Symbols probably would go well on back quarter panels, just like the rumps of ponies... and I'd agree, maybe in those back window panels (the ones that don't go down)...

that is kinda what i am thinking, either that or in the small back passenger windows. if i had the money i would have it custom painted, but that is way in the future and $$$$$ away

Having worked closely with a vehicle wrap company in the past, I would honestly suggest going with the windows or areas that are easy and cheap to cover/repair...vinyl graphics do come off with heat but there is always a paint work issue which can be a concern!

Edit: You ll need to post pictures when its all branded up!

haha, this sounds like a Job for me. I actually work at a sign and graphics business and make decals so I thought I'd play with your car for a couple minutes.

I'd put pony heads down the side like what you see below if I really wanted to decal up my personal car. I'd Probably do something BIG on the hood, thinking the MLP Logo), I'd do something like this maybe with each character down the side.

If I had a scalable picture where I'd be able to have an exact measurment I could design it up, this was just a quick 5 minute attempt to play around with an idea.

Thanks for posting this.   I just got a "Muffins" decal and was contemplating where to put it.

For decals, I've always been a fan of the back window, in one of the corners. :)

If you went for the window, it would look really snazzy if you could get the decal in maroon vinyl to match your car's paint job!

This is what I have on my car.  I /highly/ prefer sticking decals on windows simply because if you take off a sticker that was stuck on a painted area, paint tends to come off with it. ^^'

Actually it depends on what kind of decal you use and the paint job on your car. If you have a factory paint job it is less likely that the decal is going to pull the paint off. If you have a very very old paint job or poorly done paint job a decal can damage your paint.

I've been putting on decals for years and taking them off, THERE are ways to remove decal off the painted part of your car that will not harm your paint. The only time I've ever had issue with paint coming off a vehicle when removing decal is if the paint has degraded to a point where the vehicle is extremely old. I've run into issues where people didn't know what they were doing and damaged they're paint - but that is usually due to people being in a hurry and doing the exact wrong things when removing decals.

There are certain grades of decal that is better to use, and depending on where you buy your decals from; If they're using a cheap brand or low grade decal you can run into problems.

For me personally if I was going to decorated the painted side of my car I'd want to have something made custom special to fit the car. Just randomly buying a decal and hoping it'll look right usually looks kind of tacky. If you've just randomly bought decals then I would say yes, put them in the back window, etc. If you are wanting something on the side then take measurements and try to get something created that is going to look right and made for the area, etc.

I'd also like to add that when putting decals that are printed in your window, always make sure that whoever makes them has a clear laminate over top. Depending on the angle of your back window you can get a lot of sun exposure, and any kind of printed decal is going to fade, especially if the printed or silk screened decal doesn't have the proper coating on it.

Any kind of decal that is printed is going to fade eventually but if there is no protection then it's going to fade that much quicker.

I am thinking of smaller decals for right now with bigger cooler stuff to come later, i am thinking of 2 small rainbow dash cutie marks on either side of my back licence plate, bigger ones in the small windows of the back doors, a wonderbolts cutie mark on the back glass and maybe a few more cool things:) and bigger stuff later when i make up my mind

I used to have a small red outline of baby ember in my backwindow at the center and then on the two side windows I had one of my own unicorn drawings I made into a decal. So your idea isn't that complicate.

I don't know where you get your decals but whoever does them should be able to do the same thing I did above and can show you what it will look like on your car before the decals are made. Or art least that is what I usually do for my customers who come in and want secial thing made.

I bought them from some people on etsy, and a guy on ebay, whoever had what i was after or would make it for me, everything is supposed to be 5-7 year rated outdoor vinyl, but only time will tell. give me your vinyl business web site or email KarentheUnicorn and i will keep you in mind on my next big decal project.

Sorry, we don't really have a website - (there are only so many hours in the day). I did finally get around to creating a facebook page on March 22nd and you are welcome to contact me through that. I don't have a lot on it yet (as I just made it about a month ago), but I have loaded a few pictures of signs and other things I've done at work this month; mostly what I've been able to load in my spare time.

I've been trying for months to decide what decals to buy for my car and where to put them. Please post pictures when you're done!
