:wail: I won't get my bait until week 8! I have one other bait with me, but it's for another project...

Is there a specific pose you need? I have quite a big stash at the moment and may be able to help you out :)

:wonder: Wait a second... this challenge lasts until April 9th. So, can I still participate in this even if I get my bait in week 8, which is probably 23. or 24.2? Or should the color of the pony's body be finished by a certain day, until we move on to the next point in the challenge?

I think it's do it at  your own pace.  Some people like to have a theme before starting the basecoat but others are willing to start painting now just because they have a color they like and they'll fit the theme to the color scheme.

I know I’m personally waiting until we have the theme to really get started on my custom! I want to have at least a vague idea of what I’m doing before I get painting haha! :P

I now have a couple of designs I’m happy with! The first one I did had freckles….looks like the leading second marking that is currently in the lead is the dark points! I probably just misread the poll lol!

We shall see if the results change in the next few days, but so far I’m having fun experimenting with our color scheme in the leading theme!

I'll start on the drawing board as well. Putting together all the things that are required and will work from that when all the votes for all the polls are in. That is like creating a very specific pony persona ;)

There's no deadline for specific things. You can work at whatever pace you want :)

Thanks for the answers!  :grouphug:
For some reason, I thought and was afraid that I would not be able to participate in this anymore when I only get my pony later.

Thanks for offering your help, Griffin! I will contact you if my own pony does not seem to fit this challenge.  At least I don't have a specific pose in mind yet.

@H.O.M.  Okiedokie! ^.^

I haven't made any progress with my pony yet, my plans for this weekend is to gesso the bait and go through my hair stash to see if I have all the hair colours. And to make some plans with the colour scheme.

I played around with https://coolors.co/ yesterday to try out some palettes for inspiration. The blue+purple+red/pink+orange combo sounds challenging indeed, but it's not impossible. Some of my favourites:

UT Orange, Robin's egg blue, Russian violet, Cerise, White
Pumpkin, Dark purple, Cerulean, Rose, Fairy Tale (add white)
Imperial red, Polynesian blue, Lavender (floral), Orange peel, Cream

Obviously it would be difficult to achieve these exact colours with the hair and paint available, but I recommend this tool for brainstorming if you have difficulties figuring out how to put all the required colours together. :)

I have a quick question, apologies if it is answered somewhere already - for the body colors, would we pick one of the three, or incorporate all three into the main body somehow?
Thanks to Shimmlight for the new avatar image

You need to use all three somehow. Like you can use one for the body, one for the symbols and one for the secondary markings. Or all three for the body if you want to do gradients or something.

And everyone remember you can use any hue, tint, tone or shade for the colors chosen. I'll put this on the front page too.

Oh thanks for the clarification, I wasn't thinking of it including symbol colors!  That makes so much more sense to me now.  I think I will at least design a pony for this, but I'm not sure if I will actually get to finish the custom in time.  It is such a fun idea, I can't resist at least trying.

Oh, I had a breakthrough tonight! I’ve got a design/color combo that I’m REALLY excited to get started on. Unfortunately I won’t have much free time this week, so I probably won’t be blue to start until next week.

We've got the second round of polls results! :freak:

The theme is food. This includes sweets/candy, desserts and drinks.

Symbols are sparkles. This is up to interpretation. Sparkles could be painted points of light, glitter, or something else.

Secondary markings is dark points like on a Siamese cat. Usually includes the muzzle, ears, legs and tail. Tail point is going to be optional just because of the use of pony hair. I guess you could dye it a darker shade near the body, but I think that adds an unnecessary forced step. So, it's optional.

The last two polls are accessory and required materials. Before we knew the theme we had this list for accessories:

Book(s)
Food (includes drinks)
Animal companion (includes birds, fish and insects)
Necklace
Crown
Bow or Ribbon
Saddle
Plant(s)
Hairpiece
Mask (includes surgical and respirators)
Weapon(s)

Food is redundant now. Is there anything anyone wants to add?

Required materials list is:

Cardboard (any kind, from a cereal/food box, cardstock or corrugated heavy duty)
Plastic (includes cellophane/cling wrap)
Tissue paper (includes napkins/paper towels/toilet paper)
Beads (includes sequins, crystals and other small decorative items)
Metal (includes aluminum and wire including beading wire)

I think this list is solid. I'm not sure what else we could add but if you think of something, please share.
