart recolors, unfortunately, but all the other molds seem to be covered in at least one outlandish color combo. The newest bunch I have there, with the griffon and the zebra and the wonderbolt and the center Pinkie and some others, have the glossy paint and blank hooves (i.e. they're not using the official molds).

They are probably reverse moulding and simply removing the Hasbro branding.

I got a 10 piece lot of these off of eBay the other day! I think I now want more of them. I need the yellow Zecora, blue Gilda, and pink Wonderbolt and would absolutely love any of the Nurses!

You know, I could almost imagine these things being some sort of legitimate release, kind of like the Design-A-Pony figures but on a smaller scale, if we end up with a full 7x6 grid of color/shape possibilities.

Hey y'all, question. I just got the following inquiry over on the eBays:

About your fake ponies, I just wanted to ask what they are made of? If they are plastic, are they hallow. For instance do you think they could be sanded and shaped for customizing purposes?

And, like, I don't know. I have no experience making customs. Has anyone tried making customs from these doodads? (Excluding the ones that come in sets of seven with various color permutations, since they appear to be identical to the real thing in composition.) Can they be, um, "sanded and shaped"? I don't know what that means. As for the weight, at least, my scale is unable to detect even the slightest difference.

I've tried making customs of the shiny-plastic ones. They paint similarly to the official ones, but are much harder to cut with an xacto--I was trying to carve the letters off them. Small cuts like the letters worked fine, but any point thicker than that (I tried to carve the tail off a Pinkie mold) failed miserably.

From the weight, I'd guess they're solid, but I couldn't say for sure.

Ah, the things we see because of sneaky factory workers with crap-quality mold forms! Hahaha!! I feel bad for those playful pony sized fakes and their severely receding mane-lines....
