Blind bag dragon *update finished*
« on: January 28, 2012, 06:55:00 PM »
Edit: Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions.  In the end I decided on a very thin bat type wing.  I hope you like the way she came out!

First...amazing!

Second...not all dragons have wings, depends on the mythology.

Third...I would just stare at hundreds of fantasy dragon images and when you find a couple that work...sketch it.

Fourth: she's awesome!

Lol Thanks.  I've sketched several styles and I think bat type wings seem most appropriate but no matter how many times I try they come out bulky.  *thinks* I think I was more of a European style dragon.

I think she is gorgeous! As a few others have said, it'd be extremely hard to do wings on such a tiny piece, however, if you can pull it off, I agree with batwings. Could you possibly do them folded in & against the body instead of out? It may be easier + more stable to sculpt? Just an idea ^^

I am amazed at how much detail you were able to put into something that small!!  Awesome Job!!!

I agree with fingerpaints.  If they were folded in, on body they would be sturdier.

you could use some thin plastic, I use the plastic from the old pony boxes to make my dragon wings and paint over the top with normal acrylic paint, that way they won't be bulky and you can make any shape you like  :)

The dragon looks amazing so far!  I was going to suggest folded or plastic wings like others have.  It would look great if you left it as is as well.  Good luck! :)

....There is a little tiny Spyro hiding in there. I see her peeking out. That is REALLY great work. You could just have folded wings against the body if you're concerned about structure. ^^ I think it looks great so far though ^_^
