Magic Star - Restored

Another restoration I've done is Magic Star, like my Gypsy, she also had a mane and tail severe cut. She also has a rub on one of her symbols, which I haven't restored yet (gathering courage to do that lol).


Here's how used to look like, the photo isn't that good because the the light, sorry about that:

This time I think the tail has the right amount of hair. I also tried to use less hair on the plugs and it looks better than Gypsy's mane  . For some reason the tales tend to get a little longer than the original pony would have, I think.

A suggestion on donig the symbol: less paint is always better!  Habro has such smooth paint, it's a good idea to do severeal thin layers for touch ups as opposed to trying to get it all at once.

Yes I think you're right, thanks for the suggestion. It's true, Hasbro does have a smooth paint, it almost looks like the pony was born with it. I was wodering, is it possible to maybe draw what you want and then paint on top of it, instead of free hand painting?

Yes I think so, if you use a pencil and draw lightly

I'm really, really sorry but spelling is a pet peeve of mine  (even though I'm no expert at it) your reference to tale is that of a narrative or piece of fiction - you want tail as in the rear part of an animal... 

... Nuff' ( ) of that, nice job on the re-hair. Magic Star looks lovely... first though she was the SS version

OMG! You're right! why did I call it a tale  ?! And why didn't I notice it?! Of course it's tail LOL. Thanks for mentioning it.[size=78%] [/size]   I didn't know she was first a SS.
