Title: Is there any hope for my poor Starshine?
Post by: partypony566 on April 04, 2012, 11:47:28 AM
So I bought a cheap lot of  12 G1s off ebay ( mainly for the Locket that was in there) and most of them are bad condition but Starshine is in a terrible way :(

( btw so you can gauge how discoloured she  is, the wall in the background is cream colour, not white O.o )

However I really don't want to bait her because her hair is so lovely and her eyes are perfect. Her body is discoloured and has loads of brown dots/cancer... is there anything to be done or is she a lost cause?

Also is this the type of mold that can spread to other ponies? :yikes:

IMHO this does not spread  if you love her the way she is keep her, don't bait her. i have a couple of brown starshines in my herd and it has not spread to any of my other ponies ;)

give her a wash and brush and add her to your collection :)

love pkw xxxx

Maybe you could sunfade her?

Maybe you could sunfade her?

Starshine doesn't sunfade, she sunburns and might be partly the reason she is that colour in the first place.
I'm not sure there is anything you can do to help her, maybe bleaching?

Hmmm....I dont think you can change her back...she ll burn if you try to sunfade her but it looks like general age marks and cancer which cant spread [although we paranoid think so] as nothing in it is alive...

Personally I would give her a clean over, hair brush, pop a ribbon in her tail and call her your "Snooki" Starshine...

Poor girl! I still need a replacement for mine too!

Has anyone tried the hydrogen peroxide treatment on the white ponies?

Bad news is she's sun damaged.  Good news is, it's not contagious!
The spots appear to be rust from her symbols, possibly some age spots.

Thanks everyone for the info and advice

pkw I will keep her as she is, I clean her up best I can, maybe I  can put some ponywear on her, that would cover up all the brown dots at least :cheer:

Cat I like that name lol

Skyrocketneko I haven't tried that  on any of my ponies yet....I might try it out one day though. Best of luck finding your Starshine upgrade :lovey:
