a Big Brother Pony XP hehe. i refer to myself as a Veteran Brony because i was way into the previous gens as well as the new so feel free to use it. but hey, if you like the term brony just screw the hate! do you actually have a reason to be hurt by a bunch of childish name calling? tell the losers to grow up, or better yet educate them :3 on a side note, do your children like your ponies?

A steak cut into the shape of a heart.
that actually sounds delicious o.o but again im really broke. - bacon bouquet - his fav prewrapped candy/chocolate in a candy jar with a note taped to each piece with a reason why you like him, or what you love about your friendship/relationship
Australian bacon doesnt work like that and chocolate hurts his teeth (otherwise i would be making cute little white chocolate pokemon or something which i can actually do easily ><) I think what you've got already sounds perfect :--) Much more thoughtful than a box of chocolates or something! Dont worry about not giving enough.. its sappy but i think its being with the person you care about that matters most :--D
hmm... maybe you're right. but i want this to be his best valentines ever.

A poem? Or a mix CD of special songs?
hmm... Those would be hard... I'm not exactly a poetry champ and he really doesn't like feminine-ish things like that. And a mix CD would be even harder since my computer has no disk drive and we don't really hav any special songs

so last year on the valentines i told someone that i wanted to end our friendship because i couldn't get over how deeply i felt for him. the goofball didnt see that and just thought i hated him so this year we're... not exactly dating. its very complicated but we are happy with the situation. this year im making him a gift or 2. i just finished making a small fantasy-like chest with Amaterasu (from Okami) on the side since he loves the game. i also plan to bake cookies to put in the chest but ive never baked them before and am nervous... anyway i feel like i should be giving him more but im pretty broke. is there anything i could make that kinda fits the theme of the holiday?

Well we each got our own opinions then, dont we (and hey you asked for them). The arms are all falling off mine. I like the inset eyes, but the face took some getting used to for me.
didnt mean to insult you or anything. geez. sorry if i rubbed you the wrong way

Hmm... I dunno. My little cousins all loved the faces on mine so i don't really see that being an issue. And the newer dolls really don't fall apart as easily (it was actually a bit of a struggle for me, an 18 year old male, to remove the arms and head). And yeah the gimmicks do hinder the doll a bit. They should stick to gimmicks like Ari's and Mae's that don't affect any other part of the doll. Maybe even ditching the gimmicks all together.
hmm... I never thought about the packaging before. Now that you mention it the box is overly complicated and very bulky for such small dolls.

don't get me wrong i love these little interstellar gals but they are suffering in the sales department. In my mind, the main reasons are: - The marketing. If you look at Novi Stars' marketing it seems to consist of a catchy music video with horrid live action and the vlogs on youtube seem to reinforce stereotypes from 90's girl toys. If you look at Monster High or even the queen of girly Barbie herself, its obvious that these stereotypes no longer really exist. Also they never showed commercials here so i don't think they advertised them well.
- The lack of unique dolls and clothing sets. On the shelves at my local target its mainly the Cyclops doll surrounded by a bunch of orbit beaches. I know this might not be the case in America since you guys have a larger range but its a bit of a turnoff for parents and myself to see so many of the same doll on the shelf.
- The mobility. This isn't really a problem for me but i know a lot of kids that hate this a lot. Even just adding elbow and knee joints would help.
- The price. I know the prices have dropped in America but every doll is $25 here. And the orbit beaches which are supposed to be cheaper are actually a little more expensive.
I love these dolls and would love to see the newer ones released here but the future of the brand seems short and i doubt they will make it another year or 2. There is a small fanbase for these dolls but its simply too small. Share your thoughts on how you could improve the Novi Stars selling

I wish the newer ones were sold in stores instead of the first wave. :/
we never got the first wave here. but seeing Mimi, Vera, CiCi, Gail, Ina and Anna would be nice too. Roe and Tilly i could do without... eck! X( my wishlist is Ari (orbit beach), Mae (original), Gail, Anna, Mimi of course, and at the top is Nita! i really want her!

my main problem with G4 is the size of the ponies in relation to the cost. in Australia its almost $10 for a basic brushable and ive seen stores go as high as $15. its insane considering G3s where about $5 for a brushable. and the sets! my god the sets! $60 is WAAAY too much for some poorly designed toy castle and really the only reason i want it is Shining Armor. its just a massive ripoff

I have mine stacked in a Rubbermaid tub in a closet
Pretty much this. I don't actually want people picking them up and flipping through them, so this keeps them safe.
oh wow i didnt even think of people looking through mine. theres some NSFW stuff id prefer no one saw as well as drawings i did as a 13 year old...

alright. i gave him a list of options and after many attempts (he hates being the one to make decisions. its actually extremely adorable) he chose the name Deep Dreamer. now he needs a cutie mark to match the name though. suggestions?
(oh right forgot to mention, the yellow pony in my pic is him)
