Do you have a Ponysona? Tell me about them! Feel free to show pics too!

Mine is Belltock and he's currently my avi and sig. I created him not long after I joined the Arena in 2010. He's loosely based on a dragon character from a short story I wrote when I was like 15 lol. He has my favorite colors and his symbol is #92 Uranium from the Periodic Table. He's also a big draft horse with thick feathering and a messy mane and tail. He's a bit of a grump.

Good to see your ponysona again!

My ponysona is a white pegasus with a blue mane and tail. His name is Duke Blue Skies. His cutie mark is three silver crowns. It symbolises his status as royality (King of Lucia, the kingdom I created where he lives) and it's a collection because his special talent is collecting. He can also summon a glowing, blue horn when nessecary.

He might sound overpowered or cringe because he has an alicorn form but I'm thrilled to bits with him. He really feels like me, even though I can't fly or use magic irl, lol.

I don't really have a pony sona, although my first pony was kind of like that? I thought if I was to be a pony, I would have some sort of dismal spin on the aesthetic. So I imagined a pale orange pony, with dirty blond hair. Instead of fresh fruit, it's rotting, so Stinky Citrus came to be. I think she would look a bit grunge-y. She likes taphonomy and mycology, but...she's a normal pony still. Playing dress up, planning parties, etc. I think she's a bit pessimistic, like Thistle Whistle or Shady.

In my head, I tried to make a pony who could work in any generation. So for FIM, she has this sad origin of making her crops rot, but for every other context... she's just really into studying plant life! I don't really subscribe to the "symbol is the pony" mentality, I just enjoy theming a lot. In practice, she's just a normal girl, living her horse life (with a few mushrooms here and there.)  She's not really a self insert anymore, but I like her.

I've never really made one.  But, I've always wanted to be friends with Glory because she could move through space and time.  I don't remember where I got that idea.

Mine (as seen in my PFP) is Blue Moon. She was designed by me, but the picture used for her cutie mark was finished by my ex. I don’t think I want to change the mark, so it’s staying for the time being. The model I’ve used for renders is from Skytails Bpony for Blender.
Blue Moon is a quiet, space loving unicorn who seems to have incredible luck! Things that happen “once in a blue moon” just seem to occur more often around her, or she always seems to be in the right place at the right time. While most ponies see her as just being a very lucky pony, Blue Moon credits it to not just blind luck and passive fate. She has the ability to read the stars, gaining insight into possible future events and acting accordingly. She isn’t always correct in her interpretation, or can act incorrectly and bring about an undesired event. But she supposes that’s where luck takes charge.

I have two, both designed in my 20s. While they both represent me, I would do a full redesign if I weren't attached to all the adoptables I've collected over the years from artists who are no longer active. (I definitely have a design in mind.) The personas don't have names, mostly because I suck at naming things.

The first is a pegasus I created in 2004. I would have just gone with Medley, but someone well-known at the time was already using her as her persona. Not sure why I picked that pony type - I'm afraid of heights. I guess it's because Rescue at Midnight Castle/Firefly's Adventure is my favorite G1 special. She's purple with rainbow hair because that's my favorite color, and I love rainbows. She has TAF silver glitter symbols because I like glitter, and the TAFs are one of my favorite sets. Music notes because I sing and played the clarinet.

The second is a redesign from my late 20s, who was clearly subconsciously inspired by Streaky, another of my favorite sets. All of the same likes as the previous, with the change to a unicorn because I like them better and the addition of the stars because I love stars. The scale is the B♭ scale because I played the B♭ clarinet. Gradient legs just because that was a popular thing around that time. I use both ponysonas interchangeably.

My avatar has my username's G3 custom pony I made in 2006, ChocolateStarfire! She was made from a Velvet Bow! She's a chocolate brown pony with brown eyes, a multicolored red and brown mane/tail, and firey hooves. Her cutie mark is a five pointed white shooting star. Chocolate Starfire the pony likes to watch the stars at night by the warmth of a campfire and wonder at the mysteries of the Universe. When she's with her pony friends, she loves helping them so much she runs fast enough to catch her hooves aflame!

In my early 20’s, I created a slew of unicorn and Pegasus big brother ponies simple because we needed more big brothers!  Gator was created because I live in the US state of Georgia, where the University of Georgia is, and their mascot is the Georgia Bulldawgs(yes, misspelled!).  Our biggest enemy is the Florida Gators.  Well, I was sick of everyone’s obsession with Bulldawgs, even though I did go to school there, and I picked Gator as my persona when I joined the Arena.

And I figured he fits in with the Happy Tails set with the two critters symbol.

I'm unsure if she counts as she was my furry sona first, but she was inspired by so soft ponies as she has a soft fluffy horn! I have a desperate need to make have her made into a g1 custom someday if I can ever find someone who does flocking on custom commissions!

Cosmic Jelly is my ponysona - she doesn't really have a character separate from me per-say, really just me as a pony haha, with design elements taking from a bunch of things I like. Specifically she's a Jelly Flutter Pony, whilst Melon Dew (my partner's sona, also pictured) is a So-Soft Big Brother Pony - this art of them is actually fairly old, I should really draw them again soon lol

my sona Sapphire Seasong (seen in my profile pic)  who i made in around late 2021-early 2022 when i just started getting back into MLP after my "I'm to old to like ponies anymore"phase. is a kirin/pegasi hybrid that i hold her very dear to my heart. I wanted the design elements of the G4 kirins, large fluffy lions mane, big ears, classical unicorn tail, but didn't care for the horn (It just looked like a random tree branch sitting on her head to me) so i swapped the horn for a pair of wings and batta bing bada boom here she is today.

My ponysona is Aithne. Her personality is pretty much a reflection of mine, maybe a bit more one-dimensional because real life is messy She likes art and reading and learning new skills. Her design brings together things I love: unicorns, cats, Celtic ornaments (and languages, as suggested by her name which means knowledge, also in the sense of recognition or acquaintance), the colours green, yellow/orange and brown. Her symbol is a black fluffy cat hugging a roundel with a Celtic triquetra knot. For simplicity (customs etc.), the NDS has the roundel only without the cat.

As much as I love the fantasy colours of MLP, I've always liked seeing MLP in real horse colours and with realistic markings. I love the blazes on Bubbles and Seashell! I generally like any animals with dark points, buckskin horses for example, or Birman and Ragdoll cats (I have a Birman). So gradient legs seemed like the obvious choice, and the sandy brown coat was nice and neutral enough to go with the other colours. I didn't give her a dark muzzle simply to keep the design less busy.

I created her 15 years ago and I'm still happy with her design.

My ponysona is inspired by my OC who is the protagonist of my book and is a fairy. Both my OC and my Ponysona are inspired by me, lol. She has the personality that I have, interests, hobbies, traumas, dreams, fears and style that I have. Her cutie mark has to do with animals because I study veterinary medicine and my OC, which she is inspired by, is the fairy of animals. Her name is Lisa Amethyst (just like my OC).
