!!! Thank you!

It has such a weird crunchy "fake" feel to it, I don't care for it at all, but it LOOKS just fine.

I have a pretty decent camera, some daylight-equivalent photography lamps, a ton of Dollyhair nylon, and original G1 versions of nearly all these girls, so I'm gonna give it my best.

Quick observations:

The plastic is stiffer than the original G1 plastic, and it doesn't smell the same. It is clearly vinyl of some kind, it isn't hard plastic, it's just not as soft.  The head and neck fit together very smoothly, the seam is not obvious.

The hair is different.  I don't know what it is, but it isn't Nylon.  I don't like it very well to handle, but it's pretty to look at.

Despite what photos of them in the boxes might indicate, Snuzzle and Cotton Candy do not have the same shade of pink for the hair!  They are slightly different!  I love it.  It makes them feel more individual.

The colors are generally brighter; Minty's hair is whiter, the body colors are all a little brighter, Butterscotch's hair is a more vivid gold, etc.

They MAY be a HAIR bigger.  By that I mean a tiny, tiny bit.  I'm going to get batteries for my calipers and get REAL picky.

They are not a 100% faithful reproduction, but they are very good, and the overall impression I have of them is that Bridge Direct made them to look the way we REMEMBER the originals looking -- brighter, possibly slightly larger.

I consider them worth the price, most definitely.

I look forward to any others TBD releases and will be making an effort to obtain them, possibly multiples.

I for-real cried with happiness when I saw they were thinking about rereleasing my favorite playset.

Pony Corral / 35th Anniversary Pony hair type help?
« on: January 27, 2018, 09:07:45 PM »
My GF and I now have all 6 of these and are re-styling their hair tonight. These little ladies really are beautiful, we are very happy with them.

I want to put together an exhaustive comparative review but I'm having trouble with the new ponies' hair.  What IS it?  It doesn't feel like Nylon.  When it's wet, it kind of "crunches", and it has a generally drier feel to it.  The colors don't map to any of the Nylon hair colors I have (all from Dollyhair, and I have just about every non-natural color they make).

Can someone who has more experience with Saran, acetate, etc. tell me what this stuff is, or suggest a way to "test" it somehow?

Also, when I do have a review put together, would Pony Corral be the right place to post it?

Thank you everyone for the kind words! I am so happy with her!  She sat on my desk and watched me work on a new friend tonight.  It was GREAT to have her finished!

Yeah, I checked everything else I have.  I have all the DH whites, and all the "sparkly" colors like Diamond and Moonlight, which are both in the same neighborhood, but not close enough.  VS is too silky and not sparkly, Diamond is brilliantly white while Starlight is a softer silver, and Moonlight is a very light grayish silver, so it's too dark.  I'm STUCK.  If I'd known this would happen, I could have cut the Starlight with Diamond, but I didn't realize I was almost out!  I thought I had a whole nother package, turns out it was a package of a Moonlight/Starlight blend I'd mis-labeled.  D:

Speaking from experience, you WILL want the one with sentimental value, even if you're kind of meh about it right now.  Keep that one.

I hope so too!  This one hurts, because she is SO EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL and SO CLOSE to being done!  I feel like she's judging me!  (I know she's not, she's a sweet girl, but dang, those eyes haunt me.)
