How long have you been customizing ponies?
About 2 years now.

What got you started?
MLP was my favourite thing in the world (save for our real life horses) as a child. I was originally browsing the arena as a non-member looking for sales and happened across the customs forum and I fell in love. I saw amazing art combined with one of my favourite things and I was sold! I started experimenting and lurking at the same time.

Do you enjoy other types of art?
Absolutely! I draw regularly, do digital work and a little photography.

Do you have any favorite customs done by you or another artist?
ALL of my Peach Blossom customs people have done for me, my many flutters by Steff, Hana Mika by JPP, ambar's phoenix pony, and so many others I wish I could own... the list would probably go on for a while.


What inspires you?
Colors mostly! Lately it has been dye. My last 6 months worth of work has been pretty much me going through my hair drawer, dyeing it, rooting it and going from there. It's backwards but I always root before painting unless it's getting a FBR.


What types of customizing disasters have you run into?
Not too many surprisingly since I'm honestly pretty careless with my Xacto knife. I have super glued a swap pony to my mousepad though.

Do you have any favorite tips or tricks?
I use my hair dryer on low to speed up straw curls or freshly dyed hair; I'm pretty impatient when it comes to waiting for things to dry. I also use a lot of random items -- such as the end of a clicky pen to punch out holes in my sculpt.


Are there any products you just can\'t live without?
Super glue -- I never realized how much I used these things until I've run out.


What advice do you have for someone just starting to get into customizing?
Experiment! Play up your strengths and what you're awesome at but if you see something that inspires you roll with it or you'll never excell. Don't get disheartened if you feel your project isn't going in the direction you wanted it; more often than not the new direction will turn out better than you originally envisioned.
