Off Topic / Asking for help from anyone willing!
« on: October 09, 2017, 03:15:51 AM »
Hi all,

I haven't been overly active lately due to work and health related issues, however, I work with around 50 3 - 4 year old children in Victoria, Australia. Currently, my little ones have been very interested in geography due to a few of them having recent trips overseas as well as my assistant spending a week in NZ.

I would love to ask the help of anyone in other states (if in Australia) or from overseas if you could possibly send a couple of postcards or pamphlets for local attractions? If you could possibly help out in any way I am sure the children would all be very appreciative :)

Feel free to leave a message here if you can help or send me a pm and I can provide postage details.

This woman is a nightmare, block her immediately!

I sold a furby and care bear to her, and she stated apparently the care bear wasn't working, which was total bs, as I tested it before sending off and it was fine. Anyway, offered full refund on return, she left me a negative instead.

I had a bad feeling about her, but gave her the benefit of the dbout. The day I posted, she accused me of the items being "damaged", BEFORE they even arrived! Absolute nutcase! Avoid at all costs!

Off Topic / The Ugglys pet shop - anyone collect? want to trade?
« on: June 08, 2015, 11:17:52 PM »
I have unfortunately started collecting these, they are way too cute. I'm missing a few and was wondering if any of you pony people collect or would like to trade or possibly sell your doubles. Im after about 24 different normal ones and happy to give a list to anyone that is up for a trade or sale.

If you are after certain ones I have a heap of doubles too so let me know what you are after and ill see if I can help you :)

I took my bestie to the animal shelter yesterday for support and a level head in adopting another kitty. My two oldies are getting on in age, and thought it was time to take on a new fur baby. I had 2 x 18 year olds (Jack the tabby and Darla Boo the torti) as well as a 7 year old Sir Winston a Chinchilla (persian x tabby).

We had picked out two cats, a little white girl or a champagne with ginger points boy, when I went in to visit the champagne boy in the cage a little tabby came out of hiding and was all over me like a rash, 11 year old "Chicko". I hadn't even seen him in there and immediately fell in love with his smoochy personality so took him home.

My parents weren't too fond of his original name so have renamed him Pat (pat the cat) lol.

So meet Pat :)

Off Topic / Whats in your pockets?
« on: December 24, 2014, 02:03:51 AM »
I just pulled everything out of my pockets, and it got me thinking, what do more normal people carry in their pockets?

I work with children, so it kinda explains some of the contents.

What I pulled out:

° spotty balloons
° christmas stamps
° bubbles
° lighter
° keys
° toy car
° dummy
° kids bracelet
° hair bands

My mum put my little man into a pet comp. Would appreciate any votes you could give him! He is my special little man :) Jack just turned 17 last month, its hard to believe he has been part of my life for over half of it at this age! And if you are wondering, yes he does have different coloured eyes, a blue and a yellow

Off Topic / Finally landed myself a job!
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:03:15 PM »
Its been a couple of months of being jobless, about a month of not being able to actively look due to being hospitalized with a nasty infection and recovery, but ive beenttrying so hard to find something.

I just started a course in training and assessment yesterday, and I had a call from a director I had completed a couple of trial days with to offer me a position. As she understood I had just started the new course and needed tuesdays off for the next eleven weeks, she offered me a permanent four day week on a casual basis until I completed the course, which will be perfect for me as ill be on about the same money dropping the day a week casual rates as I would be full time. Im also studying my bachelor in education (early childhood).

I start monday, and im so excited about it. As ive already done a couple of days, I know what to expect. Just so happy to have a job! Im sick of being flat broke lol.

Pony Corral / Newer pony stuff spotted in Australia!
« on: September 13, 2014, 08:21:05 PM »
Just thought id let you other Aussies know, some of the newer pony stuff has started to pop up here in Oz. I picked up one of the pop buildable ponies from big w yesterday, I was in a bit of a hurry, but they did have some other new stuff too like the plush ones that you draw on with markers and stuff.

I wasn't expecting to find the pop ponies over here any time soon, for anyone curious they were found at the waverly gardens mall in Vic. I don't know about anywhere else but if you are after some of the new items, keep an eye out in your area.

« on: August 31, 2014, 01:51:27 AM »
I found ruby on a shelf in the supermarket! I was quiet shocked she was still there, and im normally not that lucky. I was lucky enough to have an awesome mate of mine pick up a clover for me, I just hope im back in work soon or I may have to sell ruby to pay for essentials, hope this is a sign that im over a cycle of bad luck :)

Off Topic / non pony brag :D
« on: July 29, 2014, 03:21:58 AM »
I've been out of work for a few weeks due to being hospitalized and recovering from a couple of infections. Its been a stressful month, but im finally coming good noe.

I've been applying for jobs since yesterday, and already have two callbacks for interviews this week! I know the hardest part of getting work is getting to interview stage, so im very excited to have two already, considering ive only applied for around 8 positions.

Just wanted to share in my happy :)

I also have a new fish, my filter packed it in the other night so I went straight to the pet shop the following morning to replace it, whilst there a callico fantail caught my eye so I brought it home to join my fish family. I love my pets and couldn't imagine not having scaley, feathered or furry family around me. Ive had cats for sixteen years, and the fish and lizards are new in the last year due to work (my lizards live with my friend however that was my co worker in my last job) we both brought tge fish and lizards together, and when I left decided to take them all back to our own places as I no longer had a key to go look after them on weekends (and my mate doesn't drive).

Pets are awesome

Off Topic / Weird things your pets do...
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:01:34 AM »
I have a few pets, but my tabby cat jack has some really strange habbits. It got me wondering if other pet owners had anim a ls with strange things that thry do?

I discovered tonight he has a strange obsession with rocket balloons, the long thin ones that you blow up, let go & they scream around the room making a hell of a racket. He is terrified of plastic bags and sneezing, has been since a kitten, so it surprised me he didn't go into a hidey hole until the big mean balloon went away.

He also hates fish, he is the only cat I have ever known to turn fish down. Not a fan of seafood at all.

Share, what strange things do your pets get up to? Or weird habbits.

Off Topic / Do you let your pets sleep on the bed?
« on: June 23, 2014, 05:51:16 AM »
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if it was considered normal among us pony folk to let your fur babies sleep on the bed with you? Or is it a no no?

I have a menagerie of scaley and finned pets that for obvious reasons don't sleep on the bed, but the three cats sleep with me or others in the household. Jack my little man sleeps on my bed or my friend who is staying with us, he picks which bed he wants to sleep on pretty much. Winston often sleeps on my parents bed and occasionally will sleep next to me, and darla normally sleeps with my parents, she is daddys little girl and often snuggles under the blankets with him. The boys both always sleep on top.

A good friend of mine has a rotwheeler cross that always sleeps with her, and my ex had a maltese x king charles spaniel that slept on the bed with us. Ive been brought up to find this pretty normal behaviour but I know not everyone agrees with it.

So pets on or off the bed?

Off Topic / Im a lizard mummy!
« on: April 08, 2014, 04:55:32 AM »
My offsider and I wanted a new, more interesting than goldfish pet for our room. We planned on getting an axilotle or two, but apparently they don't play well with goldfish and vice versa. So we came back to work with a pair of two month old blue tongue lizards! Ive never owned any reptiles before but instantly fell in love with these cuties. We did want a snake but the boss said no.

Anyhow, this is Harold and Booba, the newest addition to our nursery room at work. The kids love them and have been surprisingly gentle with them, some were a bit hesitant at first but warm up and can't help giving them a pat.
