When ponies rub off on someone else

I've had multiple bosses over the last several years, but my favorite was the literacy facilitator at my school. She ended up becoming one of my best friends and this morning she sent me pictures from her Flea Marketing adventure. She apparently found a bag of ponies and bought them and was asking me about who they were.

Hehe, she knew about my pony habit, and I brought her a pony the last time when we were hanging out. Maybe I'm rubbing off on her a little.

Tell me about your collecting rubbing off on your friends.

I got my best friends 3 year old son into MLP FIM.  He now has several brushables, I think he has the castle with Cadence & Shining Armor, 3 train sets, Twilight Sparkle plush, baby Spike Plush, and I even sent him some pony posters and dvds.  If you're going to the MLP Fair he's the little guy dressed up as Spike!  He told his mom to make sure it looks exactly like Spike because he wanted people to know who he was supposed to be. hehe  He also informed his mom that she wasn't allowed to wear a pony costume because he wanted people to see his costume.

He doesn't really know other generations of ponies so we'll see what he thinks of them at the Fair.

She did not get me into ponies though, that I did all by myself. But she did get me into horses way back when, and later on: dolls. Although I have always been scared of dolls!

I have changed my girlfriend and her daughters life!!!!! lol im crazy about toys ALL KINDS!!! and I have been pushing them to find a toy they are into and my girlfriend picked ponies and lps and her daughter picked care bears and this has only added fuel to the fire for my collecting. People im telling you there is nothing like us three in a trift shop or at the flea market yelling at each other QUICK COME HERE!!!! LOOK AT THIS!!! its what we do its who we are AND I LOVE IT AND THEM...MY TEAM MY FAMILY

I guess the only friend I have who I can say that my pony collecting rubbed off on is my bestie... he now likes all things Dr. Whooves because he was a fan of Dr. Who, and since we're besties, he is always looking around for ponies for me at Goodwills and such, and when I told him they made a "Dr. Who pony", he was totally stoked. So now I buy him all kinds of Dr. Whooves stuff from Hot Topic and whatever, lol... and he does for himself too, so I guess I've rubbed off on him a bit!

I never really tell anyone besides my family that I like MLP, but some of my friends a few years ago were the ones who got me back into ponies by watching FIM.

I got my mom into collecting.  I would show her all my ponies and give her my doubles and then one day she decided that she really liked the g1 babies and wanted some of her own. . . 

She has more g1 babies than I do now.  . She also collects g1 boys.

My roommate got me into G4 MLP (and eventually collecting) but I don't think he had any plans to buy the toys until I came home with a Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. I have almost 700 ponies now, and he's actually liked some previous gen ponies.

I've given him G3 Autumn Skye, Waterfire and Starswirl because he liked them so much.

My friend Andrea(she went to the MLP Fair with me last year), before we headed down to the fair I got her a G4 Pinkie Pie just so she could at least say she had one pony Well, at the fair she found many different Pinkie Pie's and bought them. thats the only pony she likes. After the fair she started to watch the show. She still likes Pinkie Pie. Now she has a little Pinkie Pie army of about 9 Pinkie Pie's

My mum does not collect but she is my pony spotted If there is ever a gap in conversation she will mention ponies...I think because she is so hopeful of finding some G1s and beating me at my "in real life finds" tally [which is pretty pathetic anyway ]

My friend isn't into MLP. However she knows I am and her bff is. So between the two of us, she gets it from in person(me) and long distance (bff who recently moved).

I gave her two BB boy ponies (Big Mc and Royal Riff), a bit nervous. Because I didn't know if she'd like them or think I was off. For collecting them myself. No worries, she loved them. Especially Royal Riff, she plays several instruments and loved his cutie mark notes.

When we go to Hot Topic she'll point out any and all MLP stuff. Asking me about Dr Whooves or teasing me good naturally. About the lack of guy MLP shirts. :p

So it has rubbed off on her. Great stories everyone.

Lol.  There's a certain member here, I'll let him identify himself, who when I first met him said that G1's were fat ugly cows.  Then he saw my collection and that was the end of that.  I got him into fashion star fillies as well.  That was actually a secret ploy to have someone to sell my extras to.

Back in college, my pony collecting rubbed off on a friend, but it didn't stick. I guess I need some better glue!
