Swaps?

I've noticed that there has not been a lot of swap activity in the corral. When I joined a year ago, there seemed to be one or two swaps going on at a time.

Is it because of the switch from the old Arena? New rules?

If it's due to the fair being not so far away, may I make the suggestion of a swap for those of us unable to go? (I am not going due to my husband's work schedule).

I have participated in 5 swaps and loved every single one of them.  I would love to share the joy!

I'm not sure why. I know personally, shipping internationally has skyrocketed, and is at least $30-$40 just for shipping. That's the reason I've not signed up to swaps in a while.

That is a likely reason. I have noticed the hike.

An in country swap would be good to combat the rising shipping prices.

I'm in 2 swaps right now, and would LOVE to do more!!  I've been thinking about doing a Pegasus only swap, like a "Wings and Things" idea.  I know I haven't been in too many swaps, but I'd be more than willing to co-host this kind of swap if anyone is game?

I think last year's Halloween swap was a Pegasus swap!

I know trying to do 3 of them right now was tough... I just need to ship them out then I would be game for another one, but shipping prices are pretty high these days I have noticed....

Shipping just 1 adult from USA to Europe is nearly $6 and almost $8 to Australia/ New Zealand!

I am thinking about hosting another swap after the Accessory swap is over...mainly as I thought the same thing...it seemed a little quiet on the swap front! But I am trying to decide on a theme at the moment so suggestions are welcome...any swap could certainly aim to have domestic or continental shipping focus - not always possible but worth a consideration.

I think a long shopping time is good but the army swap is only just finished and I think the shipping on that one can put people off unfortunately.

That is the first thing I looked for when I got back- what swap can I join!?!  But there weren't any starting.  I've been wanting to start up a swap.  The pegasus idea is fun!  I was pondering checking for interest in a Disney pony swap.  I think there was one in the past.  Besides the swap pony or two including Disney extras.  Maybe even a story about the ponies having a Disney vacation.  I'd be happy to host if anyone had ideas but didn't want to. I'm a list maker like Twilight Sparkle.

I quite like the idea of something which at its core is a simple Wishlist Swap as then technically anyone who wants to can join rather than restricting it to a certain type or gen of pony. But we would frill the edges of the swap with a theme...something like "Every Day's A Holiday" and you can pick your favourite holiday or the holiday that most suits your "wish list" items - your partner has to add some extras, wrapping, etc for - you could even be looking for ponies which suit that holiday so Merry Treats for a Christmas theme or Love Story for Valentines or Gusty for Canada Day . I was thinking Summer Fun originally and all ponies and items needed to be summer themed but then for those of you south of the equator thats not going to work and also it does restrict want lists .

I hosted a few swaps in the past and I've a lot of new ideas.
When the  4 Seasons Swap is over - I can host another one.

And sign ups for the Advent Calendar Swap will be open after the summer holidays - like every year I will host it again.
So keep an eye out guys!!
